Very Disappointing Experience -- Lack of Professionalism and Care…read more There are too many negative things to mention, but I'll start with the front desk. The receptionist is consistently rude, and the music in the lobby is so loud that it's difficult to hear or communicate. It feels very unprofessional, especially with the TV also playing information about procedures and products -- the two competing noises make the environment unpleasant. Every time I've come in, the music seems even louder. When I first saw the doctor, he mentioned that the VA sends too much information to read through, which was concerning. I explained my symptoms, and he told me to come back for injections. A few days later, I returned and was given two injections -- but it turns out they were done in the wrong area, as confirmed by my VA doctor after reviewing the referral and MRI. The VA doctor clarified that the injections I received were not what he had referred me for. When I brought the correct documentation back to Apollo Pain Management, the doctor seemed visibly irritated. During that visit, he performed the requested injections but did not use lidocaine or any numbing agent beforehand. His demeanor made me feel as if I had done something wrong, which added unnecessary stress to an already painful situation. At my follow-up visit, the experience was much the same -- rude front desk staff, loud music, and a doctor who did not review my MRI or referral. When I mentioned that I didn't get the expected relief, he implied it was my fault and refused to perform further injections in the areas requested by my referring doctor. I will not be returning to this location. The environment is unwelcoming, and if the physician cannot take the time to review a referral or MRI, it's hard to trust the quality of care being provided. On a positive note, the PA and the male nurse were both very professional, courteous, and caring. They were the only bright spots in this entire experience.

The office personnel are caring and knowledgeable and the office is run very well. I couldn't be happier with my care there. They have a well run infusion and diagnostics lab also. If you are reading this, you know how hard it is to find a rheumatologist, let alone a spectacular one. Because everyone in this practice is so wonderful, they are insanely busy. I have also had good experiences at their sister location in Sarasota, and I believe they have another one in Venice. I think most of the rheumatologists work out of more than one location. If you are looking for a kind, patient, highly knowledgeable practitioner with a good team, I can't overstate what a wise choice it would be to find your way here. Like everyone else I know who goes here, at some point you will be speaking of your doctor as one of the best doctors you've worked with in any specialty. I am beyond grateful to Dr. Manohar, her assistants, the phlebotomist, and the people who work in the front office. I may not have been lucky in my genes, but I have been very lucky in the

Do yourself a favor and read this review if you're considering this quack. And read all the other…read morenegative reviews you find online: they're all true. This is where it all began for me. Two years ago a clicking manifested in my left wrist. I thought it might be carpal tunnel, and everyone told me to ignore it. Six months later the clicking jumped to my right hand, then moved up my arms. This is where it was when I decided to seek the opinion of a rheumatologist. I had the misfortune of choosing Dr Mazhar. First, she barely speaks English. I'm sure she can read and write it just fine, but she's obviously shy or asocial and hasn't had much practice speaking it with people. I knew then that this would pose an obstacle to accurate diagnosis, but I was desperate and knew nothing about doctors or the system. Second, she has no people skills. Very aloof and quiet. As for my visit, she ordered the first of what would be many blood labs. (By the way, I chatted with the friendly American secretary on my way out, and she told me not to worry, because Dr Mazhar "likes to solve puzzles." LOL.) So my labs came back and two things were abnormal: Antistreptolysin titer and C-Reactive Protein. At this point a competent rheumatologist would have sat up straight and said, Ok, you have an infection and it's becoming rheumatic; let me figure out what we can give you to arrest this process. Did Mazhar do this? Nope. She didn't even look interested. She made a note that it "could be" reactive arthritis, as I had guessed from day one. But nothing was done. Even with an ASO titer of 512 (200% over the 200 mark!), I was sent away to wait another month for a follow-up while my symptoms worsened. And on the day of the follow-up, more dumb stares and another round of bloodwork. ASO falling, but still elevated. Nothing ventured. I informed the secretary I'd be looking for another doctor. I should add that on this second visit, I saw one older woman walk out in frustration, declaring that she "doesn't even listen to what I am saying." I asked the secretary if this is common; she said yes. It's now 2015 and the problem has taken over my body. My hips grind, my knees are giving out, every joint pops or grinds, and my life is ruined. I'm not irrational and don't think Mazhar did this to me; but she was there at the beginning, had the smoking gun staring her in the face, and she did nothing. She is slow, asocial, and doesn't speak my language. She does not care at all what happens to me, and it appears her other patients. She directly contributed to the ruin of my life - I am in my thirties - by her passivity, lack of professional bearing, and plain stupidity. I am being unrestrained in my opinion because she absolutely deserves it. Let me be completely clear about this: SHE. SHOULD. NOT. BE. IN. CHARGE. OF. DIAGNOSING. OR. TREATING. PATIENTS.

Dr. Mazhar was on my Florida Blue Plan, and the closest dr to me, so I went before checking reviews. The office is large, friendly staff. She has no bedside manner at all (which I don't mind if they are good doctors). After a few minutes, and some deeply personal questions and answers, she said, "Ok, this isn't going to work. Do not schedule another appointment with me, AND I will be sure to bill you for my time". Dumbfounded, I asked receptionist to speak with a manager. Maria took me in a private room and interviewed me while taking notes. 3 months later, I get a bill totaling $361.00. It took me multiple calls with Florida Blue, and "Internal Medicine Associates" to get the bill reconciled. Also, I still needed a Rhumatologist. This time I checked reviews, first. All of the doctors for IMA have 1 star reviews. Buyer beware!!!
