They were able to take me, but it seems that I had to be fit in, and that took about an hour for me to be seen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The vibe was calm and nice and I can see they have a lot of return customers. Unfortunately, I didn't like my nails! They were really bland (I love designs). I wanted ombré, which I've usually done with a mini-spray painter, but the woman who saw me said she didn't have enough experience and didn't want to try, which made me disappointed. She tried with a sponge instead, but it looked horrendous! So, I ended up getting acrylic and got two different gel polishes put on top. I usually like a minimalist accent design, and the work that I asked for (basically a V on one nail) was done poorly. I was not happy about my nails at all, but bit the price. Honestly, I'm surprised at how many return clients there were. It began to chip immediately and as of about three weeks later, one of my acrylic nails completely broke off! I've never experienced that before. As a new customer, I won't return. I'm not sure what was wrong with my technician Naly today, but everything I said I wanted she did the opposite. For starters, she didn't clean my nails/cuticles and went straight to the drill. When she glued the extension on, she didn't ask what length and just cut them SO short. I'm not even sure why she assumed I wanted them short when I'm her regular customer and never never ever get my nails short. After she cut them she asked if the length was okay? Well.. what am I supposed to say now? No it isn't okay? Onto the color- I told her I wanted gel 1 coat Funny Bunny and 2 coats Bubble Bath. She started doing dip on my nails. I said I wanted that shade a couple of times, not sure why she brought the dip powder out. But of course, I'm timid and just let her proceed. Onto the shape- she asked what shape and I said rounded almond. She did almond. No rounded, no nothing. They look extremely terrible and the file job was done so poorly. My left hand nails are shorter than my right hand nails. When I told her it was short, she said "haha it looks more natural though.." I mean what am I supposed to do now? Clearly she had customer after customer and I wasn't about to make her redo my nails because she didn't listen to me the first time around. My nails are crusty, not properly groomed, poorly shaped and filed. I'm so disappointed. These were supposed to be my birthday nails and they're ruined. *UPDATE* I reached out to Naly again and told her that I was very disappointed in her job today and the nails were too short and I asked if she could redo them. She said I would have to pay again, which honestly I shouldn't have hence bumping this review down to 4 stars. Luckily she had time available for me early morning Friday and she did a much better job and kept my nails longer than I wanted just for my birthday event. She mentioned I can come back after and she'll shape and refile them shorter free of charge! Fast forward a couple of days and she reshaped and filed them to the perfect length! The place owner replied and asked to come back in to fix the horrible job that had been done on my nails by Rosa.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had come in, the Saturday after to "fix" the nails. Lida, started to work on my nails and file down the bump on each nail, although I already had some nails lifting, she just added glue to the nail and that was "fixed". A day later it started to lift again and today I had to cut them all down because they started to lift and they all hurt. It's hard for me to justify getting a pedicure because I think I can do a similar quality job for free, so I was a little heart broken to pay $45 for my basic pedicure (no gel). Got my nails done here with my sister over the holidays and was pleasantly surprised. I'd never heard of this salon, but service was quick and relatively inexpensive. Staff were wonderful and very accommodating. Both of us had gel manicures, which turned out wonderfully. They had an array of options for mani/pedi. The quality was great. I started with a lady but she ended up going home early that day so, Natathlie took over ... and I'm so glad she did! She rocks my nails EVERY TIME she does them!! I mean look at her work! I get SNS dip nails with some intricate design I find on Pinterest and gel on my toes. She never disappoints! She always takes her time and does them just the way I like. I have been looking for a good nail salon in the Bethesda/ Rockville/Gaithersburg area for quite some time. I came here based off of yelp reviews. I scheduled an appt with Sarah for a Wednesday afternoon. I had a horrible full set that was fairly new but the last fill in was so bad. The acrylic was lifting and it was just horrible. Sarah took the time to remove the acrylic and do an entire new set for me. My original appt. was for a fill in but she was kind enough to spend an additional 20 mins removing the old set. She checked in non-stop to make sure she wasn't hurting me. She was so kind and gentle and she made sure to address me by name which is very important to me when receiving a service. I was very pleased with the set Sarah did. The shape was exactly what I asked for. I was finally able to get chrome nails which I've been trying to get forever. I absolutely loved them. I went on my lunch break so I wasn't able to get a pedi that day but returned the following week. The pedi was fairly basic but I was pleased with the end result. I've made an appt. to return. The salon is very clean and spacious, and the entire staff is very warm and welcoming. Not to mention they have a large variety of services in addition to nails. I went there last week for sns with tips. It was done well...she did a good job with the shape and length. But when I was leaving I was told that when you return they take the tips off everytime and that they have to do that with SNS..sounds like a scam to me. First of all...who has time for that? Second of all...that has to be so damaging to your nails...third of all...I'm all my years of getting sns with and without tips..I have never been told something so ridiculous. When I have any important event I ONLY come here! All the ladies are so wonderful, especially Sara, May and Mr. Chris. They take excellent care of their customers, and I love coming back! This year May helped me arrange two group nail appointments for my ladies-for my bridal shower, and for my wedding. For my wedding Sara, May and Chris blocked off a few hours for me to treat my cousins, mom and aunt. We were a group of 11, and we had so much fun- relaxed, brought & ate treats, and got ready for my big day. It was a mini celebration, and pampering session. They accommodated my whole group and took care of all of the most important ladies in my life. Everyone had beautiful manicures and pedicures for the wedding. Only getting 3 stars because my cuticles were done extremely well! Everything else was a miss for me. Gel mani was subpar. I had a polish bubble which turned into a clear spot (missing polish), the gel color changed and looked dingy and faded after 3 days. My pedicure, the polish wasn't done all the way to the base of my toenails. Really disappointing. I don't find many salons to have a standard or excellence, instead just rushing through the job to finish whether well done or not. I had to ask the nail tech to smooth my nails several times as she applied the gel polish unevenly and my nails and raised bumps and hills changing the height of the nail on one side. Then she got an attitude when I asked to smooth it! As if I'm not PAYING for work that should be done well without having to ask. I will not return unless for a simple manicure/cuticle clipping, no polish. read more
