4 dishes we'll never forget.

Let's start with the food, we order 2 appetizers, and 4 dishes. All of the dishes were perfectly done super hot and so so good. We called out ordering, and we're told that it would be 20/25 minutes. It was ready when we arrived. I'll be back very soon!

Menu they have is old. So expect a dollar or two extra for each item. Wonton soup is really really good. And it's just $3. The soft shell crab dinner is a huge portion. It's served on a bed of crispy noodles and sautéed onions which is tasty. Came with brown rice. However, it is heavily breaded. The restaurant doesn't have dine in service as of today. Strictly for take out. Better to order over phone in advance and it ll be a quick pick up. I went for dinner. Parking was easy

General Tso's Lunch Special w/ fried rice

This was an average Chinese food restaurant experience in Silver Spring. I ordered their General Tso's Chicken lunch special that includes your entree, choice of white rice or fried rice and a side of egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, wonton soup (all soups come with an additional charge) or one spring roll all for about $10...or at least I thought. As another yelper mentioned, there is a discrepancy with pricing and there is a sign behind the register that says menu items are $1 more. After looking at my bank account, I was charged $11.54 despite my online order coming to a total of $10.55 including tax. Had I not picked up, I wouldn't have been aware of the price increase or that I was actually being charged more than what was originally stated. That seems a little dishonest to me. Just update the menu prices! This was my first time ordering Chinese food near DTSS but I think I'll keep looking for my regular go-to. The food wasn't bad by any means but it also wasn't great either. The fried rice was probably the best item and was better than other fried rices I've had but the General Tso's Chicken wasn't spicy or flavorful despite my choosing the spicy option. I was expecting better given other positives reviews.

Food is alright for chinese food. Tasty and portions were about the right size as well. Definitely get a lunch combo if you can since it's about $10

Food was great, order was ready super quick and the price was reasonable, chicken was hot and sushi was cold. Crab Rangoon is too notch!

Bored of eating in so decided to try out Spring Garden. They had one of the better ratings when searching for Chinese food spots so decided to try them out. Really enjoyed that they had a wide menu selection. For COVID they're currently only doing take out. They've basically turned their doorway into a take out window which is nice to know no other customers are inside. They have parking spots marked as well. Overall thought the entree dishes were pretty good. I had the sesame chicken, delicious flavor and a good crunchy texture. My partner had the lo mein and said it was really good, they liked the thicker noodles. I wasn't a huge fan of the vegetarian dumplings. Maybe the meat ones are better? Will definitely be back for the sesame chicken though!!

This place is awful! After waiting over 20 minutes for one of the four dirty tables to be cleaned we were finally seated. Apps were terrible! (See pictures). One of the three entrees that we ordered was delivered 20 minutes before the other two to the wrong table. Several minutes later, the waitress realized her error and promptly removed it from the wrong table and re-served it to us. (Gross!!!). The entrees taste like shopping mall Chinese food, except that ours were served at room temperature. Stay away!

I'm updating my review now. I went to this Raku several times for lunch and dinner more than…read moredecade. It's convenient location while you're in Bethesda Row area. Raku is an Asian fusion restaurant and have some verity of Asians menus that's nice things about here. Their popular coconuts curry noodles soup is from Thai or Vietnamese coconuts curry, and not as spicy as authentic Thai or Vietnamese ones so It's easy to eat. You can choose from 3 type of noodles and different soup - curry or simple broth. It's probably better choice here than their sushi for my preference. If we just want Sushi in near Bethesda area, Sushiko in Chavy Chase is good. When we crave for Authentic sushi we just go to authentic Japanese restaurants ( some Michelin stars "Sushi Taro" in DC ) that is truly authentic quality. I also go to other one for sushi ( "Love Sushi Makoto" in DC ) I know that's not even comparable category as those restaurants offers authentic real foods by Japanese owner and chef, and ingredients are real from Japan. I know It's not fair to compare to Asian fusion restaurant like Raku or typical local sushi places that other Asian or American own the place. Raku is very reasonably priced as it should be for actual ingredients. Price stays reasonable that makes this place a popular spot too. I have to be honest their miso soup tastes no real authentic favor to me. But Raku is definitely better choice of quality foods overall compare to other Asian restaurants in Bethesda. Sushi chefs and waitresses are asian and none of them are Japanese and that is ok as most of Sushi chefs and Sushi restaurants in USA the workers are not Japanese anyways. It is actually hard to find Sushi restaurants that owned by Japanese with real Japanese chefs and waitresses and staff in USA. They sometimes says welcome "irasshai" in some Japanese greeting ( that's only used in restaurant setting ) with their wrong accent that is cute to me:) Bethesda is a cute little town and Bethesda row is just like a corner cute village with surrounded by basic restaurants and cafes, normal shops, nothing luxury really, but safer and quiet, clean little town. Neighbors enjoy to go out to restaurants including this Raku as easy to access from near suburbs housing area, so my friends does and walking distance from their houses. This restaurant set small tables very close to next seat and there's very small bar that space is limited, that's as why it's always filled up and crowded. It's uncomfortable and no privacy, I wish they make space between next seats. Except winter, they offer outside seats and dog friendly that's a bonus for dog lovers.

I attempted to contact the restaurant via email directly but no direct contact info provided on…read moretheir website, so I am posting here. Summary: it litterally left a bad taste in my. Off Uni which I saved for the last taste, first pieces stunk of ammonia, replacements were just bitter and off as well. These were suppose to be chef choice and he chose to serve off uni which could have easily been deteced with a sniff test. The salmon roe was also soft, runny, tasteless and off color. The remainder of the shashimi was OK but lacked the freshness one would expect for the price. Also the platter was so cluttered I could not identify what was what. Labels would be helpful. First time visit, first impressions are importent. Not the best experience I am giving an 1 star rating to draw attention for their managment and maybe fair warning to customers. I visited Raku on Thursday April 30 @7:30, Restaurant was about 3/4 full. A bit tight seasting as other's had described. Elbow to elbow almost. Typically noisy as resturantes are these days. 1. When we walked in, the receptionist / greeter had no uniform or ID badge so a bit confusing and no reception desk. Not the most welcoming hospitality. 2. Wait staff sort of dissappeared mid service or was just unattentive, they were right around the corner at the wait station. I dropped a chopstick on the floor and needed a repacement. I could not get eye contact so I had to get up and request a replacement after a few minutes. The two of us order the TOKU JO SASHIMI - (38) Chef's Choice ~ White or Multigrain Rice - $110. 3. The shashim was served an a single platter which was a bit crowded and lacked the artistry or elegance a $110 platter of shashimi shoud be presented. Many of the pieces were cut too large and chunky. I appreciate the generosity of the protions but they could / should have been sliced in half. Most of the fish tasted OK but lacked the brightness you expect from fresh cut shashimi. Maybe these platters are pre-prepared and storred in the cooler until needed. The rice served in bowls with the platter was extreemly bland to me. No flavor at all and a bit over cooked. 4. We ordeed the corn meal coated calamari as appetizer. This was adequate but lacked seasoniong and included a some what bland ambigious dipping sauce. Maybe garlic aioli. This was compped in compensation for the off uni in the sushi platter. Probabaly not going back regardless as I am not local.

I'm going to start with the positive. I thought the two workers at this Suki Hana (located inside…read moreof Wheaton Westfield Mall) were very nice and friendly. Also, I liked that the food smelled had a nice aroma, which actually drew me to Suki Hana. Also, I appreciated that most of the food items for my dish were prepared on the spot. The struggle bit. I ordered a shrimp and beef teriaki box (about $14), which comes with a generous portion of beef and shrimp, two egg rolls, three dumplings, and a small green salad. While I was not expecting gourment food from a mall's food court, I was expecting something delicious. I think the main problem with the food is that the beef tasted really old and had the texture of chewing gum. I thought white sauce used for the salad dressing probably had only one more day of freshness in it. I will say that the spring rolls and gyoza were the saving grace for the meal. If I have pangs of hunger during my next trip to Westfield Mall, I more than likely will skip Suki Hana...or the food court in general since there are plenty of places to get decent food in close proximity to the mall.
