Given more days in Luqillo, I would return every day to try all their food…read more I started with the arepas de coco - very well fried, soft, doughy puffs complemented with a guava sauce. They were addictive, it was hard to not eat all of them. They would also be a good dessert - reminiscent of beignets, but with less oil and sugar. For main I had the churrasco skirt steak with rice of the day. It was a generous portion of steak topped with a delicious churrasco fragrant with garlic. The rice was well seasoned and perfectly cooked texture. Server was enthusiastic about the food and providing suggestions. Though I suspect everything on the menu is delicious. Guests at all the tables around me raved about their meals. Indoor seating is cozy and comfortable. There's a small bar with counter seating.

The waitress (who was super cool) had to go and remind the bar to make my wife's drink. Then, she had to go and ask the kitchen why my entree hadn't come out when everyone else had been served 5 minutes prior. The food was good (especially the churrasco), but this was a very expensive meal. Like, "Holy hell is that correct?!"-when they bring you the check level expensive. We would go back for those drinks, but I would need to sell a couple of non-vital organs before we could afford to go back for a full meal.

We came here on a Saturday evening as a party of five and had about a 15-20 minute wait, and boy…read moreit was absolutely worth it. From the start, our waitress was friendly, energetic, and clearly proud of the food. She brought our table a sample of the Masitas en Salsa de Plátano (pork cubes in plantain gravy), and wow...what a great introduction. The pork was incredibly tender and juicy, and the gravy was rich and savory. The best way I can describe it is like eating a pastel soup. It was so good that a couple of us ended up ordering it as our entrée. We also tried the Christmas Plate, which came with pernil, pastel de masa, yellow rice, and plátanos maduros. Everything was flavorful and tasted like a typical PR holiday meal. To drink, we had guava mojitos, which were refreshing. The service was fast and attentive throughout the meal, and what really made the evening special happened at the end. We were quietly singing "Happy Birthday" to my boyfriend when our waitress overheard us and immediately rallied the staff to come over and celebrate with him officially. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the night even more memorable. For dessert, I had the flan and my boyfriend had the chocolate tres leches cake. Both were delicious and a great way to end the meal. Between the welcoming service, casual atmosphere, and outstanding Puerto Rican food, We left happy and full.
