We had a great server (Carol) my wife had a burger cooked to her preferred temperature which is "no pink but not dried out" and I had lamb chops that were cooked exactly as I like them, med-well... the prices can't be beat... our meal for both of us qith drinks was $28... holy shit! And this restaurant has been in business since 1912. read more

Very cool atmosphere old world styles galore. Very welcoming fast and friendly service and customers. We popped in for some lunch everything we had is pictured and was great. We will be back to try breakfast and probably lunch again. Great find. Looks like they can accommodate big parties too on the other side of the restaurant. read more

I can't believe I did not know about this restaurant! I frequent the Robin's Theater which is almost directly across the street. The food was excellent! I had a steak and my friend had the prime rib. This restaurant is, in my opinion, the great jewel of Downtown Warren. The exterior is a vintage 1950's facade (which is retro in itself), but upon walking in you are ushered into an even older time-capsule of the original 1916 Edwardian Decor! This restaurant is, bar-none, the most impressively-preserved vintage business I have ever beheld. Each booth is a walnut replica of the next, complete with original plate cut-glass mirrors presiding over each red-formica counter-top. The waitresses, although pouting & weathered, are as charming as can be once they drop that Steel-Valley frown. One in particular, Cindy, was much more friendly than the others. She secretly informed me that the lamb-chops in wine were a delight, and I heeded her advice. I am certainly glad I did: for a mere $12.99, I received a salad, rolls, a heaping plate of hot fries and five succulent lamb-chops swimming in the sweetest wine-sauce my palate has ever enjoyed. They were certainly the tenderest cuts of meat I had tasted in awhile, and it was quite a surprise considering its precedent... the salad. My one complaint was that the iceberg-lettuce salad tasted as if it were sitting in the fridge, pre-made, for quite some time. For $12.99, I will not complain... however, the rest was quite a delectable treat considering I was so under-whelmed by its opening course. I wish they would change this and make the salads fresh beforehand, to be a worthy opener to such treats to come. Also, they might consider a mixed-green variety of lettuce rather than the iceberg, and perhaps invest in more small-batch, hand-crafted dressings. Despite my gripes over wilted lettuce leaves... the Saratoga is an august place. The booths are redolent of a more innocent era, and you could almost hear the clinkings of 1940's coffee-cups and rustlings of old Tribune-Chronicles announcing V.E. Day. There is a calming and warm feeling all-over, and if you close your eyes you can hear the whisper of old snowy holidays where fur-wearing ladies rescued themselves into the warmth with the clanging din of reigndeer bells. Sadly, the hoary-headed Mr. Economos doesn't stand sentinel at the entrance with an aquiline glance like in former days, but he seems to still be holding court there, like the scores of other spirits who have leant their soul to such a singular space. If you used to come here as a child, certainly come again. And if you haven't been yet... you are no doubt in for a treat. The Saratoga does not rest solely on the laurels of a preserved decor, but boasts some of the finest fare I have ever feasted on in this area. read more

Great chicken orange salad and chicken rice soup. The key lime pie was not the greatest. But the service was great! The location kind of scares me a little and finally I found this restaurant. I was a little afraid to go in, but the restaurant looked ok from the outside. I don't regret going in at all and recommend it! read more

I was in Waren for a family event my brother In law had made arrangements for all of us to goto the Saratoga for lunch, being from Columbus and used to dining a good restaurants I thought what in the hell is in Waren, when we walked Into the Saratoga I had a good feeling it's a old school restaurant and I was rite. I had the grilled strip steak, now I'm not a real fan of steak cooked on a flat top but the one here was DELICIOUS ! The service was outstanding and friendly. My fiancé and I are staying the night in Warren and Saratoga is literally steps from our hotel. We were instantly greeted by the owner and our waitress was a charming older woman who paid so much attention to us that we felt like regulars! It's a dark, old restaurant that has been a staple in Warren for 100 years and it's clear that they have gone with what's worked, and for good reason! We both got the fried chicken, which was phenomenal - not too greasy, and the breading was light, crisp and flavorful. Other meals we saw leaving the kitchen looked great, as well! It's definitely very traditional, heavy American food, but for the local charm, it's worth every calorie. read more

I hadn't been here in over 40 years and I didn't even know it was still open. A real surprise and treat to see it hadn't changed since I was a kid, old fashion booths, and resturant. I have eaten here so many times in my life that it would be hard to count them all. I have never had a bad experience, or bad food. It is almost like a step back in time, when the portions were bigger and the prices lower. It's least been family owned and It shows. There is love and a lot of familial pride that goes into their dishes. There is generally not a wait, and the service is spot on and eager to help. If you haven't even here, stop by the next time you are in downtown Warren. There are so many new and exciting places opening up, but dont forget about those that were here through the mills closing, etc. read more

My wife and I found this place when we had an hour to kill due to the incompetence of the Trumbull County Auto Title Bureau. It is by far the best restaurant I have found in Warren thus far. The food is excellent and the service outstanding. I had a vegetable penne alfredo, the pasta was cooked perfect and the veggies were garden fresh. The meal came with a nice side salad, and fresh rolls. My wife had a chicken salad croissant with fries that she says was also excellent. The service was incredible, the staff were very welcoming and treated us as valued guests without being a nuisance. The best thing about this place is the ambiance, the Saratoga has been in business nearly 100 years, and still has the original wood booths. The decor here would be impossible to recreate economically in this era, so it is worth it to stop in just to get the feel of how the dining experience must have been in the early 20th century. All in all I cannot find anything negative to say about this place, and I look forward to my next visit. read more

Jim Economos and team at the Saratoga catered our 175th Anniversary Event at Christ Episcopal Church recently. The food was amazing! Everyone commented on how sophisticated the presentation was and how delicious everything was. Jim and Gary went above and beyond! They were extremely professional and flexible to our needs.
