This is my go-to donut shop on the way to work on those days where I just need a sweet treat. They aren't quite as adventurous as some other donut shops in terms of seasonal offerings, but they do a mean apple fritter and sour cream old fashioned. The donuts are cheap, $1-2 depending on the variety you get, and they have a case of milk and drinks if you need them. Pro tip: bring cash or order more than a couple donuts, they stick to their $4 card minimum religiously...if you just want one donut, you're stuck between choosing to leave a couple dollar tip or ordering several donuts and a milk, which takes your morning from productive to food coma. The staff is friendly but they don't overdo it, which is nice. The gentleman sometimes sneaks in a donut hole or two with your order if you get him on the right day. They're also not open on Sundays, which has bummed me out on multiple occasions, so take note! read more

Have been enjoying Sarah's Donuts for several years. Can't ever pass them up when in neighborhood. Have to say their glazed donuts are the best I've had. Not usually a cake donut fan but their Red Velvet donuts to savor as a wonderful treat. Cinnamon twist are unique and mouth meltingly wonderful. read more

FIRST COME FIRST SERVE! My wife and I go here on occasion at 5:30am. This morning the woman who generally takes most of the orders, rudely began helping a woman who walked in 1/2 way through us ordering. Rude, rude, rude! Never tipping again! Rude! Attention Sarah Donuts! U don't stop serving the clients who were already in the middle of choosing donuts, to help a rude woman who said she "ordered the night before ". Who cares if she ordered the night before, u wait till you stop serving the first client, then u help the next. It's a simple business concept and you failed! Not a happy regular client! read more

I've heard about them for some time. And I've seen a few of their shops pop up recently. They must do good business ‍. Yes they do! I was headed to the city for a long day and decided to stop. The staff is so sweet! There was so much to take in. The donuts looked sensational! I decided to try their sour cream. It was even better than it looked. Moist, flavorful and not too sugary. This was one of the best places I have ever gotten my donuts from. I have been recommended to go to this place and try it out, and the flavors were so unique! I LOVED the red velvet glazed donut and the cinnamon twist, and I would personally go back to get another one again. This place opens at 5 am, so the items are in high demand and run out quick. The donuts were also at a remarkably great price, please try this area out when you have the chance! read more

I visited this location this morning. I ordered the cinnamon roll, a plain donut, and a Bavarian cream donut. I don't know what I expected, but they were wonderful. Soft, fresh, and tasty!!! I will be visiting again!! I wish I would have taken a picture, but they didn't stand a chance. read more

I should be ashamed of myself (but I'm not)! I came here right after working out to celebrate national donut day. I was so happy to hear that they recently opened a location in Decatur because their other locations are pretty far from my house. Parking is plentiful and free. The shop is small, bright, clean and has a few tables for customers. They offer complimentary coffee, but I don't drink it so I didn't partake. The two ladies at the register greeted me promptly and were friendly. Everything looked good, but I opted for a red velvet, glazed and a sour cream doughnut. My first bite was the glazed and I was in total shock. It was so good! The red velvet was rich and delicious. The sour cream was fantastic as well. These were by far some the best doughnuts I've ever tasted. They were all soft and fresh. Thank God they close at 2 because this would be a real problem for me knowing they're around the corner from the gym I frequent. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I was blown away by how good the doughnuts were. I cannot wait to return and try more delicious doughnuts. read more

Cute spot in a big plaza and busy intersection. Very quiet. When you walk in there's cute chairs and decor. Tv screens to display prices and options. Came in on an early Tuesday not many people around. Ordered a half dozen assorted and a few extra cinnamon rolls. Now when I say these cinnamon rolls were so soft and not overly sweet they were sooo good. She might have been the owner but she was very nice. Super nice selection of donuts. Will definitely be back if in the area. Place was clean plenty of parking. read more

So delicious!!! If you've never been to a Sarah Donuts you need to go right now (if they're closed wait until they open). I finally got a chance to go to this location and it didn't disappoint. Took me forever to try because there lines are always so long in the morning but I did and it surpassed my expectations. They aren't one of those donut shops loaded up with toppings and an overwhelming amount of sugar, these are just basic well made donuts. The glaze beat any other glaze I have ever had. There is not a single donut I've tried that I don't like. Any time I bring them into work they disappear well before noon. I was even surprised to like the jelly filled donuts which I don't typically. They take glazed donuts and stuff them right in front of you with whichever flavor you choose. Hey there! So I was feeling really good this morning and decided to be the cheer bringer this morning. Someone always rotates the donut schedule at work and I was looking for something no one has bought. I came across Sarah donuts and what do you know! They were fantastic. Fresh soft awesomeness wrapped in a cute little box. The chocolate sauce dropped off a few Boston Creme's making it a Delight for the rest. I personally haven't eaten one in the daytime because I've been fasting but from what others have mentioned - they are something spectacular and I will try mine this evening. OMG Sarah!! These donuts are amazing. I was leaving my massage appointment and was heading home and I was pondering what to eat for breakfast and out the corner of my eye I spot this shop. I did a u-turn and went in. I order a half dozen donuts. 5 yeast and 1 cake. They yeast donuts literally melt in your mouth and they was fresh. Sarah Donuts may not be very fancy but they're kind-to-the-wallet and can satisfy your desire for those circular doughy objects. The glazed options are a little too saccharine for me, but the cake choices are more my speed. Try the red velvet and blueberry. Basic donuts will run less than a buck, and some of the fancier options are around $1.29. Go early to ensure you get what you want. Also, look for free samples on the counter. Service is exceptional. Once pre-caffeine me spaced out and left my small coffee ($1.59) at the shop. One of the employees chased me down to bring me my abandoned cup. I was totally impressed and super grateful. This local chain is open 5:30 AM to 2:30 PM daily except Sundays. There is a credit card minimum. Find Sarah in the North Decatur Plaza betwixt Finders Keepers and Bullgogi. read more

I have stopped by Sarah's a couple times. The first time, it was close to closing so there was not much selection left. I had more luck on the second visit and was able to pick up a variety of donuts. They included Glazed Glazed Twist Blueberry Cake Cinnamon Roll Apple Fritter Sunflower I did ask what the different was between cinnamon roll and sunflower was as they seemed so similar. The response was that the sunflower was more cinnamon-y. Glazed donuts, blueberry, and cinnamon roll were pretty good. The sunflower was AMAZING. I will be getting that everytime I go now. My mom had the apple fritter and really enjoyed it. I wish you could select your donuts for delivery. They do assorted mixes. I mean, I get it. But I won't be able to purchase as there are only specific donuts that I am interested in. read more

Atlanta has some fierce donut competition, but Sarah Donuts is my absolute favorite. While the donuts aren't innovative and fancy, they are consistently delicious and the pricing is perfect. Also, I have loved every single flavor I have tried. The service is also incredible. I ordered 6 dozen assorted donuts for an event and they gave us everything from cinnamon rolls to jelly filled and they were a huge hit and the pricing was around $1/donut, which is unheard of. I literally thought they rang it up wrong but she assured me it was correct. My favorite flavors are red velvet and the double chocolate!! I also love the different donut merchandise they have in the store, it makes a trip there very fun! read more

The donuts here are the best donuts I've ever had. My first experience with Sarah Donuts was after a coworker had brought half a dozen to work. I couldn't stop myself and ate 4 donuts in one sitting - I have no regrets. They are that addicting. Sarah Donuts is a Korean mom and pop donut shop. They have several locations including Suwanee, Duluth, Norcross, and Cumming. This location is in the North Decatur Plaza a few doors down from Suno's. It is a small shop - there are a few tables and chairs for seating but most people purchase their items to-go. It's not really a place to sit down and study/do some work. All of their donuts are reasonably priced. You can easily get a donut here for under a $1. The cake donuts are $.89, or $9 for a dozen. Their fancy donuts, pastries, sunflower donuts, and sausage rolls range from $1.29 - $2.50. They sell coffee here too for less than $2 and they have a fridge full of other beverages such as milk and juice. All the donuts here are good, but be sure to try any of their cake donuts! I was surprised to find that their cake donuts aren't dry like other donuts I've had in the past. They have that perfect cake moisture/consistency. Red Velvet Glazed - My favorite donut is their Red Velvet GLAZED Donut (not to be confused with their fancy red velvet donut, which is not glazed). I highly recommend this one. Sour Cream Donut - This donut is interesting, but in a good way. The best way I can describe it is that it tastes like a glazed donut, it is still sweet - but creamier and more rich. Apple Fritter - This thing is huge. I thought it would be incredibly but but it's not! It's delicious and fresh with good cinnamon flavor - honestly the best apple fritter I've ever had. Plain Cake Donut, Blueberry Cake Donut, Glazed Cake Donut, Cinnamon Cake Donut, and the Cinnamon Stick are all delicious as well. You really can't go wrong with any of the donuts here. Service is great! The store owner is very kind and sweet. I will most definitely keep coming back. Note: There is a $5 card minimum. Store hours are from 5:30AM - 2:00PM Monday - Saturday. They are closed on Sundays. read more

How much do I love these donutes? let me count thy way?!?!1 There is nothing super FANCY SCHMANZY with the donuts, but donuts are not supposed to be that way. I want to taste the donut and not sugar upon sugar. Some of the reasons why I love this place: 1) The ladies who work here are the sweetest and you can tell that they really do care. 2) FRESH donuts. There is a reason why they close by 2ish everyday. No one wants an oldish donut. 3)Filled donuts. None of those pre-filled ones. You tell them what flavor you want and watch them fill it. 4) Chocolate sour cream donut. Just leaving that there. AMAZING! 5) Everything!! ok....so if I could change one thing, but really my waistline is telling me NO! is that they are closed on Sundays. I don't know why, but I wish they were open on Sundays. This was my AMAZING. They fill the cream filled donuts right in front of you, so it's fresh! Donuts are very affordable and delicious. The coffee is perfect. Hubster and I have passed by Sarah Donuts a few times, but have not been able to stop in since they close at 2. We finally dropped in one day after leaving the gym. The shop is cute and clean. I think we were served by the owner who was equally sweet and adorable. The donuts and price of the donuts were displayed on TVs in front of the display case. From a price point, the donuts were all very reasonably priced. Hubster and I ordered 2 donuts. We got a chocolate glaze and a sunflower. The donuts were DELICIOUS. Light, fluffy, and super fresh. The chocolate glaze was the perfect combination of chocolate and fluffy dough. It was not overly doughy or taste like oil. I loved the sunflower. It had a crispy sugar glaze and taste like a hybrid between a honey bun and a cinnamon roll. Soooo frigging good! I recommend this place over Sublime. The only con I see are the short hours. Also don't do what I did and eat an entire sunflower donut in one go. I was feeling a sugar high and slightly too full. read more

I've never been a huge lover of doughnuts, although I do enjoy treating myself to them every now and then, but I see now that it's because I've never had Sarah Donuts. Sarah Donuts is a popular doughnut shop in the Atlanta area with at least 5 different locations OTP, and this location in Decatur is their first ITP location. YES! I am so happy they opened up so close because these doughnuts are delicious! I arrived a little later in the day (in doughnut time) around noon, but there was still a very large selection of doughnuts available to choose from. Each doughnut I tried was still very soft and fresh. I highly recommend the glazed red velvet cake doughnut and the lemon filled doughnuts. Their lemon filling isn't extremely tart, but it's not too sweet either which I absolutely love! My jaws tend to clench whenever I bite into a lemon filled doughnut that is either too tart or too sweet, but that was not the case at all for the one I had here! Customer service was fantastic as well. The two ladies who were running the shop while we were there were extremely sweet and stayed smiling the entire time. This is a small shop with about 3-4 tables that can seat 2-4 individuals and one large table that can seat 6-8 if I recall correctly. I didn't notice any complimentary wi-fi available yet, so it may not be the best place to swing by to get any work done. This is a very convenient location inside the same plaza as Rainbow Natural Foods, Bullgogi, Suno's, Mediterranean Grill, etc. The plaza can get a little crowded, but I've never had an issue with finding parking here. So happy to have this little doughnut gem located ITP now, although I may frequent here more often than I should lol. That's alright though--doughnuts fuel the gains. read more

The donuts are somehow decadent but not too overwhelming (my mom can't really eat sweets because of her stomach issues, and she says these are the only donuts that don't make her feel sick). In addition to donuts, they also have really great coffees, teas, and breakfast sandwiches. But apart from the food, the standout feature of Donnie's is the owners! Patty and Donald are amazing - there's usually one of them working at a time, and they're such a joy. The staff as well are always friendly, upbeat, and super helpful. There's also large couches that make it a great spot to just chill out after a day on the beltline. Highly recommend!

If there's anything I've learned as a lifelong donut enthusiast, it's that looks can sometimes be deceiving. This was exactly my experience when I first discovered Sarah Donuts. This neighborhood gem, famed for its remarkable affordability, had a surprise in store for me and my 3-year-old son one rainy Monday morning before school. Walking in, we were greeted by a display of donuts that, honestly, looked rather generic at first glance. But as they say, the proof of the pudding (or should I say donut?) is in the eating. We decided to dive in, and boy, are we glad we did! I had the pleasure of trying their apple fritter, chocolate frosted donut, and the delightfully bite-sized donut holes. Despite their humble appearance, these donuts packed a punch with their taste. The apple fritter had a satisfyingly crispy outside and a soft, apple/cinnamon interior. The chocolate frosted donut was a delicious blend of fluffy dough and rich chocolate frosting that didn't overwhelm with sweetness. Meanwhile, my son held onto his pink frosted (likely strawberry, but he wouldn't share, so I can't confirm) donut as if it was his prized possession. His look of pure bliss with each bite was worth the trip alone!
