When I first heard about Sara and her team, my friend told me that Sara was her "secret weapon." After having her handle my own wedding I completely agree with that statement. Although Sara was technically only my "month of" coordinator, she really was there for me throughout the entire process. If I had questions on vendors, timing, or even where to buy stuff for the wedding she was always only an email away. So many of our vendors were just so great and they were all recommendations from Sara. The month of the wedding, Sara basically took over all of our logistics. All of those big question marks I had on how things would get done and be taken care of she did it all! She made contact with all vendors and organized a timeline down to the minute. She is not only organized and knowledgeable about all wedding things related, but she is also very creative and gave us some of the best ideas for our wedding that guests are still complimenting us on. I would love to take the credit, but as I tell everyone, it was all Sara. When the wedding day came, my husband, our families and myself were able to just let go, because we knew Sara and her team had it more than under control. We got married on a day that hit record temperatures at 110 degrees in NYC. During that entire time, Sara and her teams worked so hard to keep us comfortable and cool. They were standing there, putting ice packs on everyone with a big smile on all of their faces. At the venue, her team set everything up for us: delivering the hotel bags, unpacking our centerpieces, organizing our candy bar. At the end of the night, they not only collected everything, but brought it all to our apartment THAT NIGHT so we didn't have to go back to the venue the next day! She took care of all the gratuity envelopes for my parents so that they could enjoy the wedding and not worry about who they had to tip. People tell you before you get married to just be prepared for something to go wrong the day of, because it most certainly will. While planning our wedding, my husband and I came across a catering company based in Brooklyn and reached out. We were contacted by Sara, and from our first phone call, it was apparent she was going to be amazing. She immediately presented genuine interest in us and our needs - at no point did we ever feel like we were just more 'business' for her. She is a consummate professional, in that she tended to have an answer for questions before we knew we were going to ask them, and is so personable we felt completely comfortable in her capable hands. We came to these conclusions BEFORE we even met her in person at our tasting, where she proved to be all these things and more. She led us through a delightful, charming evening of food and conversation, further concreting our knowledge that we'd chosen the absolute best person to work with. She introduced us to a wonderful rental company to provide all our furnishings and decor, and was with us through the whole process, providing great insight and directives on how to make our evening all the more beautiful. There was minimal work on our end because of her commitment, and she was aligned with the catering - we didn't hire her directly as a planner! She took care of so many things that we didn't even realize we'd need to take care of, and it made a drastic difference in how much effort was required on all parts. Cut to the day of the wedding - she met us at the venue, helped us set up our personal decor, managed the setup of the space, managed the team working the event - in short, she made our night go off without a hitch. We could not have had a better experience, from inception to conclusion, had we not been able to work with Sara. To sum up, Sara's drive and enthusiasm to go above and beyond for her clients and her passion for the work are but a few of her stand-out qualities. SL Events provided partial planning services for our wedding this past June at the Metropolitan Club. I can't underscore enough the degree to which Sara went above and beyond to ensure that the day was absolutely perfect. She spent countless hours in the months leading up to the wedding advising and helping us with everything down to the smallest detail, from building out a detailed schedule of the day, managing the band, photographers and other vendors, to making sure that my grandmothers had comfortable chairs to watch our first dance up close and coordinating props for our photo booth. Sara is extraordinary steady and calming, and was a joy to work with from day one. SL Events came to me as a referral from my best friend who recently got married. My (now) husband and I had a call with Sara and immediately knew we needed her help with our wedding. As a newly engaged couple, we started to dive into the wedding planning process thinking we could handle it on our own. It quickly became evident to us we would need help! We LOVED every minute and every aspect of our wedding, and we wouldn't have been able to do it without Sara. My daughter had her wedding at 99 Scott in Bushwick, an open event space. First off, the people at 99 Scott were extremely accommodating and the venue is super cool. But when you plan something in an event space, everything has to be brought in and coordinated. Enter Sara Landon, she did an amazing job. She came on board a month before the wedding and immediately started pulling all the pieces together. No problem was too big for Sara, including moving a car that blocked the entrance. She literally had it fork-lifted. Amazing. The day of the event, it wasn't just Sara, it was her team of three assistants with headsets coordinating every aspect of the day. And it's a long day, we got to the site at 7 am, ceremony at 1, reception at 3 and clean up at 7:30. People didn't finish packing up till 9:30. Sara had the most positive, optimistic, can-do attitude and kept everyone moving forward and happy. Sara Landon has now catered two events at our NYC apartment: one was a brunch for 90, and the other was a seated, multi-course dinner for 40. Given the numbers and the restricted space, both events presented considerable logistical challenges; Sara was unfailingly accurate in her predictions and ability to make both situations work (and work well). She dealt beautifully with host anxiety (of which there was plenty), and was wonderful at dealing also with the last minute issues which arose (of which there were a few). Her staff was both professional and unflappable, as well as polished and personable. In addition, I found her pricing quite reasonable. I cannot speak highly enough of Sara. She oversaw the bus coordination, vendor coordination and payments, ceremony planning, hotel gift bags, and a number of other things that we didn't even know we needed. She even made some incredible last minute suggestions that made the ceremony an even more magical experience.
