This practice discharge me after two visits stating they cannot form a meaningful therapeutic relationship with me. This was after I left him a bad review for my first visit upon which I wasn't examined upon. The doctor really didn't ask me any questions I had to provide all the information she really didn't seem to care and I complained about this and left a bad review. Your office manager called me back apologizing profusely. So I went back for a second visit upon the second visit. She finally prescribed a medication and told me to contact them and I didn't need to come back in until my next visit. It's medication wasn't working. So I contacted them through their messaging platform like they asked me too. I told him the medicine wasn't working. She told me there was nothing more that she thought she could do for me. This was simply after a second visit. I wouldn't ask for narcotics or anything like that I simply wanted a medication that would help pain and help the symptoms. So I messaged her back telling her that was not very professional of her. That that is not what a doctor does. The doctors have to tell patient that there's nothing that they don't know anything they can do for them. A doctor should be a diagnostician a woman doctor singing a woman patient should take them seriously about what's going on their bodies, I want to find an answer to help them. I guess they didn't like being confronted and having those questions asked. Because today I received a letter that they don't want to see me anymore. So I would not recommend going to this doctor because it doesn't seem they want to take the time to help patients or find out what's going on. So unless you're gonna bring the money in by getting infusions or other things, I guess you're not for them. You're definitely not for them if you're a woman experiencing different things and what to be taken seriously. Find yourself a better doctor. read more

In reading the reviews on Google for this practice I was expecting excellent care. I was excited this was a practice of mostly women and even though it was a bit of a drive to Sun City I went. My first visit was in 2023 - when my pain first started. While her office staff was mostly wonderful to interact with, Dr. Panthulu was very brief and curt. I wasn't there to make a best friend, but based on the reviews I was definitely expecting something else. She seemed very distracted and rushed, and continued to ask me the same questions repeatedly - like she wasn't listening to my answers. I was in so much pain and I felt very dismissed by her responses. I am in my 40s and she made it seem like I was too young to be in that much pain. I know the population of SSC is older, but I was not expected to be treated this way just because I am younger. I didn't come back for almost 2 years. But the pain and symptoms continued and got worse so I decided to try again and return. This time the labs did show markers for RA and yet she treated me like it was no big deal and probably wasn't actually RA despite the years of pain. She told me I could start some meds for inflammation and "just in case it is early RA" but definitely acted like it was no big deal. I got very little information and left feeling like no one was going to believe how much pain I was in. So I found another Rheumatologist. This new doc ordered labs before my first visit. After reviewing my med records, labs, and doing a physical exam she immediately diagnosed me with RA and said it is obvious I have it and needed to be treated aggressively to prevent any permanent damage. I had been in a flare for YEARS and got little to no help. No compassion. But this new doctor ordered ultrasounds of my fingers and toes and RA was found in every. single. joint. I hope the other doctors at this practice are where the high reviews come from because my experiences were not good and I will not return nor recommend them to anyone. Trust yourself! If you are in pain and suffering - keep looking for someone who has compassion and will listen and believe you. read more

My sister recently needed to see a new rheumatologist after her long-term one retired. She doesn't drive well, and I typically take her places, but I broke my leg eight weeks ago and can't help her at the moment. Following a recommendation, I suggested she try Sunshine Rheumatology in Venice. Although it's a long drive for her, I hoped telehealth visits would be possible after she was established. Today was her first appointment. She was particularly anxious, sleep-deprived, and suffering from brain fog. Unfamiliar with the Venice area, she had trouble finding the office. Despite leaving extra time for traffic, she was 10 minutes late. Upon arrival, they canceled her appointment and told her the next available slot is months away. I completely understand the need for punctuality in a medical practice. However, considering your specialty involves patients with severe fatigue and brain fog, couldn't you have cut a new patient a nine-minute break on her first visit? She drove an hour, through seasonal traffic, to reach an office she had never been to before. She called me in tears from the parking lot. She's been struggling with POTS and Dysautonomia on top of everything else, and it breaks my heart to see her treated with such a lack of compassion. To anyone considering Sunshine Rheumatology and Arthritis: think twice. This office has shown that they prioritize business over basic human compassion. read more

I thought that I had met the best rheumatologist in the world! But I obviously did not. It would've been amazing if his office staff would have let me speak before calling me a common criminal. They sent me three different times and text messages confirming my appointment, when I tried to confirm that appointment they told me I had missed my appointment and then charged me $50 extra. The girl at the front office with the red hair, treated me like a piece of trash. I will never be back here again, she embarrassed me in front of her entire waiting room, and made me feel like a common criminal. The most sad part is that I really needed help and now I go home with no help and no relief. So I just sit and fill in pain. When all they had to do was acknowledge the fact that they sent the wrong text message. read more

Dr. Panthulu prescribed a medication for me and never warned me of the side effects. Two months later I am in pure misery because the medication is damaging for an specific condition I suffer. My weight is below normal and I can't exercise anymore. The office experience was OK. read more

Was looking to possibly get established with this practice. As I've learned in the area some providers are better than others. I made my appointment and did the online information. I did see they wanted me to agree that I must have credit card on file. To which while initialing consent to all other policies on this I wrote "no" in the box because leaving blank would not let me finish the online form. Go to the appointment today and give the receptionist my license and insurance card. When she asked for the credit card. I explained that I'll pay copay as I'm here to see about getting established if I'm comfortable and like the provider I will be more than glad to do so on my way out. She said that's now how it works either that or $250 down upfront. I have the right to to see if like the provider before going full pledge and having my banking information kept on file. If this was to be only appointment I paid my copay on the way in. Further reason for hesitation is being in medical billy for 20 years I know insurances can make mistakes as well as a billing department. I have the right to protect what could have possibly been a one time appointment from having a surprise bill being charged to my card. read more

I've been a patient here for about a year. I was going from doctor to doctor due to severe pain in my shoulders and hips. The doctor diagnosed me immediately and put me on medication and within a week, I felt better than I had in over a year. Doctors, NPs and staff are wonderful, highly recommended. read more

Doctors, nurses, & techs are all excellent. office staff & billing are bad. They say they mail paper bills but I never receive them. when I go for an appointment they harass me for payment. I just want to receive paper statements by mail & I pay the bill immediately. that seems to be too much to ask. read more

Was called to revise my appointment and come in 2 hours earlier. Showed up on time and waited 15 in the procedure room. Finally I left to find a doctor. She came in, and without apologizing, began to ask me questions. I asked for an explanation and was told the standard office practice explanation. "We were with another patient " . These Medicare doctors overbook because they think old people have all the time in the world. We can complain but it does little good. Maybe we need a patient bill of rights that addresses this problem. read more

The staff here have consistently mismanaged my care. They have a poor understanding of English and communication is poor. I have been missing my medications because of the communication problem of the staff. Like I learned early in life take your business elsewhere. read more

I was referred to Dr. Panthulu due to autoimmune issues. I spent $160 in copays to be told she could not help me. My last visit literally could have been a phone call. The test they decided to run came back normal and even though it was stated I could have a bunch of autoimmune diseases, I was dismissed with no referrals ,no further testing, and no follow up. This did not warrant a visit at all. It could have been a phone call. read more

I waited almost 3 months for this appointment as a new patient moving to the Sun City FL area. I was seen by the doctor and having autoimmune issues for 27+ years, I went through my history with the doctor. I have been doing monthly infusions for 3 years (because none of the self injectable meds were working anymore for me, as I have tried them all and I told this to the Sunshine Rheumatologist) in Atlanta where we were moving from. The doctor at Sunshine said she would continue with those infusions. They needed to check my health insurance first, they said. I told them that my health insurance does not pay for in office infusions, but send a skilled nurse to my home to administer the infusion. That's what my plan covers under United Healthcare and that the Sunshine Rheumatologist would need to call the prescription in to Optum and Optum would schedule the nurse, etc. Same exact way I have been doing it in Atlanta for 3 years. Well... I waited and called the office to see when they would be calling Optum to provide the prescription so I wouldn't miss a treatment and they kept saying they are waiting for my healthcare insurance to get back to them with approval. I called United Healthcare on my own and they told me that I was approved for the skilled nurse to come to my house and administer the medication. I called Sunshine Rheumatology again and told them that United Healthcare approved in home nursing, they said they haven't heard from them. Finally another week or so went by and Sunshine called to tell me that I have been declined. I said, what are you talking about? I am approved for the in home nursing to come and administer. This is where they are completely in violation of the Stark Act. They REFUSED to prescribe the medication for me UNLESS I come into their office so they can administer it. I told them my insurance, as they found out too, does not cover in office infusions, they send a skilled nurse and THAT is what I am covered for. They said,' well that's our policy'. I asked why and they said, 'that's our policy'. They told me they can give me the self-injectable medication if I wasn't covered and or didn't want to pay on my own to come into their office for administration of the medication. It is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY FOR THESE PEOPLE. Because they will not be making money on the infusion service themselves, they will REFUSE TO PRESCRIBE MEDICATION THAT I NEED and have it administered, just like the Doctors I had in Atlanta at a real healthcare company, Piedmont, did. THEY DID NOT CARE ABOUT making extra money, they cared about my health. I looked up the Stark Act and as a medicare office, they are referring to their own business for the infusion service. Under the Stark Act, you cannot refer ONLY to businesses that you have a financial interest in. So they office the medical practice (doctors visits, provide prescriptions, etc) AND they ONLY refer infusion services to themselves - another "business' within their business. I reported them to Medicare/Medicaid and with the Department of Health and Human Services. One of their many nasty women who work in the office, when I was arguing with her about this and told her that they were in violation of the Stark Act and that I would report them said to me, "Are you threatening me?" I responded and said, "threatening you? no, I'm telling you what you are doing is in violation of the Stark Act". She then put on the doctor who either owns the practice or works at the practice who was equally as nasty and said, 'that's our office policy'. I told her too, you're in violation of the Stark Act and she repeated, 'that's our office policy' and I said, fine, I am going to report you and she said, 'I don't care'. So I reported them and I went without monthly infusions for someone with 3 autoimmune diseases, for months until I could find a LEGITIMATE, not CROOKED Doctor's office. THIS OFFICE DOESN'T EVEN FEEL LIKE A REAL DOCTOR'S OFFICE AND SOMETHING WAS REALLY SHADY ABOUT THEM. It's looks like most of them were educated in other countries, and medical schools no one has ever heard of. Someone else on here who reviewed them is right. They all have a poor understanding of english, some with such heavy accents you cannot even understand them. I felt that way the second I walked in and read about the other so-called doctors there. My gut was telling me something wasn't LEGIT about these people. BASICALLY, THIS PRACTICE IS ALL ABOUT MONEY THAN PATIENTS, MAKING AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE ON THEIR PATIENTS WITH ZERO CONCERN ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO CARE ABOUT WHICH IS THE HEALTH OF THEIR PATIENTS. IF THEY ARE ONLY REFERRING TO THEIR OWN BUSINESSES, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT ELSE AND WHAT OTHER SCAMS THEY ARE DOING. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE IF YOU WANT MEDICAL CARE.
