How do you explain this amount of wasabi and pickled ginger to a customer. Unacceptable. We do pay our money for the food.

This place has really lost it's touch. When you buy sushi you expect the condiments to go with it. But Sarku Japan decided on their own to barely give you any, also they decided to not give you the dip for the dumplings in Bento box. Paying more for less. Very annoying.

It was good, could have used more veggies in the fried ride. Add a soda and a roll to the bento box lunch special and you are at $10-11

歓迎 Which means "welcome" to Sarku to the Throgs Neck Shopping Center and our Nabe! It is nice to have more fast dining choices coming to us!! The chain is known for their fresh, made to order selection of Japanese cuisine such as all kinds of Teriyaki, bento boxes, all kinds of sushi and sides of dumplings, spring rolls, seaweed salad, edamame, miso soup, and a kids menu! I selected their Grand Opening special of Chicken Teriyaki with rice and mixed veggies all for $4.99, which was a generous amount in a nice take out box with sauce on top. Everything was fresh, quick and delicious! The Dining room was spacious and nicely decorated and the staff was pleasant and eager to serve me! Welcome Sakura and Arigatō for giving our nabe another good choice!

This is a great spot to stop in for a quick bite after shopping. It's fast Japanese food, but it's still great and fresh for its price. They have good $8 bento boxes with beef teriyaki, salad, gyoza and 4 California rolls but no miso soup is included. Not bad for the price but at a nearby joint you can get real good beef teriyaki, miso, salad, gyoza and six California rolls for only $9. The menu is a little limited, but everything is fresh and tastes good. It's also very clean. Will definitely be returning.

Nice and convenient location from Target and other stores, plenty of parking. Decent customer service. I do recommend the bento boxes. Reasonable prices. However, the shrimp teriyaki needs more seasoning. The chicken teriyaki tastes good tho.

As good as fast Asian food gets! Tasty, clean and budget-friendly, Sarku is a great addition to the shopping plaza.

The roll pictured is the Indiana roll with salmon skin inside and eel/avocado on top - very tasty. After visiting regularly, I've come to know the wonderful people who run it--with professionalism, warmth, and consistency. A quick disclaimer: I'm recommending Kiraku based on a personal preference for sushi that honors traditional preparation--clean, balanced, and free from excessive sauces or unnecessary embellishments. I've been to highly rated sushi spots where every piece is smothered in sugary, multi-ingredient sauces, masking the flavor of the fish and turning the experience into something overly rich and far from authentic. Kiraku stands apart. Their sushi is beautifully restrained--great-quality fish, well-prepared rice, and flavors that are distinct and harmonious. For those who enjoy bolder options, there are a few heavier sauce-based rolls on the menu. But for me, the real strength of Kiraku lies in its refined, minimalist approach. If you appreciate true sushi craftsmanship, this place is a hidden neighborhood gem with extremely good pricing for the quality you're getting.

I ordered a salad bowl, and the ordering process is actually kind of interesting. They give you a paper with different options, and you check off what you want in your bowl. Everything came out pretty quickly, but the food isn't exactly hot, more like warm. Only the protein and rice are cooked, while any veggies you add come out cold, which is something to keep in mind. I also tried the pork gyoza, which were just okay. The overall service was also pretty average; the workers weren't particularly friendly. The drinks were good, the food was good, and the vibe was exactly what I've come to expect from them. But let me tell you about what happened after. When I got home, I didn't realize that I had left my sunglasses on the table. The next morning, when I couldn't find them, I figured that must be where I left them. I reached out to the restaurant, but honestly, in my heart I thought there was no way I'd ever see them again. Well... I was completely wrong. I received a response, and America (I hope I spelled her name correctly!) found them and held them for me until I could pick them up. Yes, the sunglasses were brand name, but to me it's the honesty and loyalty that really speaks volumes. That kind of integrity says a lot about a place and the people who work there. I'm incredibly thankful--and it's just another reason I'll keep coming back.

The staff were so sweet and let us keep the extra rolls for free so I couldn't complain even if I wanted to (and I did b/c there was an error on the bill but I didn't wanna seem ungrateful lol) A total of 7 rolls and good vibes were worth it. Started off with a Tsingtao (Chinese Beer) smooth and refreshing, a solid choice with hibachi. There was a bit of a wait for the chef to come out, but once he did, it was totally worth it. He struck the perfect balance--entertaining without overdoing it. We ordered the steak, scallops, lobster, and shrimp, and everything came out cooked perfectly. Portions were generous enough that we even had leftovers to take home for the next day, which is always a plus. I really liked the light-up hibachi tables, a nice modern touch. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable, and the service throughout was good. Overall, the place looks great, the food was on point, and the vibe was just right. We'll definitely be back.

Between my first review and now, Ikko has maintained their relevance. They've kept up by offering decent Asian inspired apps and entrees. At the tail end of Covid they pivoted to include Seafood Boils as an option. Not a fan of boils so unsure how that option is going. Another option, Hibachi, which we also are not big fans of, unless forced upon us by friends or family. Is prepared on these red glowing tables and appears to appeal to the masses, so that's a good thing. During our visits, generally on the early side of dinner hours, service has always been attentive and our meals, most often than not are prepared as expected. There has been the occasional slight hiccup while dining in or when ordering for delivery, but nothing major. The aesthetics of this place continues to appeal with their colorful facade. And their interior is just as inviting with ambient lighting of red hues throughout the restaurant, enhancing the Asian inspired statues and textured wall designs. It's nice that Ikko has kept up with this large piece of real estate, providing decent meals and continuing to keeping themselves relevant within the neighborhood.
