If going for the AYCE - Make sure to check your menu For starters, this is a place we enjoy going. The food is usually very good, service can be a hit or miss though. Today we went in and asked for an All You Can Eat lunch menu. It was 11:45am, so very clearly we were there for lunch, in addition to asking for a lunch menu. We were sat with a dinner menu (and did not realize this until we received our ticket at the end). Service was mediocre. Food was great! Once receiving our ticket, instead of seeing 3 $23 all you can eat LUNCH charges, we saw 3 $40 all you can eat PREMIUM DINNER charges. Ultimately, it's our fault for trusting the waitress & not reading the fine print on the menus that the hostess (who was also our waitress) gave us. But this seems like a very shady way to conduct business and get extra money from your customers. Especially when we are there at lunch time and had asked specifically for lunch menus. read more

Not only does this restaurant have literally something for everyone (chicken nuggets and fries for one kiddo, steak on a stick with edamame and veggie tempura for the other, salmon sushi galore with the best ever calamari tempura for me, and everything my husband loves too - he literally eats around the menu)! I have been here several times, but hate to say it feels like it's going downhill. The food at this place is very good, but expensive.It's all you can eat (which is brought out in waves) for $33 a plate. That part is worth it. It's a nice treat every now and then. However, paying $3.85 for soda and $4.50 for a simple cup of hot Jasmine tea in addition to the plate price seems like gouging. The atmosphere seems high end, but some things are out of place. The menus are neat up and falling apart. They also contain many drinks and items that are not available anymore. The used to have afull bar and now they have a very limited selection of alchoholic drinks. The pens for filling out your credit card receipt also have plastic silverware taped to them (so customers don't take them I assume) it looks very low class. Pens are not that expensive. Surprised Midland even had a ramen place to be honest, but happy I stumbled upon this place. We were seated right away for lunch. Got seated at a spacious booth. Place was clean and inconspicuous. We ordered a few items. Staples, really. The edamame was sweet and crisp. It was a little too al dente for me. The steamed buns were delicious! Hot and fresh. I could've just ordered those and called it a day! We topped it off with the black tonkatsu ramen. It was hot and rich. You can taste the garlic, but not as overpowering as other ramens I've had. The chatsu is well done and plenty of it. The boiled eggs were soaked in soy sauce so they were flavorful. The noodles were cooked perfectly. It seemed a little oily for me, but I didn't mind it. There's corn, bamboo shoots and a slice of nori to fill the ramen. Usually there's Narutomaki, wakame, and mushrooms in the other ramens I eat, so this seemed a bit lacking. Quite the top quality that you can expect from the top Sushi places, fresh Salmon and shrimp, tasty flavorful combinations with nice presentations. The Hibachi was very good as well. The price while on the higher end as far as all you can eat places are compared, was totally justified by the quality of the food. Sapporo has great ramen for Midland, TX. The only reason why I am giving 4/5 stars is because of the basic flavors. Starting with the boba Thai tea, which was great, but the boba had no taste. For the appetizers, the karage chicken is basically little popcorn chicken pieces that you would get from a boba shop, and the pineapple cream cheese wontons don't taste like pineapple at all, but they were still yummy regardless. Both ramen bowls, spicy and black tonkatsu, are delicious! I am particular with my noodles, and I must say that Sapporo ramen noodles are not that bad. The noodles reminded me of spaghetti noodles in thickness, and the chashu pork tasted terrific compared to other places I have tried. Walked in with my family and was welcomed by a waitress that was short tempered. "Anything else" "Anything else" is how she responded. I asked her about a picture of what was obviously milk tea with boba but was unsure about the flavor because of no description on the menu and she sly's "uhhh it's milk tea(display of attitude)". I ordered a General Tso for my son in which she quickly corrected my pronunciation. By this time I glanced over to my wife and I can clearly see her struggling to holding back giving this waitress a piece of her mind.This place has a digital QRC menu without the option for a physical one which I found to be quite peculiar. The egg rolls we ordered were clearly microwaved and kept refrigerated due to the serving plate being hotter than the actual food and overall bland taste. The broth of spicy Tonkatsu that I ordered was also flavorless with only the taste of spice. Adding soy sauce was the only way I was able to eat this meal 1 out of 5. The General Tso was a 4 out of five. Lastly, the miso soup that my wife ordered was okay but nothing special. 2.5 out of 5. This place has a pretty good layout and overall look but that is quickly diminished by the lack of hospitality, mediocre food and overpricing. read more

The establishment in the inside is very lively. They had college football on the screens. The ambient of the place was very appealing. The service and hospitality was great. There was like only 2 customers inside. I went around 4pm. Best time to get quick service and the food out quickly. The Japanese fried chicken was very delicious. It was something new for me. The food here is actually quite tasty. But the soups/ramen aren't that great. Due to them being short staffed (as most every restaurant is) and the prices, I give them a 4 star. It's very clean and they do make a killer cocktail. But the prices are a little out of hand especially for the portions you receive as we have been here before. Okay for Midland. With not a lot of options around for Ramen I'm honestly glad this place exists, though I don't think it particularly great. The space was nice and staff was relatively attentive. We ordered quite a few items from the menu, including: -Drinks: Honeydew Milk Tea & Peach Fruit Tea - The drinks themselves were tasty but the Boba was terrible. -Appetizers: Takoyaki and Fried Chicken Gyoza - Both were very good! and a Miso soup which was sadly not good -Main Dishes: Tonkatsu Ramen, Grilled Chicken Ramen and Pineapple Basil Fried Rice: The broths for the ramen were not flavorful, we had to mix in soy sauce to make it tastier, but the chashu and marinated egg were good. The fried rice was also decent. Overall, it was good enough that I'd be willing = to come back to try some other items on the menu. Not exaggerating but the worst food and service i have ever gotten at a restaurant. The ramen smelled so bad that the back kitchen employee gagged smelling it when taking it back. The manager, which was a Chinese lady when I told her to take the ramen back she fought back against me, basically arguing that there was no issue with the ramen. She instantly got mad after me telling her the ramen was bad and not edible. She took the ramen back after fighting me about it with zero manners, and then the bill came with only the ramen having a 40% discount. I barely ate anything out of it. DO NOT EAT HERE, the sushi rolls are edible at best if you live in the stone ages, the udon noodles were overcooked, over salted, slimy, and flat out gross. They are so greedy with zero manners and it definitely does not deserve the reviews it has in any area as a business operation. read more

My partner and I were traveling to Midland and knew we'd arrive around 6:30pm. About 30 minutes away from town, we searched Yelp for a highly rated restaurant that offered takeout near the place we were staying. Sapporo fit the bill. We were able to search the menu, place our order, and pay for it online. Our food was ready when we arrived and still hot when we got to our room. Since we were leaving the next morning, we didn't want leftovers and selected items from the appetizer menu. I ordered the vegetable spring roll and steamed veg dumplings. I received 3 spring rolls, and they were amply filled and crispy on the outside without any hint of grease. The dumplings were great! Many places only offer meat-filled versions, so I was happy to nosh on these. I received 6 in my order. My partner selected the standard steamed gyoza, and the shrimp / mixed veg tempura. He received 6 gyoza, 2 shrimp skewers, and a bag of tempura vegetables. He thought everything was tasty. We have occasion to come through Midland a few times per year, and we'll be back to Sapporo. read more
