The food there is excellent and the servers are fantastic. We were not seated because we didn't have a reservation even though there were at least 6 empty tables. To the owner: Always remember, someone with a good experience will tell 10 people. Someone with a bad experience will tell 100 people. I was a senior manager in a medical facility for 10-15 years. I always told my people that percentage. Also they were to treat everyone as if they were immediate family. Maybe your front door staff needs to hear that! read more

Milan at the bar was great. Very friendly and great at his job. The service was quick and professional. Nice, quaint place with limited seating but comfortable. We had the short rib gnocchi, rosemary fries and Mac n'cheese. The Mac n'cheese was as the star. Absolutely delicious. The rosemary fries were just seasoned fries from a bag and they must have forgotten to add the rosemary part. The short rib gnocchi was not real tasty. Tasted like roast beef on frozen pasta. Sounded really good on the menu but fell short on taste. It all came out very quick though. read more

We are still coming back year after year when we are in the area. The friendly staff, and excellent food make this a place you don't want to pass by! We were delighted to still see pirogies and sausage still on the menu as the pirogies melt in your mouth, and the sausage is bursting with flavor. Don't forget to dip into the sauce, as you will be well pleased to enjoy the delicious taste. The chicky parm presented with moist, thick chicken breast wonderfully breaded, and the sauce on the pasta was the kind that simmered quietly on your grandma's stove reminding you of why you take the time to relish in this dining experience. The low country shrimp and grits ( which were heartily approved of by our sever Monte) were a wonder. I was always afraid of trying grits, but Monte encouraged me as the chef makes them like no other!- I truly agree, seasoned perfectly, texture similar to mashed potatoes they were a perfect match for the gulf shrimp, pork belly and tomatoes- a unique combination that worked really well together. We celebrated my mother in law's birthday there today when they were serving brunch. The brunch menu was great, the ambiance was relaxing and they had great music playing. Traveled over 500 miles to celebrate a close friend's wedding and was genuinely excited when he told us he had made dinner reservations for our group at West and Main over a month in advance. He had raved about the place, so we were looking forward to a great evening. The food? Decent--not Michelin-star worthy by any stretch, but solid enough. Our server was lovely, gracious, and clearly working hard to accommodate a group of 30-35 guests who had traveled from across the country. She even mentioned it was the busiest Thursday she had worked in the last four months, and she handled it with kindness and professionalism. Unfortunately, the entire experience was soured by the behavior of the owner/chef. While catching up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while--literally standing at the bar, not causing a scene--I was abruptly confronted by the owner. With a wrinkled nose and an aggressive tone, he got in my face and informed me (with zero signage posted anywhere) that his policy required all guests to be seated. Before I could even respond, he began threatening other guests in our party--including the groom's sister--saying he would call the police because people were standing and mingling in the bar area. Seriously? For someone running an open-air kitchen, where visibility and atmosphere matter, his attitude was beyond unprofessional. He came off rude, hostile, and absolutely lacking in the kind of hospitality you'd expect from someone in the service industry--especially when hosting a pre-planned, celebratory group dinner. I later learned this same owner used to run a ramen spot nearby. Given how he treated us, it's no surprise that restaurant is no longer in business. Maybe one day he'll take a trip to Nashville--or any city that actually embraces guests--and see how real hospitality is done. Until then, I won't be returning, and I certainly won't recommend this place to anyone who values being treated with basic respect. read more

It's nice to be greeted so warmly when you enter a restaurant. The staff is great and the interior decor is contemporary but has a very comfortable feel. I love the countertop of the bar. Very nice handy work but that's not the best part of this place! The food was excellent! The menu is American but you won't just see fried chicken and meatloaf here. There are great options up and down the menu that are delicious creations by the chef. They will soon be your favorites. By waitress recommendation I tried the Lemon Garlic Hummus. This is made fresh daily and is the best hummus I've had. I also tried the Zucchini and Onion Gallete. It's a fabulous combination of pastry, veg and cheese. My wife and her friends were here Tuesday and had an enjoyable meal but were then asked to leave because another party wanted their table. Who needs dessert when you can have a fabulous Chocolate Martini! Today I went again and had a Burger with fries . My burger was cooked beautifully on a bed of lettuce tomato and onion cheddar cheese and a handmade bun. I ate every bite and the fries are the best. You will not be disappointed with anything you pick on the menu . Our service was the best the waiter was so charming . I happened to be traveling through the area today with my parents and was looking for a good lunch spot. I read the reviews of West & Main and was sold! First, the restaurant is located across from a beautiful park that would be a nice place to take your lunch if the weather was agreeable. Immediately upon walking into West & Main, we were greeted by Blaike, who sat us right away. We let her know it was our first time visiting and she welcomed us and got us started with some drinks. They have a standard menu, along with a rotating seasonal dinner menu that I look forward to coming back and checking out. My mom and I both ordered the West & Main burger and my dad ordered the cod sandwich, all came with a side of their rosemary and sea salt fries. I find that judging a standard American fair restaurant by their burger is a fair assessment of the rest of the menu. How much care is taken with the details lets me know a lot about what they are all about. I'm happy to report that the burgers were outstanding! These burgers included some locally sourced ingredients, the buns were buttered and toasted, the veggies fresh, and the meat was juicy. The fries, which is a side dish that can usually be phoned in, were also great! Perfectly crunchy and very well-seasoned. My dad also loved his cod sandwich. One of the best things about West & Main is how friendly everyone is from the time you walk in the door to the time that you leave your table. Add to that a good beer selection and a menu that sports some regular items (high quality wings and a good burger) as well as an entire list of specials, and you have a great dining experience on your hands. Good selection of local beers as well as a good drink list. A little disappointed that there weren't more gluten free options, but we were able to make it work. Burgers were flavorful despite one needing no bun, and fries (not GF friendly) as well as roasted potatoes (which were) were also yummy. West & Main, Warren Ohio Upon arriving, we were greeted and sat very quickly. A small, welcoming restaurant with maybe 15 tables and a 10 seat bar. The first thing I was impressed with was the simplicity of the menu. One side, with 10 "Mainstays" and a few options A La Carte. Very appealing. But what I'll say about having a simplistic menu, is that you need to not only be consistent, but those 10 options need to be at a certain level. I was not impressed by what I ordered. Let's start with the BEAUCHENE'S Poutine ($14), "crispy fries, topped with slow BRAISED SHORT RIB, red wine . . . . demi glace, fried cheese curds, shishito peppers, local farm fresh fried egg" The fries were obviously frozen bagged, and unseasoned with even salt and pepper. I understand house fries can be hard to get a good crisp on, but if you're going to do frozen fries, they at least need to be seasoned. I couldn't find a single cheese curd until I started digging around near the bottom. They were drowned in the red wine sauce and soggy. The braised short rib was moist yet didn't have the flavor profile I was expecting. The entire bowl was missing key elements to bring the flavors all together. It has so much opportunity to be good. But right now from a critical perspective, it's not there. Was it edible? Yes. I'll give it a 5/10. Now onto the Nashville hot chicken sandwich ($13), "buttermilk fried CHICKEN breast, house made hot sauce and . . . Nashville spice dusted, lettuce, tomato, dill pickle mayo, brioche bun, fries" The first thing I noticed was the breading was not crisp like you expect a fried chicken sandwich to be. It was cooked thoroughly, but the breading was wet in spots, and it did not have the crunch that you want. Now the taste, which was overthrown by vinegar. Along with a very vinegary taste, there was no crunch, and the sauce was not hot. When I eat a Nashville hot chicken sandwich I expect my nose to be running and have a tear running down my cheek. As the poutine, the Nashville hot was missing key elements to make everything work. Edible? For some. But as I said before coming from a critical perspective, this also wasn't there. 4/10 for the Nashville hot. Lastly, the "Truffle & Romano fries" These are the same fries used in the Poutine. Covered in truffle oil (I'm guessing white) and Parmesan. The one thing I liked about these is they weren't soaked in oil like places I've had before. They were nicely coated. 6.8/10 for the truffle fries. Nothing spectacular, but tasty. This place really does have promise. I think it's heading the right way but hasn't perfected what they have on their menu. I'd love to come back in a year and try what will be next. The service is great and they are very welcoming. Remember, this is just my experience, as yours could be much different. Cheers! read more

Tried W&M tonight for dinner with The Mom. We were both looking forward to trying this new place...and it did not disappoint. Intimate dinning room and bar, but not too small. Nicely decorated. We were a little worried as they looked to be a little overwhelmed with the large number of customers this evening, along with a private party about to enter. However, our waitress (Laurie, I think...) was knowledgeable, attentive, and very friendly. The food looked and tasted fantastic. I ordered the Lobster Garganell, which is kinda like an upscale lobster mac & cheese. Let me tell you, they did not skimp on the lobster in this meal. Those who know me, know I don't give five stars. However tonight they earned it. To start the evening we arrived without reservation and they were packed. So we decided to eat at the bar. To shorten this up a bit... 45 minutes later still no food. Seems something went awry in the kitchen. But the staff handled it perfectly. They bent over backwards to apologize. Even though a rough start, service and food was great. I had some of the best duck. Wifey's pork chop was great too. The atmosphere matched the menu and the overall experience was better than expected, even with the little faux pas. If you are looking for a good spot to have dinner and a night evening, this is the spot. Hands down. Skip the strip, go downtown and enjoy a meal. read more
