We had a great time here on a recent trip to Lake Placid. The pontoon boat was easy to reserve online in advance, and the Marina staff answered questions quickly via email. My group of friends arrived Friday with a late car stopping in just a little before midnight. We decided not to cross the lake as the weather would be unpredictable and conditions unsafe. Mike was there and offered us great recommendations for places nearby to stay for cheap as well as great local bars/restaurants to check out. The next day when we arrived Mike was able to help transport our supplies to the campsite while we canoed over. (And even picked everything up on Sunday when we called.) We drove six hours for a vacation in Saranac & ordered a boat rental online. We booked the boat over a month prior to the rental date & got a confirmation email the week of the rental. We show up to the marina and are told there's no boat to rent. The staff provided no advice or offered to help in any way. If I could give a zero star rating I would. read more

Our group of 7 rented 3 canoes and had a fantastic weekend rowing around the lake and camping on one of the islands. Mike and his team were super nice and accommodating. He was making jokes with us the whole time too! They answered our many, many questions and gave us a lot of tips to ensure that we had a good time. Rented a pontoon with our three friends on July 4th. Amazing experience! The price was 100% worth it for 8 hours on a gorgeous lake. We checked in and they gave our friend who was driving a practice run/instructions. We were able to bring our dog and own cooler on. They have an ice machine there if needed. Awesome Bluetooth speaker and plenty of space for lounging. Huge awning provided shade when we were anchored, and we were able to explore the islands/ chat with locals and swim the whole day. The staff were quick and efficient getting us docked and took COVID very seriously using appropriate precautions and enforcing social distancing/mask wearing which we all really appreciated. We're from Buffalo and will absolutely make the 6 hour drive again to rent from the Marina! Would highly recommend. Special kudos to Adam who was patient and informative with our many calls and questions about the rental. The young man who helped us get checked in was also very pleasant and professional. read more

Great Service, Great Prices, and very understandable. I must say that this is probably one of the better boat rental places in Saranac Lake. The process to reserve the 20HP Lund Fishing boat was very simple. They promised to deliver the boat at 10AM the first morning we came up to Rainbow Lake - they came at 9:30AM which is perfect. I wish I knew what the guys name was who brought the boat. I know that he was similar to my age around 28 or so with a beard. He was absolutely one of the most professional individuals I have dealt with in the boating rental businesses. He had a very nice demeanor but was also very bright. He brought the boat right into the water and docked it for us. He explained the the charges up front if we were to damage the propeller on the boat and etc. Unfortunately, for the first time in 15 years, we actually did do some damage to the propeller and corner bracket of the boat. The guy was very understandable and got us the prices up front for both damaged areas. We of course knew we were going to pay for it and we aren't those type of people to complain. We accepted full responsibility and we paid for the reasonable prices for the minor damage. Anyways, if I don't decide a boat by next year, I will be using Saranac Lake Marina again for the same 20hp fishing boat. Thanks again. read more

Don't believe anything these people tell you. We called ahead and asked to reserve pontoons and were informed that we didn't need a reservation because they would have plenty available. We arrived Friday and guess what? No pontoons available. Then they told us they'd give us the half day price and gave us a motor boat and said a pontoon would be available the next day. Come back the next day and they told us the one pontoon that came back was broken so we had to stick with the motor boat. Came back to pay the next day and they conveniently forgot that they told us they'd only charge us the half day for the first boat. They told us that only applied to the pontoon, but since it was broken and we didn't get it, now we had to pay full day. Horrible. Will be renting from their competitors in the future. read more

We rented canoes to get over to our campsite and the staff was unbelievably helpful. Mike gave us great recommendations of places to stay when we couldn't make it over the first night, was extremely patient with us, and gave us sound advice. My boyfriend and I rented a boat from the marina and once we completely packed it up and got out of the general vicinity of the docks our boat stalled then shut off. I called the marina after a few minutes and the man who originally helped us was by our sides within 5 minutes fixing the problem (our fault, we blocked the gas line) and then followed us to our site to make sure everything was fine. Totally thrilled with the service. Firewood came with the rental and has been burning great. This has all made our first night smooth. I plan on using them every time I return to vacation here. read more

I was very happy I was able to get a boat from this marina as my boat was not in working order for my camping trip and everyone else was booked, the price was great too 1200 for a week! Well I rented it Sunday and wanted to return Saturday, issue one was they could drop off at fish creek pond which is weird since Swiss can, issue two after scheduling a drop off at fish creek they called to tell me there was an issue I couldn't get it tmrw I have to take it today as well as the state boat launch which is not the biggest deal. The trim on the boat goes up and down in neutral but not in gear over 2mph. We called and basically got told it could be a fuse we could live with it or bring back to boat ramp then have them fix and bring back... awesome so we dealt with it. Next issue the delivery guy said "I'm not scheduled weekends for pick up so call Friday and schedule it" called Friday left a message no response called again 3 hours later no one even listened to my voicemail but regardless set it up for 1pm today 7/29/2017 at again the state boat ramp. I called at 105 to ask where they were because I have a 6 hour road trip home, obviously there was yet ANOTHER miscommunication at their wonderful place of business as they said it'll be minimum 30 minutes. I said I'm in a rush can I leave the key since they charged me already, they said no I must stay and wait then they will charge me when they get back.. again I paid and have the receipt as proof. Will be monitoring my credit card statements to confirm they don't steal from me. After the boat was picked up by the same delivery guy who was beyond polite and apologetic he informed us the boats trim isn't even strong enough with the small alternator to trim up while driving and wasn't sure why the idiots at the marina said other wise. He should be in charge here clearly the only employee at all that had a brain read more
