Great food and great, friendly service. The fritanga wrap and sandwhich are both great, but I think the sandwhich wins. Both super full of food. The fries are also good and crispy. The only thing that wasn't that good were the croquetas. Tasted like made from frozen. Oh and amazing old school music (English). Need their playlist.

I was debating between a 3 and a 4. He ordered for us in Spanish, so there should have been no confusion. But there was. We ordered a 16" Ham and Cheese sandwich to share. One side would have no pickles and I would get those extra pickles. SCORE! Well, first we received the plantain chips with some sort of vinegar? Not sure if that is what it is. That is what it tasted like. This was a nice snack. We each ordered a Fanta, again he ordered everything, we received two Crush sodas. Ok, well they exchanged the sodas. When we got the sandwiches, I looked to eat a couple of the pickles. Well, there was one on one half of my 8 inch sandwich. Not only that, there was pork on it. He did not order that. Heck, I could have ordered a ham and cheese sandwich in Spanish. The server had a whole discussion with him. I don't know what she said but she finally took away the sandwich. We got a new one and one to go. The sandwich had a couple pickles on each side, not enough. Anyway, there was also very little of the "special sauce". This happens to be pickle sauce. Anyway, he asked for more for me and I got the whole bottle. I used a LOT. That stuff is delicious and dangerous. :) The sandwich itself was alright. I mean, some of the ham was hot, some of it was cold. Too much confusion and annoyance here. This place has been there for a while. He said it was better with the previous owners. They had a better oven. I would go back.

8" Sarussi Pork Sandwhich with World Famous Sarussi Sauce

So I hope this review finds all of you doing well! Well I found myself in the Little Havana area today and after running a few errands I had a craving for a Sarussi sandwich, which has been a staple Cuban sandwich shop here in Miami about as far back as I can remember. This place is really a part of Hispanic Miami history not too mention that these guys were featured on an episode of "Man vs Food" with Adam Richman. That said, me and Sarussi have some all good history from back in the day so I made a point of stopping by for lunch. Location I visited is on SW 8 St and SW 67 Ave, which has been here since 1964. Pretty much the same location I have been visiting since forever; however, they do have other locations now. Not too many issues with Parking today but be warned as on weekdays this place is jumping and parking can be challenging. Plenty of parking in the surrounding areas but the strip mall it is located in has limited parking. Thinking you will just park in the mall across the street.... Think again as your call will get towed, so don't risk it or it will cost you some money. So upon arriving staff were very friendly and greeted me and not too long after I was sitting at the counter. Just a heads up that you may need to practice your survival Spanish while you are here but hey it's Miami right! All part of the experience! Atmosphere here is very typical of most Hispanic cafeterias which as you can imagine hits home for me. No worries on the menu as it is in English. Tables are available but call me nostalgic as sitting at the counter takes me back to my days in high school! So on this occasion I decided to keep it traditional and go with their 8" Pork Sandwich with onions, cheese, potato stick fries and their world famous Sarussi sauce. What can I say but when I took that first bite, it was like visiting an old friend I had not seen in quite some time. I think the angles sang and I heard choir music! It was totally awesome not just because it tasted great which it did but Sarussi has always done a phenomenal job with their bread. It's the perfect combination of warm and soft yet still crunchy. It really ties everything together so well. Not saying that you can't have a bad experience here but for the most part they typically knock it out of the park with their sandwiches. That said, If you really want to round out the Hispanic sandwich experience you may want to order one of their Cuban fruit based shakes. Mamey "aka Sapote" is my favorite but you can never go wrong with a Papaya "aka Fruta Bomba" shake. Rounding out the overall experience today, I ordered a "Cortadito" which is pretty much an Italian macchiato which was very good as well. At its roots this is a multi-generation owned Hispanic business that has been serving the Miami community for as far back as I can remember. If you are visiting Miami or are just in the area and really want to try some Miami history, you definitely want to stop in and give Sarussi's a try. Truthfully, I don't think you will be disappointed! Enjoy and Bon appétit m'es amis!

I used to come here a long, long time ago... so today, as I drove by, I decided to turn around and pay Sarussi a visit. It is definitely different from what I remember as far as decor... but the churrasco sandwich was still very decent , and their signature sauce is actually the same. I think that one of their special sandwiches is the Cuban Sarussi, and from what I saw on reviews, I think it still is. Good place overall for a good sandwich and a cold beer. Give it a try when in the area.

After a friend hyped up the sandwiches here, I had to come try it out. I can safely say that this is the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had. From the moment I got it, just the smell alone had me over the moon. Sarussi has been featured on the popular TV show, Man vs. Food. The bread is what you first are mesmerized by. This is glistening in the light and is so fresh and soft. Then the meats - the ham and pork is so flavorful and generously added. The cheese is also super subtle yet adds a great chewiness to the sandwich. The pickles add a nice crunch and tartness to balance the savory and fatty meats and cheese. Finally. The secret sauce. That sauce, so tangy, so thick, and so good. It's imperative to have for this sandwich alone. Overall, for the best Cuban sandwich known to man, come here. You won't be disappointed.

Sarussi had a lot of hype back in the day but it has died down. However, the food is as good as it's always been. I love coming here for lunch. Their menu is small but full of solid choices. Their sandwiches are where it's at. My go to order is the churrasco sandwich with their special house sauce and un batido de banana (banana smoothie). SOOOO GOOOD!

This is an OG spot! It came from a recommendation from a cuban who has lived in Miami for 30+ years saying it's delicious. And it sure was, I got the original cuban sandwich. The cuban bread is buttery and perfect! The limonade is fresh and perfectly tart and sweet at the same time. Parking is limited, but as expected for being Calle ocho 8th street OG spot. You're better off getting your sandwich to go at this particular location.

I heard about this place on IG and was excited to try it. I can honestly say this was by far the worst food I have ever eaten in Miami. We ordered the Fritanga wrap and the Cuban sandwich. The gallon pinto was very flavorless and the churrasco was dry and rubbery. The 'secret sauce' they use taste like salty mayo mixed with cheese sauce. The Cuban sandwich was NOT a traditional Cuban sandwich. It was dry, smothered in margarine (not even real butter) and did not have pork in it. So basically a ham sandwich with Swiss cheese and lathered in margarine which over powered the taste of anything in that sandwich. At a whopping g $23 gif the wrap and $19 for the Cuban sandwich, one wound expect a decent meal. Nope! Mayor fail and lesson learned.

The Shakshuka was okay--perfectly edible, but nothing memorable. The Steak & Eggs was pretty much the same: decent, but definitely not worth the premium price. The biggest disappointment was the pancakes. They were dense, had noticeable lumps in the batter, and were nowhere near as light and fluffy as good pancakes should be. The syrup also didn't taste like real maple syrup, which was surprising considering how expensive everything is. Speaking of prices, Café Bastille is seriously overpriced for what it delivers. The restaurant also wasn't cool enough inside--the air conditioning struggled to keep the space comfortable, which made the meal less enjoyable. The one bright spot was the service. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did an excellent job throughout the meal. One more thing that is becoming increasingly frustrating in Miami: the bill already included a mandatory 20% gratuity. While I always tip for good service, automatically adding 20% regardless of the experience feels excessive. This trend is getting out of control and takes away the customer's ability to reward service based on merit. Overall, this feels like a place designed more for tourists than for locals. Nice presentation and good marketing, but the food simply doesn't justify the prices. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back.

I happened to be in the area so I checked out this place which was pretty cool. They had bar seating, couch seating with tables as well as outdoor seating. A lot of people were there working on their computers while having drinks and pastries. I had a salted caramel latte which I ordered at the computer and was served quickly. I requested it with oat milk, but it was made with whole milk and the barista had no issue remaking it for me, which was nice. The flavor was amazing with just the right amount of salt and caramel; it was not too sweet and it was very smooth. The only issue I had was the parking, there was absolutely no place to park so I had to double park in an alley and run in to get my drink. However, I imagine if you live or work in the area it would be a cute place to pop in and get a beverage. They also had empanadas and some various pound cake slices which people were partaking in so I imagine they were decent.
