Without a doubt, the best dental office I have been to. The service is top notch and the quality of care I get is amazing. I used to be super fearful of the dentist because of trauma from when I was a child; I wouldn't even be able to sit still while getting my teeth cleaned because I would be so nervous of anything even touching my teeth! The office is stunning and the staff is awesome. I recently got my cleaning done by Mandy and she did such a great job. My teeth feel so nice and clean and it didn't hurt at all. I had stains on my teeth from drinking so much green tea and matcha and she was able to remove all the stains without having to do any bleaching. I'm still in awe of how white and stain-free my teeth are. She did this quick and painless procedure called "sand-blasting" to help get rid of the stains. I had an appointment at Sarah Winter Dental on Ivanhoe Avenue in La Jolla yesterday and it was one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had at a dental office. I was warmly greeted by Shelby and Amy and the front desk. Within minutes the Dental Assistant Alex came and got me and brought me back to the treatment room. Within seconds Dr. Sophia Aramoon, DDS was next to me explaining what procedure I would be undergoing that morning. Before I knew it the procedure was over, a permanent filling being put into place replacing a temporary filling, and I was on my way. Absolutely no pain whatsoever and it was over before I knew it. I am one of those that dreads going to the dentist. Like seriously! I have it marked on my calendar and hope for any excuse to cancel my appointment. To no avail, I had my teeth cleaning appointment this Thursday. Upon arriving, I was warmly greeted by Amy and the front office staff. They were so welcoming! There's also a lot of little goodies in the waiting room. I didn't wait too long to see a smiling Julie come walking in and ease my anxiety of having my teeth cleaned. Julie was extremely professional and caring. She read my entire dental history, eased any concern I had and answered every single question. I'm prone to bleeding while getting my teeth cleaned and it's extremely uncomfortable for me. I didn't even realize she started, her touch was that delicate! Dr Charlotte then came in during my cleaning and examined my teeth. We even had a chuckle when I wrote on the medical form I was stressed on a level of 9.3. I wasn't expecting them to pick up on that joke, but that shows how thoroughly they care to review every piece of information. Dr Charlotte took the time to review my x-rays and address all the areas of concern. I was blown away how caring and comfortable Dr Charlotte, Julie and the front office made me feel. Never in my life have I been to a dental visit and looked forward to it. Dr. Winter literally is an outstanding amiable person who is very welcoming and understanding. You can tell a lot about a business owner from the way they treat their employees.This felt more like a family household than an establishment. Talk about "girl power"! I started my "veneer" search about 2 years ago, and finally made my in person appointment with Dr. Winter in January. She was the ONLY in person I attended, I didn't feel the need to waste anyone else's time. She checked every mark I had. The moment you walk into her office, you immediately feel comfortable (who ever does at a dentist, let's be honest). The ENTIRE team was incredibly sweet and accommodating and Dr. Winter, she's an angel on earth! I love her holistic natural approach (exactly what I wanted) The one thing I have noticed in my multiple appointments is she truly remembers the things you say (age of my daughter, my multiple businesses, TV shows we watch, etc) and treats you like a human and not a patient. She over exceeded my temporaries, so when I got my permanents today, I was almost speechless. I couldn't be happier, they couldn't be more perfectly "me". When you go to get your teeth cleaned you usually get that. But, when you go to Sarah Winter Dental and have the pleasure of seeing Nicole the hygienist you might just get a great recommendation that will change your life. I did. I was suffering from yet another sinus infection when I went in and Nicole told me about a product that she started using for nasal issues. Nicole has little ones at home that bring kiddie cooties to share plus she is working in close proximity to patients who might be suffering from something. It is a spray, inexpensive, available through Amazon, so I tried it. AMAZING relief. The post nasal drip, gone, no more infections, going on six months. I showed it to my ENT and he said there was nothing that would hurt me and to keep on with it. The main point is at Sarah WInter Dental you get to meet great staff who really care about the entire you, not just teeth. Sarah, Nicole, and the entire staff make La Jolla a greater place to live. I have EXTREME dental phobia due to a lifetime of inferior dental care. I have had root canals, tooth extractions, implants, gum disease... You name it, I have had to deal with it. I found Dr. Winter on Yelp while looking up dentists who provide sedation. I had my teeth cleaned with a laser, not the usual whirling dental tool and metal scraping of what little enamel off that I have. This laser treatment was AMAZING! No gagging on foaming fluoride, no puffy bleeding gums when the treatment was finished. The cleaning was quick and efficient! After my quick and easy cleaning, I briefly met Dr. Winter, who spent a few minutes discussing my next appointment. She will then present a treatment plan that will hopefully be affordable and pain free! I know I have a lot of decay to deal with and with sedation, I can have all of my teeth repaired in one or two appointments. The office staff was kind and understanding of my terror when I walked through the door. The office is a soothing environment with comfortable chairs and up to date magazines. I only spent a few moments here because the hygienist was right on time. The treatment rooms are state of the art and the chairs are comfortable when completely reclined. Any one with with severe phobias, please do yourself a favor and give Dr. Winter and her team a try. You will be absolutely satisfied with the entire team. read more
