The bad: my Chocolate Mint Oreo Scramble tasted a lot like chocolate and not very minty. I would have preferred it made with vanilla custard, not chocolate. I did not order the Grasshopper Pie Scramble because they add butterscotch and graham crackers to it. A grasshopper pie does not have either of those so I am not sure why Zesty's add them. The Mint Blast sounded like it had too much chocolate added to it, but I probably should have ordered that one as in hindsight it actually looks minty. More bad: my husband's PB Banana Bliss was missing the fudge and did not look like the picture on the menu. Big disappointment. The worst: it took 45 minutes to get our order. All we ordered was custard. There were 3 people waiting to get their food when we walked in, and 2 groups of 2 in front of us in line. That is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for custard or any food, for that matter. Also, 1 of the people waiting when we walked in, asked how long it was going to be to get her food. The cashier gave the customer her food a short time later, got very close to the customer's face and went on a rant about how the food is made fresh. I sure hope the customer contacted management. Completely unacceptable behavior for an employee.

Today we are in wisconsin, visiting family, having coffee to stay at a cafe my grandma recommended we go to. She has my tiny brother, so it's just my dad and I, how things were for 16 years. We work as a team to find free parking. We love doing team things to save a dollar, a minute, or find a loophole. We decide on our coffees, and when the barista asks if we'll have them to stay my dad says yes, which brings a smile to my mind. He suggests we share this berry oat bar thing. One thing I find so charming about his sobriety is his need for sweets. It's somewhere in trainspotting 2 that mark tells spud "you'll always be an addict. You just have to find something else to get addicted to." I think of this when i see him with a big fat bowl of ice cream after dinner and a new exciting hobby every other month. I think of this when I consider what my life might be like if I decide to admit some things to myself sooner than later. But right now it's me and my father, having coffee to stay in cute mugs, no rushing, no changing things, just farting around in a midwest summer.

The cashier looked impatient and he was terribly difficult to both hear and understand; placing my order was made awkward and trying because of the low-quality employee behind the counter. The burger I purchased was not as flavorful as a Culver's burger and certainly had far less meat for a far greater price. Similarly, the chicken tenders taste similar to a Culver's tender but are even more bland than a Culver's tender. When my order was presented at the counter for me to pick-up, instead of delivered to my table as Culver's will do, I found my order incorrect. There were toppings missing from my burger and not placed on the side, as requested. Culver's doesn't make mistakes like this. Everything about this experience was bad. Do not go here. Go to Culver's, or eat at home.
