Had an Anniversary dinner here and all I can say is OMG! We had the Burrata appetizer and it was the most creamy and delicious cheese I have ever tasted. I had a Ribeye steak and she had the Orecchiette pasta but we wound up sharing each other's and still took home loads of food. Steak was well marbled and had a nice crust on the outside but cooked to perfection on the inside. Her pasta was cooked to a perfect Al Dente. Crème Brule for dessert which was sweet and silky, and the service was impeccable. They paid total attention to detail and made our Anniversary great. The Chef Fulvio Sardelli came out and welcomed us himself and made sure that everything was exceptional. Overall the food was great, and the service was too. I am not going to lie, this place is expensive, but you get what you pay for and if you want quality you have to pay for it. read more

After hearing friends rave about this place as well as the rumor that Billy Joel frequents this place I had to give it a try. It's a four-story Italian Villa with absolutely no sign on it advertising what inside. Had it not been for a valet sign outside you would walk right by it thinking it was somebody's house. The first floor opens up to the maître d' in the bar area and it is a beautiful, serene Decour. After checking in with a reservation take the elevator up to the second floor where we were seated. Very extensive wine list and extremely overpriced. Pass on the wine thank you very much. Opened up with the raviolio appetizer and the meatball appetizer special. Both were very good and worthy of mention. The raviolio though probably not worth $16 for one. The meatball had a great flavor to it, was not too loose not too firm with a beautiful marinara sauce over it thumbs up for $15. Main courses were yellow tail francais, bone in New York strip, and 8 ounce filet. The yellowtail got an average rating nothing special. The two steaks though were excellent and cooked to perfection. A side of fingerling potatoes were rather bland and would pick something else next time. For dessert cappuccinos and cannolis. Mini cannolis were fresh squeezed into the shell and crispy as if they had just come out of the oven. I really like this place, the location, the ambiance, and the general vibe. The question that comes to mind is how does this compare to a Capitol Grille, Trulucks, or Morton steakhouse? Price-wise, they are right there with all of the above restaurants which is some pretty stiff competition. I have to admit I liked having a change of pace with this type of a homestyle restaurant on the beach without the pretentiousness of going to Capitol Grille. I will keep this place in the mix, as a change of pace. Four stars for sorry delis in a return visit will be in the future. read more

Horrible experience, although have been there twice before and did not experience such. In fact, we brought in 4 new people with us. We experienced the following. 1. Reservation issue, with another large party with the same last name. We ended up not getting the original table as planned, the entire problem was conveyed to us which really, should be transparent to any customer. 2. Ordered a wine to then, later informed (about 10 mins after), that there was no Sauvignon Blanc wine left in the house? 3. Five minutes later, Alex (our not-so-friendly and rushed waiter), came back and said "only 1 Sauvignon Blanc wine was left from another region". So which is it, you either have wine or not? I proceeded to order a Pinot Noir instead. 4. Our waiter explained how we needed to order because they have a small kitchen so everyone had to know immediately what to order, and only 1 order per table. We were a party of 8, so we needed to speed it up in my mind I thought, or else, we will never finish with the "dining experience", which was "nightmarish"... 5. We ordered and received most of everything we ordered. Our friendly waiter did not write the order at all, as he can memorize all of the orders. Quite impressive if done correctly. One item was duplicated and 1 item missing which we canceled out of the check at a later time. No apologies were provided, only blame on the kitchen staff. Again, should not be conveyed to a customer. We really don't care whose fault was it at that time. The pork chop was hard as a rock among other things. 6. Finally, received our meal which by the way, was delayed. Again, no offer of apologies, etc, but rather, I had to ask twice about the status of the entree. Good luck with the entire process and restaurant, maybe others will hopefully, and highly doubtful, have a nicer experience in the future. I for one, will not be returning or recommending. Words can't explain the meal I just had at this beautiful establishment. First of all, ask for the backstory on why the restaurant is in a house. We were dining on the third story of this beautiful multiple level restaurant. Second of all, the pasta will blow your mind. Homemade pastas that are so delicious you will realize other pastas aren't the same. All of the food was prepared perfectly...The pork chop, the veal chop, the bone in ribeye steak. Everything was hot, sides of spinach and potatoes were all fantastic. The ricotta cheesecake absolutely blew my mind. The hospitality was amazing great vibes all night. This is for sure one of my fav top 10 restaurants in South Florida! It's a hidden gem close to the Hollywood Beach that is set up in a lovely home which keeps it a place most don't know about. If your a foody and know about amazing food, atmosphere and wine then you will find and eat at Sardelli's. I'm grown up with the Sardelli family and Fulvio's all my life as my parents frequented the family former restaurants! The whole vibe is so unique for a Hollywood restaurant and the restaurant is 2-3 stories with an incredible wine cellar and the perfect lighting for a fantastic romantic date or with a group of friends! Amazing is an understatement, the quality and tastes delivered to your table is an experience that should not be missed. I've been here 5 times, and while everyone else always raves about what they are served, I simply can't bring myself to order anything other than the Cavatelli (now named something more elegant on the menu, cannot remember exactly what), but it's the type of dish that triggers emotion and this overwhelming desire to just slow down, close your eyes and enjoy, awash in the flavors that can only be delivered by a great chef, in this case I think this may have been his mother's dish. I've traveled the country on expense accounts, eaten some amazing dishes, but nothing else has come close to the way this cavatelli delivers, THANK YOU!! read more

Sardelli came highly recommended by a Miami chef friend and it (mostly) did not disappoint. In fact, I would say I am indeed a fan and will (probably) be back. Arrived on time for our reservation and found street parking (weekday luck). Valet parking is available as well. The restaurant's beachfront location is perfect for a post-dinner stroll. Purposely designed to look more like a home and less of a commercial structure, you won't find any large signage on it. Reservations are a must. They can't be done on Opentable and you have to pick up the phone and call "old school," which is a bit inconvenient. We went up several steps in the front, entered through the beautiful "front door," and checked in at the hostess stand. The woman in the front was a bit icy. Is it so hard to give a warm welcome and a smile? Our friends were not there yet so we walked ourselves to the bar to wait. No love lost there. At the bar, service was very friendly and welcoming. Once our party was complete, we were finally escorted to our table. The interiors are elegant and inviting. Dimmed lighting easily set the mood for romance, and private conversation. In our case (birthday celebration-party of four), the ambiance worked as well. It's truly lovely inside. OUR DINNER House focaccia bread- very good Complimentary butternut squash soup- liked the taste, but I prefer a thicker texture than the one served. Octopus- in a lemon vinaigrette. Reminded me of a ceviche. Refreshing and tangy. Loved this one. Raviolo- I am a raviolo snob. This one is not the best I've ever had, but it was good. Everyone else in our table loved it. Potato Croquettes - with a bacon jalapeño sour cream. Really good. Bucatini Carbonara- Also not the best I've ever had (helllloooo MC Kitchen!), but it was also very good and a table favorite. Braised Veal Shank Cavatelli in truffle butter- I will say this. My friend who ordered it is extremely picky with her food and she loved it. Two thumbs up! Colorado Lamb Chops- a little on the fatty side, but a lot on the flavorful side. Excellent. Seasoned just right and good enough for me to finish my entire half (shared with the hubby) even though I was full by then. Gluttony. I know. FIlet Mignon- excellent Desserts- your typical Italian cheesecake, creme brûlée, and panna cotta. Nothing stood out as a must-have, so we just went with the creme brûlée. It was nice: just the right amount of sweetness to end our dinner. Given my sweet tooth, I would have loved a more enticing and creative dessert list. SERVICE Our waiter was very nice and on top of everything. Water glasses were refilled before I ever knew they needed to be, and our wine was opened promptly. WINE RANT Speaking of wine, I do wish Sardelli allowed outside wine (with a corkage fee, of course). As an avid wine drinker, it is excruciating to have to severely overpay for wine I already have at home on top of an already expensive dinner. This always becomes an important point when choosing to return to a restaurant and in fact, it's what kept me away for so long. With very little exception, most fine-dining restaurants I've been to in Dade and Broward county allow it. Shoot, even nationwide! The top restaurants in the U.S. see no problem in allowing their diners to do so! That small courtesy goes a long way. All of that said, I really did enjoy our experience at Sardelli and I'm sure I will be back someday. read more

Wow!!! My new favorite place and a hidden treasure. It is buried in a Hollywood street, close to the ocean and little hard to find. Valet parking is necessary. The service and the food are exceptional. Starters- Great selection of reasonably priced wines - they have a great bar Fresh assortment of breads Excellent Cesar salad Well cooked eggplant and tomatoes Nice and fresh Burrata The Mains- Florentine steak is as good as anything in NYC Snapper in the bag was fresh and perfectly flavored The gnocchi was tasty After dinner, it is a nice place for a stroll to work off the food. I recently took my girlfriend to a surprise dinner at Sardelli to celebrate her recent success in getting a job she had been eagerly anticipating. Before booking my reservation with Sardelli, I read many reviews that seemed a bit inconsistent. This worried me slightly as I had not been before and wasn't sure of what to expect. I did not know much about Sardelli other than what I had read online and via their website. I was aware that the owner Fulvio is the owner of the former Fulvio 1900 and of my favorite local Hollywood wine bar called Vino. I read a plethora of reviews about Sardelli and scoped out their menu online and decided to make the reservation for Friday at 8pm. I arrived at Sardelli much later than anticipated and had called Sardelli in advance to notify them that I'd be late the host assured me not to worry. As I arrived I was happy to see that my reservation still held and we were promptly seated on the second floor in the wine cellar room. There was a larger party and one smaller party dining but it wasn't busy at all. Let's get on with the review.....:) *****'s - Ambiance/Decor - This place is GORGEOUS. The exterior reminds me of a Tuscan villa, and is very nicely situated throwing distance from Hollywood beach. The interior of the restaurant is stunning, the cellar room, the tables, the chandeliers, and the downstairs bar area. Even the elevator is very nice. I love the downstairs open-kitchen concept, and it's just very well put together. Not many people REALLY dress up in South Florida, but this place makes me want to sport a fine a Italian suit whilst dining. I saw some reviews about the bathrooms not being kept up...I used the bathroom twice that evening and they were immaculately kept each time. *****'s Service/Staff - Our server was Julian, he was AWESOME. He took his time with us as we are slightly indecisive and like to thoroughly look over the menu items, he was able to offer me two wine suggestions since the original wine I had come for was not there. I ended up with my backup choice and was not disappointed in the slightest. He was very patient with me and my gf taking several times to decide what we wanted to eat. Food came out in perfect timing, not too soon, and not too late. When we got to the second floor, there was no music playing, and my gf whispered "It's really quiet in here" the staff within minutes played some very nice tunes. Our other encounter was with the bartender downstairs, I want to say her name was Jackie? (I forgot as we did get a bit tipsy lol) she was also excellent, she allowed me to try several of the wines at not cost and was VERY attentive as a bartender and the restaurant itself was closed and only entertaining a small group of people. The service was outstanding all around, and I could not have been happier. ****'s Food - I've dined at some pretty fancy establishments over the years. Scarpetta, Palme D'Or, Ai Fiori, etc.Sardelli can definitely hold up to some of these establishments. The food that night was excellent, and as the restaurant matures, I am sure the food will only get better and better. My only complaint was that my Lobster pasta could've had a little bit more creativity added to it to set it apart from the others I've had. My girlfriends Lobster Francese was amazing, the lobster was very fresh and a very generous portion. Appetizer of grilled octopus and white beans was to die for, the buratta was incredibly fresh and tasted great. The amuse bouche of butternut squash soup was amazzzzing. ****'s Value - I admit, some of the dishes are a bit pricey, but I understand that given the total experience, ambiance, and location you are paying a bit extra for the total package. I felt treated as if I was a valued patron and not as if this place only caters to people with hordes of money as I feel at some establishments. On my way out I ran into Fulvio and he is incredibly humble and nice. He even warned me of the step that I was about to tumble over lol. 4.5 *'s Overall - I selected 5 *'s here but I would like it to be 4.5 8*'s. It's very difficult for a restaurant to get the 5 star rating. Fulvio at Sardelli is doing an amazing job and if he stays true to his art and takes criticism constructively, he can develop a 5 star establishment. NOTE: For those complaining about the parking and knocking the reviews due to paying "6.00 to Valet..." there is a Parking Garage across the block on Harrison street that won't cost you more than 2 dollars. However, if you're griping about paying 6 dollars for valet and then going to spend 35+ on a plate of food per person, you probably shouldn't be dining out at restaurants with that price tag anyway. Don't reflect your hatred on having to valet park you car into the total review of the restaurant because it grossly skews the rating. Park in the parking garage and walk, or valet your car and don't gripe about it. read more

My brother had been raving about Sardellis for quite some time and I had been dying to go. I finally went with my fam when we were all together over the holiday. We made reservations for 8:15pm on a Saturday night. (Reservations are a must) When we arrived we checked in with the hostess and were brought into an elevator to the top floor. What a cool restaurant, I loved the setup. The top floor is a bit private with its own small bar, a few tables and a balcony where you can enjoy a drink....which we did! The upstairs would make for a great party venue. The bartender who was also our server came outside with menus which we weren't sure if he was trying to get us to go sit at the table? We then went over to our our table where we ordered more drinks and went over the specials and menu. We had my brother do all the ordering...we all trust him when it comes to food. We ordered enough for twelve people... we were a group of six. That's typical with my family. Each dish was SO delicious. We ordered a ton which you'll see from my photos. I think the dish that stood out to me the most was the fried lobster. It was to die for, but then again I can honestly say each dish was pretty amazing. I can't forget about their red sauce. One of the best I've ever had! Everything from the ambience to the food was over the top. It's a bit on the pricier side so be ready to spend. I wanted to take my partner to a nice dinner for his birthday and was between Sardelli and Valentino (Valentino being less than a mile away from me, which was convenient). I looked at Valentino's menu and was not impressed so conferred with Mai E., as she's my foodie friend, she told me not to waste my time at Valentino anymore so I of course chose to take the hike here for his birthday and it was absolutely outstanding. We were served an amuse-bouche which was a parsnip soup and then ordered the octopus, short rib, spinach papardelle, antipasti and a couple of glasses of Cab. Everything was decadent... DECADENT! Sardelli is the epitome of Italian fine dining. From the service to the execution of the food, everything is incredible. DO NOT overlook this place. The biggest shock was when the bill came. They start you off with some toasted bread and a ricotta spread that is to die for. The shrimp appetizer was a wonderful surprise. It has some heat to it and the shrimp are cooked to perfection. You can't go wrong with the meatball and ricotta. The calamari was just okay but I was comparing it to the shrimp. The burrata was also excellent. Tried to get a reservation but had to leave a voicemail. The hostess returned my call. We made a reservation and she failed to record it. We show up at the restaurant and the hostess said she had no record of the reservation. From my recent calls, I redialed the number she called me from and her cell phone lit up. She held firm that that wasn't her. She offered no apology except we could wait and see if there were any no shows we could have their table. No offer to buy a drink while we waited or any display of remorse. Straight up said "If you're not going to be happy, you can leave". Pretty damn independent. We ate there twice in February but we won't be back. Try Matteo's which is five minutes away with excellent food and service. read more

Terrible place. Walked in, no one greets you, you can stand there for 5 minutes and no one will even acknowledge you. The hostess wasn't there, waiters are rude and no one there speaks English. The place is very dark and smells of mold. We reluctantly decided to eat there since my wife was really hungry. Our intuition was correct, food was sub par, wife sent back steak because it was cold. The fluctuation was weird. I've had better for the price. The table next to us got offered desserts that we didn't. Seemed a little Inconsistent. Then we ordered the rigatoni with meatball, sausage and short rib. The sauce was authentic Italian flavor. Felt like I was transported to Milan. So tasty!!! Next we ordered the bistec Florentines. The evening starts off with the awful pretentious waiter arguing with us that a $65 bottle of pinot gregio is better than the $48 bottle we ordered. The bottle and the glasses were not chilled when served. When we asked him why, his response was "people said so." The dinning room, which was beautifully appointed was less than half full, all he did was rush us. I found the prices ridiculously high for the items we ordered and the quality of those items, Veal parm chop $58 plus $14 for a half order of pasta, very little meat, and lots of water on the pasta. $32 for chicken parm which was one very veiny piece that I couldn't cut with a steak knife, also $14 for half order of watery pasta. They need new colanders. The meat ball appetizer was very good, but definitely not enough to share. They wanted $80 for a lobster dinner, and the steaks were beyond crazy priced. The bill arrived wrong, and they argued with us. Thank goodness the bus boy was on the ball. I feel that they have priced themselves right out of the market, which is why the dining room was less than half full at 8pm on a Saturday night. The lack of parking and very dirty tiny (one at a time) restrooms adds to the reason you should chose somewhere else to go for good Italian food at reasonable prices. read more

We love the food, chefs, and service but she has more often than not been overwhelmed from the natural massive reservation lists of a striving restaurant. This stress she has often put onto the guests waiting for a table.
