I am glad I finally came in and tried this place as it will probably be added to my lunch break rotation. They have a really great $7.99 Monday through Friday lunch special that I will be using exclusively from now on as I don't believe their regular prices are worth what you get. I spent roughly 15$ today for a hibachi combo and the taste and quality doesn't match the price. I didn't find my chicken as dry and chewy as some of the other helpers, but I did find the steak to be dry, bland, and overcooked. They didn't ask me what temp I wanted it. The meat pieces are cut so small that it would be almost impossible not to over cook it. I really liked the way the zucchini and onions were cut and cooked but I wish there was more. I was also disappointed that it wasn't an authentic fried rice with veggies and egg but a tamer blander option that only has corn sparingly. This is typical of a lot of southern towns as the common people don't like to eat their peas. I was delighted to find that they had the option of ginger sauce (not to be confused with ginger dressing) but it was more on the sugary side and less on the gingery side. Overall it satisfied my craving for Japanese food but again I wouldn't want to pay their regular menu pricing for it. It is definitely worth the $8 lunch special price. read more

Its so bad its good! This places quality has always been absolutely sub par but for hibachi food, this is unfortunately pretty good. Quality has mostly stayed the same for the last 10 years and while the prices have gone up its still a good deal. Many hibachi places fail to do the bare minimum Sapporos has been doing for years. My Girls are sure to ALWAYS pick this spot for a quick lunch ( only when I shoot down Chick fil a ). They both enjoy the hibachi chicken here I myself would just prefer the hibachi veggie plate. If I'm being honest this place really has it together to be a fast hibachi grab and go . No matter how crowed it never takes long to be served here and they do walk around in their spare time to check on you and refill your cup if needed. Which is nice considering this place you just order at the counter get your own drink and have a seat. They give you a number to place at the end of your table and they will bring your food out once it's done. The establishment is kept clean tables are continuously being wiped down and clean and my 9 year old bathroom critic says the that the bathroom was clean also. The only complaints I have with this place is the chicken always seems a little over cooked and chewy ( which is why I just do veggies). It is located inside the Walmart parking lot so it's not always easy to find parking or to navigate especially during lunch hour. I been to this place many times. I noticed there are many Japanese joints near Saporo.This place is not your typical Japanese join. It's more than that. They actually care about service. They actually come to your table to check on you, and refill your drinks. I have to say the 4.99 lunch special is the best value in the area. The 4.99 lunch includes a drink and enough food for lunch and dinner specially Friday chicken and shrimp lunch special. I think most fast food places are more expensive than here......just saying. The food here here is actually very tasty. The hibachi chicken was very tender and moist.The carrots and hibachi vegetables are very good, too. Give this place a try and thank me later. read more

We eat here often, and it is the best quick sit down Japanese restaurant we've found. Weekday specials are our favorite thing. Different meat(s) served, depending on the day of the week, and only $5.00 (that's AFTER tax.) This includes rice, vegetables (custom order is O.K.), tea, and unlimited white sauce. A Japanese quick food restaurant in a large shopping area, it is typical of this town but there are others here that do a much better job. Order at counter and they bring it to your table. Get your own drinks, flatware,etc. All entrées served with fried rice,vegetables,sweet carrots and shrimp sauce. 2 spring rolls 2.55 were good ( a 4 ). Hibachi chicken 5.75 - not much taste ( a 2 ). Hibachi rib eye steak - very bland, again, not much taste ( a 2 ). Side order of mixed vegetables 1.79 - When this was delivered, I was shocked at how little was in the bowl. Fast service, definitely a low 90 on the cleanness scale. Ordered the Ribeye Hibachi you can actually count the pieces of 1/4 inch meat. Half of the plate are sweetened carrots; although the crab wonton are excellent. Definitely considered fast food. read more

Prices are definitely fair and the spot is quite cozy and right in the middle of town, which is super convenient! The food is very average though..it taste like 'fast food Japanese'. When I went to place my order, the girl at the counter was very distracted by her friend, who was also at the counter off to the side..talking about a party or whatnot that they were going to or had recently gone to. She was most certainly not interested in greeting new customers approaching the counter. I actually had to interrupt their conversation to get her attention so I could order. When the food came out (in literally two minutes) it was almost cold and the vegetables looked and tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. I guess its Ok if you are looking for super quick Japanese at Ok prices with below average service. I've definitely had better hibachi style Japanese. I do believe in giving places a chance, but I'll pass on this spot next time I'm looking for quick Japanese! read more

Pretty good teriyaki, it's not the best you will ever have but it's pretty good. Very friendly staff! I thought the sweet tea here is very good! I would definitely come back here though. Me and my husband went to the restaurant and was extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. The cooks literally flipped the chicken once and when we got home the zucchini was raw and the chicken was way under cooked. The white sauce had been watered down. The only thing they do have going for them is that they are cheap. Obviously that is for a reason. We definitely got what we paid for. Crap that ended up going into the trash. What a waste of money. I always get the chicken hibachi it is served with rice, zucchini and onions, and sweet carrots. The food is served on styrofoam plates. You get a lot of food for what you pay for. I don't like the sweet carrots I usually substitute them for something else. Sapporo Express is cheap and has really good Japanese food. read more
