The chicken was pretty good and the portion size was alright though adding more sauce to it wouldnt hurt. The white rice wasnt cook- was a bit fluffy and dry in a good way like al dente. Prices have increased without notice and the food varies from day to day. I only order the California Tempura Roll and something was off last night 4 September 26. The portion wasn't as full, skimpy sauce, texture implied it was reheated, I asked for extra green sauce and I got less, hot mayo is an up charge and I specifically asked for the chef who'd made my order on Tuesday to prepare it and it was not the same and the look on their faces as I picked up my order was off putting!!!! Efficient service, fast food atmosphere, food was decent, prices were inexpensive. We went for a quick lunch and ordered 3*chicken Teriyaki: the portion was pretty big, chicken Teriyaki tasted good. 2* shrimp bento: it was okay, the dumplings were dry and the filling wasn't real meat, shrimps were a few, the portion was much smaller than the chicken teriyaki. I think for the cost of the meal they do an excellent job at providing a good tasting chicken teriyaki meal with vegetables. It was busy and they were under staffed so it did take a long time to get our food. But, that is not uncommon with Restuarants during Covid when they have had to cut down staffing. This place is better than I'd expected it to be. The shopping center is getting a little long in the tooth, and this place is a shining spot in the crown of this center. First off is the price. It's reasonable. Second, there's nothing here that really stands out. It's better than it should be, really is, but nothing has me raving. I had the Bento Box, and 5/6 of the compartments were good, for example. One thing was soggy, and I can't remember what it was. Sorry. I came in here today for lunch because this place is close to where I go for physical therapy. I've been to a couple of their locations in Virginia,cans I've always had a good experience. When I came in today, there were only about three other groups already sitting down and eating, so there was no wait at all to place my order. I went for the chicken and shrimp teriyaki special because this was an entire I had not tried before. The teriyaki special along with a drink came out to be about $10. It took them just a few minutes to prepare this and call out my number to pick-up. The teriyaki chicken and shrimp tasted wonderful after the first bite, but there was definitely more chicken than shrimp. I counted 3 shrimp total. The ambiance was a little boring, although it was very quiet, with no music playing at all. The employees seemed to be working efficiency,cans you could tell that they were all friends working together. It's definitely more if a fast food Japanese food that is type concept. read more

I chose smoked-eel maki roll sushi; it was OK, but all other items were less than we expected. My wife ordered several terpura items, but all turned out to be re-warmed cold-in-the-center items, definitely not freshly prepared. The noodles with shrimp preparation had flavorless and cold cocktail shrimp, although I thought the noodles were worth eating, rather than discarding. Salad, surprisingly, was only dry greens. We expected at least a splash of ginger dressing. The meal was ready in two parts, we were expected to respond to a verbal summons to pick up the second half. There's nothing extraordinary about this location. It meets my expectations, but definitely doesn't exceed them. It's clean enough, the service is satisfactory, and there's plenty of free parking. The food tastes good, so it's an acceptable value for your money. I typically get the bento boxes because it gives you quite a bit of food for about $7. I wish they'd put more dressing on the salad they give you, though. The dressing (ginger, I believe) tastes good, but it's scarce. The pineapples taste strange to me, too. I don't know if it's how they store them or a sauce the put them in ... it just tastes off. Stopped in for lunch during the week. The service wasn't very fast, food wasn't very good, sushi was in fact bad, smelled and tasted very fishy, as in not fresh at all. What to expect... well, Mall Food Court food actually. It is all pre-prepared at some large factory somewhere then shipped frozen to this chain where it is thawed and served. Don't know if that's a fact but sure tastes and looks that way. While this place is very close to home, parking is free and plentiful, and I do like Japanese food, I will NOT be going back just isn't worth spending the money on... maybe if it were free, maybe if I were really hungry. I don't understand the low reviews at all. The chicken teriyaku is great! Portions are huge. Price is extremely competitive. In fact M-Thurs you can get a huge box of rice, veggies, and chicken teriyaki for $5 and change. That's cheaper than wendy's or other fast food and more/better food. It tastes very fresh and is served up hot. I always get white rice so I can't speak to the noodles, but they are greasy at most places I've been to. If you don't like greasy noodles, you should probably order it with white rice. Same with fried rice... it's fried, so expect more grease than white rice. service is always fast and with a smile. Lines move quickly and although they don't have many tables, the turnover is quick. read more

The food is solid and will get the job done to satisfy your hunger. This is a great place if your feeling like eating chicken, shrimp, or beef teriyaki, sushi, and dumplings, and rolls (like egg rolls and etc) this is such an awesome and delicious place the staff were ok the cashier was nice it's just that people who give you your food in the trays. If there's four people your order will take really long 30 minutes and if there's even two people it'll still take 15 minutes it's kinds slow. Overall I love eating here for dinner! read more

NOISE POLLUTION. I ate here yesterday with a friend. He seemed happy with his chicken teriyaki. My California rolls tasted a bit plastic - actually they had no flavor at all. My miso soup was extremely diluted - the cashier had made it in a paper cup from a instant sachet to which she added soy sauce. I think it might have been okay if she didn't dilute it so much. The most memorable thing about this place was the extreme noise pollution making it almost impossible to have a conversation with my friend. The large extraction hood behind the counter on the right is extremely noisy to the extent that it is so loud, it is uncomfortable sitting anywhere in the restaurant. To make things worse, the ADT front door alarm unit located just above where we sat made a very loud beeping noise every time someone walked through the door - most annoying. One would think the management could set it so that it is silent - I guess they don't even hear it due to the very loud extraction hood fan noise or perhaps they just don't care. Lunch was an unpleasant experience and I won't be back anytime soon. I do have to come to the center quite regularly but in the future, I will try one of the many other restaurants which include Subway, Boston Market, even a Chinese restaurant. read more

i always order a chicken deluxe bento combo....you get chicken over rice, 4 pieces of California rolls, 2 fried shrimps, fried vegetables, and salad. It's definitely filling. Their meats and rolls are always tasty. However, i can't say the same for their fried stuffs, they aren't bad, but sometimes, they are overdone or not soft enough. When they get it right, its the best bento you can have. More dressing on the salad would be better, so ask for more, and dont forget to get a pack of soy sauce for the sushi rolls. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! DO NOT COME HERE! First of all, the cashier who said she was new is incompetent. From the moment I gave her my order she was rude and with an attitude. Every time I asked for something she would reply with " huh? ". I get my food, and what do you know? MY ORDER WAS WRONG! So I tried to explain to her it was wrong, and she clearly couldn't understand me because she couldn't speak English. Then she gave me a nasty attitude. The food was good but has been disappointed multiples times. Last visit was YUCKY/DIRTY because the only colored server mopped the floor, went to the trash can and got my food without washing her hands. I told the colored server to wash her hand first but didn't even flint and just ignored me. Another colored lady customer was so disgusted and eying her badly but the server seems to be unaffected. Told the asian cashier about it but didn't seem to make a difference. Previous visit another younger colored cashier also made me use the 2.99 coupon to get a better discount when buying a 2nd chicken teriyaki but when she rang it she used a more expensive price which only saved me 25 cents. My dining experience was anything but great. I stopped by to order some dinner and bought orange chicken with brown rice and vegetables. Now I'll admit that the food tasted good, but what I wasn't prepared for what happened next. After I finished my plate, I had excruciating stomach aches that lasted for about an hour. I could literally feel the food flow through my digestive system. Then, I had the sudden urge to go to the bathroom. I have been to this location a couple of times; first time I had to wait a loooong time for the food and whats interesting is people who were behind me got the food, i went to ask them and then they forgot to put the receipt on the tray so I never got my order, finally i got my food i came home and the fried rice was watery!!! A few weeks back i went to order food again and then the person who gave me the food was asking is that all, asking if I did not order more food..
