Went here for the first time to grab a bite while waiting to see the monks for the walk of peace. We grabbed a quick bite. Ordering and preparation were quick despite how busy they were and a huge order was placed right before ours. The staff was very friendly. My friends pole bowl (not pictured) was delicious and super loaded. However, I got their fried shrimp appetizer and it did not quite live up to my standard. Firstly, many of the shrimp were fried with the tails on which I found unappetizing, the coating on the shrimp was very thick. The sauce was great though and they wete perfectly golden not overcooked. I would go back but get something else.

My schedule was somewhat tight so I had the greatest idea to stop in at Stock & Grain which was less than 5 minutes from my afternoon meeting location. Decided to call in to Yumi instead of placing the order online (since I was driving). By the time I got there, set up my laptop where I could plug in and keep working (there's plenty of seating) and got situated, my food was ready! I chose the seafood ramen and added a boiled egg and mushrooms. The egg sat on top with a somewhat runny yolk but since the broth was in a separate bowl I was able to pour it on top and cook the yolk a little. Could've been a bit more hot in temperature and I could have chosen medium spicy instead of mild but I didn't want to risk it having a meeting right after. The bowl was chock full of noodles and seafood and they did not skimp on adding mushrooms. Stop in the food hall for any of the lunch options or just a drink at either the coffee bar or the BAR bar!

This is the best sushi I've had in the Triad. It was fresh and had large portions. Please open a location in Winston!

This place is a gem! We love sushi so we couldn't wait to give them a try. We ordered sushi, shrimp and a poke bowl. Everything we had was fresh, delicious and had us chewing and dancing. Prices are affordable and you get a lot of food. We also tried their lemonade and it was goood. Service was great and we can't wait to return.

This place is located inside a food court hall right outside of the baseball yard. Its a cute place to go to, not overally crowded like some food court halls. The sushi and ramen here are very food. The bubble tea here is also amazing. My only quip is that the wait time from the time you order to when you get the food is a bit long for a food court. Had all my other foods done way before my order was ready. But overall the food quality is great.

Located in Stock & Grain, YUMI offers great options for sushi, poke bowls, sushi burritos, and appetizers. We did the BYO poke bowls, and they were fast, fresh, and delicious--and for the serving sizes and location, we felt the prices were reasonable. Though S&G was busy, our poke bowls were ready quickly. With tons of protein and filling options, plus a wide variety of sauces and crunchy toppings, there's sure to be something for everyone. And S&G seemed to be hopping! There was live music outside, and a game going on. But, FYI--the splash pad next door is only open 10-4 and not during games.

Once again YUMI has knocked it out of the park! This sushi is always fresh and prepared meticulously. Had two large parties in front of me and food still came out in about 10 Minutes. This spot will remain HIGH on my rotation ! I cant stop here without grabbing a Hitachino japanese ale! Super different then most of the beers i drink but still really good Passionfruit tea was very refreshing!

So grateful for their Go Chu tofu (vegan) bowl option. The flavor was *chef's kiss***. $15 because I got half brown rice half mixed salad as my base. Generous portion of tofu. (I got fried for more texture) Went with mild spice which was perfect for me. I think a great option for vegan and non vegan eaters! Yummm!

Stopped by on a whim and loved my meal here! Build your own bowl was fresh and huge in portions - I loved that I could customize exactly what I wanted with traditional sides. Definitely get the panko fried chicken - it was delicious! Mango refresher was a nice treat after a long day. This place is a little bit on the higher $$ end, but it was worth it was the great meal and friendly service.

We recently went to try to the Stock and Grain Food Hall (see that review separately), and this was one of the establishments in the building we tried as a group. As a huge fan of sushi and an explorer of Poke, I was excited to see this option. Ordering was fast and easy, though I thought prices were a bit high. They use buzzers to notify you when your food is ready, and while it took a while, I appreciated the option to wander the food hall and still know when my food was done. The pickup area was a bit unclear with multiple orders sitting on the bar, but I was able to figure out which one looked like mine. As for the food: the Goyza appetizer was very tasty, and we enjoyed them! The Yumi Yuma sushi roll was a large portion, good flavor, and overall above average. The Poke bowl was a bit overwhelming with so many options (but to be fair, I don't even like picking all my toppings at subway sometimes - I usually like pre-made menu options). The bowl was a very generous portion, and a great mixture of flavors. Overall this was a good establishment, and I'll look forward to coming back!

The poke bowl was excellent! You get a ton of options to build the bowl with multiple sauces, proteins, veggies, crunchy etc. We did shrimp and chicken with quite a few add ons. It's a large portion and they had it ready quickly.

Located in a food court, Yumi was very busy for a late afternoon Saturday. The food court in itself gave me a vibe of gathering with a few friends and having some food and drinks from various restaurants. I ordered the Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl. All ingredients were fresh and I was able to customize my bowl adding my own flavor profile. I ordered the spicy mayo and white sauce on the side...YUM! I will definitely visit again and again!

Since then, the half price sushi hours are no longer in effect, replaced with more standardized lunch specials and combinations. Three basic rolls for x, two specialty rolls for x, etc... as well as specials on hot food and the like. Due to this, I just haven't found myself there very often, and until my experience last week it had probably been two or three years honestly. We came during lunch hours on a Saturday. The lunch specials are good every day, not just weekdays, so that is a good thing. Ordering was simple enough, still done at the counter, given a number, go have a seat. Drinks still self-serve, no wait staff or the like which is totally fine. We ordered a general tso's chicken combination with fried rice and an egg roll, a basic two roll combination of sweet potato tempura and Ro Roll, and a two speciality roll combination that I honestly cannot remember the specific names of. There were also crab rangoons. My first area of dismay, even though we were eating there, everything came in to-go containers creating a ton of trash and waste. Plastic utensils, cups, everything. This was not the case in the past. I guess they've done the financial math that it's cheaper than dishwashing, but it's terrible for our environment. It would have been better if things even came combined on paper plates than this. As to the food, we were disappointed. Nothing other than the sushi and maybe soup appears to be made there, definitely true for all fried things. Rangoons came with plain duck sauce. Egg rolls the size of your index finger. Sushi wise, the sweet potato tempura roll was the best of the bunch. The fish tasted fine, nothing off putting there, but also nothing pleasant. The flavor combos just didn't make me want to eat more... and they were all crammed into to-go sushi trays with dry horseradish ("wasabi") It is not common for me to leave sushi pieces for the trash, but I did this time. Ultimately, the things that used to draw me here just didn't seem to be in place. But the price isn't bad at all. If you are more concerned with value, and don't mind some of the things I listed above, this place could work for you.

I happened to have reason to be in the shopping center one fateful day, and was hungry to boot. So I decided, I should stop in, if for nothing else, just to say I put it through it's paces. Inside, well, I kind of found what I expected. A well-worn restaurant, but importantly, very clean. Much of the decor has faded over time, but I don't see much reason to improve it. Looking into the kitchen, and just observing interactions, I would wager the same husband and wife combination have owned it the entire time. Though everything is dated, I do love that you can fully see the entire kitchen and sushi bar. I went for lunch, but was surprised there was not a lunch special menu of any kind. Standard in this area, you would usually find that. Same menu all day here. I ordered chicken yakisoba and a yellowfin scallion maki roll. Service was excellent, attentive but not overly so. You can tell the experience, as the same lady was working the whole place (about 8 tables occupied). My sushi roll came out first, no complaints. Fresh yellowfin tuna, the inclusion of scallions was a nice touch both for taste and texture. Appropriate amount of rice. This was great, maybe next time I will just go for sushi. My chicken yakisoba was a good portion, but I found it a bit bland generally. I asked for some ginger sauce to dip it in, and that helped a lot, but on its own I would have liked more flavor kick. The chicken however was cooked well, not dry at all. Overall, this place is not very close to me, but if in the area I would come again. I was just glad to have finally set foot in there after all this time, and find a family run place sticking to what they do best.

There was also a birthday party while we were there, and let me tell you, the entire restaurant... lights, music, and all... shifts into party mode when it's time to sing that person a song. Pretty impressive. Anyway, back to the food. We did enjoy the corn ribs, but they were pretty messy and difficult to eat. I have seen some examples at other places where the kernels were easier to get at, or you could even eat the husk part because it was so thin. Also, we would have liked a little more, the ribs did not even really add up to a full large ear of corn. The fajitas for two were really good and a huge portion. Very tender meat and veggies. We would have liked to see more pineapple. The chunks were small and a little sparse on the skillet, so in the end, we didn't get much of that tropical flavor. After placing a call to Little Tokyo to confirm they too weren't filled to capacity, we headed there for our sushi fix, and it made me regret not having visited sooner. Little Tokyo boasts a pleasant, relaxing ambiance that made it a welcome refuge from the night's rather intense rain. The menu here is Japanese (sushi, sashimi, hibachi, etc.) albeit with some Korean and Chinese influences. The selection of sushi rolls is extensive, and quite a few of them sounded intriguing. Admittedly, the Italian (a California roll topped with white fish, tomato sauce, and cheese) was a bridge too far even for me. My wife and I came hungry and went with two apps (steamed dumplings and vegetable gyoza), four rolls, and two misos. The food was, across the board, quite good. Whereas some miso can blast you with salt, Little Tokyo's broth benefitted from an underlying richness. Our sushi was beautifully plated and tasted fresh. Of the rolls we tried, the Bulgoki (beef, crab, cucumber, and eel sauce) was my favorite. Prices here are reasonable for the quality of the food (rolls in the low-mid teens, most apps under $10), and severs are polite. The kitchen isn't lightning fast, but we didn't find the wait unreasonable. Based on ratings, I expected "good," and based on hunger levels and a desire to be out of the rain, I would have settled for "OK." Little Tokyo, however, ended up being surprisingly great.
