I thought I would like this place more but honestly it was very average Italian food. If you know what to order, it may be better. We ordered a too large Caesar salad (that was priced more than a pasta?) that was covered with bacon (eh). The Rigatoni "Bolognaise" was small and unrecognizable! And the Spaghetti Pollo was bland and the chef actually forgot to toss it...found all of the pine nuts and sauté at the bottom. Strange. It's fine in a pinch. read more

Food was good. Service was AWFUL. Actually, to be honest, the server was good to begin with, but it went down hill quickly. We poured our own wine bottle. He never checked back with us. We never received a dessert menu. We had to request the check. And we waited....And after feeling quite neglected for quite awhile, we decided to round off the check with cash, with only a 10 percent tip. Apparently Remi, the server was not at all pleased and instead of directing his comments to me, the one paying the check, said to my daughter ... 15 percent is what you should be leaving me and circled the 15% value on the receipt. I went for a quick dinner al fresco and had a really good time. The venue has a great patio, and the service is courteous and efficient. There is a great variety of Italian foods and cocktails. Our kids ordered the mini cheese pizza and each devoured theirs. Wife and I both got a Greek salad, which we felt were on the salty side. Certainly not the type of Greek pizza we would expect being from the US, but it was tasty. This fine restaurant has good food and is located just inside the walls of the old city. We had white pizza with herbs and pesto. The crust was thin and crisp and the sauce and cheese created a unique and definite Mediterranean flavour. We also had San Fransisco chicken with pasta and a cream parmigiana sauce. The pasta was cooked properly and the sauce was not too rich and went well with Australian red wine. The service was prompt and friendly and the price was reasonable. read more

Came in on a Tuesday at 7pm. Slow service for food. Waitor did not apologize even if we waited for more than half an hour. Most people had to wait for as long. Couldnt even get him to come back for me to pay. Pasta came out very bland, nothing special. Would not recommend. read more

We were staying near the restaurant so decided to pop in for dinner before heading to the music at the FEQ. There was a large queue outside where we had to give our names. The hostess had no idea how long we would be waiting nor did she ask where we would like to sit. We complained when a group that arrived after us was seated before us, when we were told that they didn't mind sitting outside; an option we had not been given. The menu was good with a wide variety and the food was very tasty. The service let the restaurant down. Additionally, we could see into the kitchen from where we were sitting and there was some questionable hygiene practices going on... Our group of four American tourists (including a toddler) landed at this restaurant for a light lunch after a nice summer downpour because they had dried off and prepared their terrace seating earlier than other local spots. The outdoor ambiance can't be beat, and we nearly returned for dinner a few hours later simply because of the lovely terrace. The staff was pleasant, accommodating of our English, and helpful with stowing our stroller, though they were a tad slow on account of the sudden post-rain lunch rush. After a long day of touring we just popped in the first place we saw that looked decent Sapristi is located right inside the Quebec City city walls in Rue St Jean (one of the main streets). The inside had a lot of energy and seemed to consist of two fronts joined together at the back. Tables were close together and at times I had trouble hearing my wife. For an appetizer we had the rice balls which had bacon in them and were a little spicier than usual. We both enjoyed. For entrees she had the Sapristi pasts which she finished. I had the Carnivore pizza which was good though little different definitions of pepperoni and Italian sausage if you ask me. All said for 1 appetizer, two entrees plus tax and tip we spent $43 USD and thought it was a good value in a touristy area read more

Great location, cool atmosphere. Outdoor seating in two areas, very European-my daughter was excited on her first Canadian trip. The waitress seemed totally uninterested in serving us right off the bat. 70 minutes later I asked where my daughters pasta with red sauce was, "oh sorry the kitchen is busy" Well 6 couples have eaten and left, and 3 more have come in, ordered and are eating, so it's not the kitchen. The owner realized the issue and offered us our entrees free, which was nice, but it's not thta complicated to make pasta and red sauce in under 2 hours. read more

We were lucky enough to get a seat around dinner time without a reservation because the place was packed. It seemed like you need a reservation even on a week night. Dining room decor is great and there is lovely patio seating outside. Overall, the food was pretty good we had deux saumons pasta and canard (duck) avec ziti. read more

Excellent! We went to the "place across the street" first and tried salads "just in case", and found that we should try another place..which led us to Sapristi! We had the calamari which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside without being the usual rubbery consistency. Next we shared the Carbonara Pizza which was exquisite! We thought that it might be soggy, but no! And they added an egg in the middle to make it perfect! Only opened for 5 months, so glad we happened to go there after a near-miss! The staff are great as well, they and the kitchen sing and interact making it a place to have a great time with friends and enjoy well executed food. The cocktails are a + as well! read more

Penna arrabiata was not even close to the traditional, simple dish. They forgot the spicy part for which it is named! Instead once frozen tomatoes and sliced green olives were abundant and totally lacking in flavor. The greek pizza had so much dried oregano sprinkled on it and was bland .. When asked if they could accommodate a vegan in any way, ANY way, they said no, that their kitchen could not come up with a vegan dish, forcing one of our group to split off and seek refuge at the neighboring Lebanese falafel place, much to our soon to discover envy. Since our orders had already been put in by the time the waitress came back with the anti-vegan proclamation from the chef Boyardee, the rest of us were forced to remain.. The place is otherwise nice inside and out. The greek salad was ok, but how does one mess up a greek salad for $13, one could say the same for a Penne with red spicy sauce. But alas with all the choices in old Quebec steer clear of this adolescent stinker. read more

My husband and I visited old quebec this summer for three days, and we ate twice in the same day at this restaurant. The service was incredible, very friendly. Our onion soup was served in a cast iron deep pan (handle and all) cool, then I had shrimp cocktail served in a tin bucket, very cool and finally I had a raspberry and Baileys crème brule, that was served in a, get this, a clean, white, ceramic ashtray, it was weird but cool, most people would of had a fit, we saw it as different. We didn't make a fuss about it, we just had a good laugh. The service was so good, and the crème brule was the best I have ever had, seriously. We recommend you try it out, and I hope your crème brule is served in an ashtray, otherwise, mine was a mistake. By the way, the number one reason we went for lunch and then went back for supper, their mason jar mojitos are flipping awesome. read more

We ordered a Caesar salad to replace the hair-ridden Greek salad, and unfortunately the manager, Jean Matthieu, suggested the hair was a "small mistake" and refused to replace the order free of charge.
