Let me start by saying I wish I would have contacted Great Lakes Appliance first. Our dryer stopped…read moreheating up and therefore was not drying our clothes properly. As this is one of the appliances covered under DTE's Home Protection Plus plan we have I contacted them and they sent out a company called Phil's Services. They came out on August 25th and said some parts needed to be ordered to complete the repair and they should be in in around 3 to 7 days and that someone would call me to schedule an appointment to have them installed. Weeks go by and no one from Phil's had called me so I take it upon myself to call and see what the hold up is. I am told I need to speak with their Parts Department, but no one was available and they'd call me back shortly. The following day someone finally calls me back and says the parts are on their way and should be in within 3 days. I said "Great, let's schedule an appointment now for you to come out and install them." and the guy tells me he can't do that until the parts actually come in. Two more weeks have gone by and no one from Phil's had called me back. Fed up and aggravated beyond belief I contacted DTE and they sincerely apologized for the troubles and said they would send out someone from Great Lakes and they were a much better company to deal with than Phil's. The tech was scheduled between 1:00PM and 2:00PM, but actually showed up early. Kudos to that! My only small complaint is he didn't call to let me know he was on his way. Luckily I work from home so I was here. No big problem. I explained everything that had been going on with Phil's and he seemed genuinely shocked. According to him he said that both the flame sensor and coils that were originally diagnosed as the problem per Phil's are very common parts any HVAC tech should have on hand in their truck and the issue should have been fixed that day. If they don't have them in their truck then their shop most certainly does. The fact I had to wait a month and never got a call back from Phil's was truly unacceptable. He then went on to tell me that it didn't even look like the tech from Phil's even opened up the dryer to see what was wrong and just took an educated guess at the problem. Reason being is that of the two parts that were needing to be replaced per Phil's, only one was actually bad which were the coils. Not more than 15 minutes later he had the part replaced and the dryer working again. Thank God for Great Lakes Appliance. They will most certainly get my business again if a problem ever arises.

They answered my questions, explained the warranty clearly, and didn't make me feel rushed or pressured. I was really impressed with the selection they had to choose from. The stove I got was clean, affordable, and the delivery went smoothly. You can tell they're really trying to turn things around. I'll definitely be back.

I have been dealing with Cass Appliances for four months now, and I am extremely disappointed with…read morethe way this situation has been handled. The main issue has been my washer. My washer was replaced, and I was given a loaner while waiting for the replacement. Four months later, I am STILL dealing with problems. The loaner washer barely spins properly anymore, and I am constantly having issues with it. Now the dryer is also starting to go out. The most frustrating part is the communication and lack of follow-through. Every time I call, I seem to get a different story. I have been told that my washer is stuck on a truck, that the truck broke down, and at another point I was told that it had already been delivered but that we weren't home. There have been multiple scheduled calls and deliveries where nobody showed up, and there have also been times when nobody answers the phone. I understand that delays and unexpected problems can happen, but four months is unacceptable, especially when I have continued to be left with a malfunctioning loaner and no clear resolution. At this point, I just want the appliance I was promised and some honest, consistent communication. Customers shouldn't have to repeatedly call, chase people down, and receive a different explanation every time just to get an issue resolved. I hope management sees this review and takes it seriously, because this experience has been incredibly frustrating.

UNMITIGATED SCAM: Demanded Full Payment Upfront, Failed the Job, and STOLE 25%! Do not ever trust…read moreMr. Appliance--they are running an absolute racket. We hired them for a stove exhaust job, and before they even touched a single tool, they aggressively demanded the entire cost upfront. Foolishly, we trusted them and paid in full. That was our first mistake. On the day of the scheduled repair, the technician showed up, took one look at the job, and openly admitted he did not have the ability, training, or knowledge to complete the work. Instead of doing his job, he told us to contact the manufacturer. They pocketed our hard-earned money for a service they were completely unqualified to perform. It gets worse. When we demanded our money back for their total failure, they flagrantly deducted 25% of our total payment as a "fee" for a job they canceled because of their own incompetence. To top it all off, the repairman--who doubled as a slimy, high-pressure salesman--was incredibly secretive, shady, and untrustworthy from start to finish. They are predatory, incompetent, and deceitful. Do not let them pressure you into paying upfront for work they cannot do. Save your money, protect your home, and look literally anywhere else.
