So, I am a bit of a hair snob. I would rather go with long, strangly split ends and a bottle dye job before I let some hack cut and dye my hair. After trying trendy stylists in the City and paying $300 for mediocre hair styles or having my hair destroyed by less expensive Pacifica alternatives, I decided to try Shine after reading the glowing reviews on Yelp. AND! Sarah is only down the street. After my first visit I knew I was in love. Sarah took the time to listen to what I wanted. She made suggestions as she saw fit and didn't reprimand me for going back to the bottle (hair dye that is). There is always this strange few moments once you get into a new stylist's chair, you know that moment that transitions from speaking politely and professionally about your hair and then forced rapport. Well there was none of that with Sarah. She was sweet, fun and professional from the get go. It was almost like we had been friends already, or at least pretty good acquaintances. I have been to see Sarah three times now and even let her dye my hair this last visit. She was conscientious about my budget and my hair came out fantastic. Weeks after having it cut I am still getting compliments. Her shop is very mod and trendy, she takes pride in what she does and is a consummate professional. Just tried this place out about a week ago. I had medium length hair and had her cut it short. I don't regret this at all. She did a great job and really listened to what I wanted. She was very nice and her salon is small but very elegant and relaxing. I will def be returning to this salon and Sarah is very personable. I have frizzy, dry hair that breaks super easy so of course I was scared to get any treatment but to my surprise my hair was soft, manageable, super beautiful and has grown to lengths I never thought possible. I can't wait to get another one!!! I also get my color and cuts with Sarah and no matter what I want she nails it every time, I especially love how she does my no fuss highlights and covers my grey.
