Service is good, the staff are nice and friendly! I went at around 2-ish, so the selection was limited, but there was still a decent amount. The staff said that the best time to go is between 9-10AM because that is when they still have the entire selection. It's a grab and go spot, so there is no seating. Maybe you're sick of those 5 dollar, cereal-encrusted hipster pastries? You know, the ones that resemble a donut only by the fact of being round? Maybe also you're sick of those donut recipes that are so sickening sweet, the richness will turn you queasy in the Georgia sun. Retrieve your sanity at Sarah Donuts, by far my favorite in the city. I'm not exaggerating either. They have a different philosophy on their main recipes, more similar to donuts I would eat in Texas when I lived there in a previous life. They should be light, fluffy, and the glaze should not be too sweet. The pastry should not linger in your mouth, and eating two of them should satisfy but not weigh you down at all. They opened a shop in Decatur sometime around 2018/2019 and have survived the pandemic alongside a constellation of locations outside the city on the north end. Look for the giant pink donut that's visible from the Clairmont/North Decatur intersection. The interior is friendly and colorful, with the product occupying a small glass case in the center. There are maybe 20 variations for sale, including jalapeno/cheese kolaches. That's a pig in a blanket for you Atlantans, and it's why I'm guessing the owners have also previously lived in Texas, too. I usually order a nice chocolate peanut, or a chocolate glazed sour cream. The dough is so light, it might as well be floating. The sour cream dough is just a little crispy, as God himself intended. Get some nice coffee to wash 'em down too; you know, treat yourself. read more

I consider myself a donut enthusiast. I've tried many and let me tell you, I've never had donuts this soft. We got them early in the morning and I'm finally able to eat them at 12:54am. They're still soft and fluffy! How is this possible, amazing! Their flavors are amazing. I've ordered thru Uber Eats twice now. I don't think I'll order online again. The first time, I ordered the $19 dozen mix. I had a requested a few specific donuts (a chocolate bar, a maple bar and a old fashion). For this I was UP charged to $40. Keeping the first experience in mind and being told to order FANCY if I want specific ones like my chocolate bar. I ordered the Fancy mix for $25. I don't like filled donuts or ones with strawberry. So once again (as a pregnant momma w/a craving atp) I asked for chocolate bar, maple bar, old fashion instead. How about I got 3 SPRINKLE STAR SHAPED DONUTS instead of the swap I asked for. I'm NOT HAPPY. Is it a big deal? No. But if I followed the menu like I said and y'all set the expectation to make a request why don't you honor that? They also had a cold case with milk! This is a must for any donut place. Delightful. Every bite was delicious. I'd seen someone post about this spot but didn't realize there were several locations. My first attempt to try was a bust as they were already sold out. So, I made sure to get there earlier on my 2nd visit. I got Strawberry Iced, Glazed and Lemon Filled. I think I had another flavor but can't remember. Is it bad that I ate 4/6 the same day? ‍ They weren't too sweet or too doughy. I enjoyed them. The last two, I ate for breakfast. I prob could've nuked them for a few seconds to re-soften them a bit but they were still good. If donuts pass the overnight test, that's a win in my book. I don't think they would survive 3 or more days out, but seriously...who takes that long to eat donuts right. I will definitely go again.
