The Cuban, overall, was just ok. This is based completely on the bread. The meat tasted pretty good, but it was on the salty side. I could taste a little citrus in the pork, giving it a good potential, but the salt quickly killed it. Back to the bread, I like a hard pressed Cuban, this was not that. It was pressed some, like I'd expect from a spatula on a griddle, but the bread was still pretty thick and soft - with a very light toast on it. There really isn't service to speak of - your order at a register. No complaints about service, there's just really none in this style of restaurant. Ambiance isn't impressive, it's literally some tables and booths to sit at, similar to what you'll see at any fast food place. When it comes to Cuban sandwiches, I don't really care about service and ambiance if the sandwich is good. It was just meh. I don't think I'd come back for a Cuban here. read more

What an epic experience for a Cuban Sammie!! don't know how they shave the little fries to small and not over cook them but they nailed on mine... However, today I wanted something more hearty and ordered the Cuban Bowl with two frita patties. It came with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains. Can I just say the bowl was outstanding. I got chicken for my mom and two kids. The bowl comes with rice beans, chicken with sautéed chopped onions and chopped plantains. This was absolutely delicious! The plantains were so good. The chicken cooked to perfection. Honestly the bowl was worth it's $8.99. It also included a lot of food! You order at the front, wait for your food and leave. I ordered the Original Frita and Batido de Mamey. The Frita was appetizing, however it was a little dry. The Batido de Mamey was delicious, definitely recommend ordering it. Everything yells fast casual in the Cuban Guys, because everything basically self serve, except the food. The utensils and condiments are all located towards the exit. Once your food is ready you grab what you need and leave, or you can eat it there. From the initial call to inquire, my hubby and I knew that we were dealing with professionals that love what they do and are proud of their product. Jorge, one of the owners, without hesitation answered all my questions and sent to us the catering menu that would work best for the school. The planning aspect of hiring their food truck and working with Jorge was beyond effortless...! Food truck -- We decided to not only commit to feeding my daughter's class but also all the school's staff and faculty which was no small task. The food truck got to school in plenty of time to setup, be lunch time ready and deal with the hungry crowd. The turnaround time from placing the order to getting the food was minutes...they have it down to a timing science. The staff was friendly, professional and easy to work with...they were pros..! The food truck itself is visually appealing and brought excitement to the kids' last day of school. Food -- Wow and can I say...wow again...!! The menu for the kids and faculty was -- Grilled chicken salad, a Cuban Bowl (lechon, masitas and chicken), Cuban fritas with french fries, Pan con lechon with yuca fries, Pan con bistec and chicken tenders with french fries. The kids and school faculty were beyond thrilled with their food menu choices and so grateful that we didn't send over pizza boxes or soggy burgers. My daughter tried the chicken tenders and fries; they were big pieces of tender and flavorful goodness and the hand-cut fries with a bit of seasoning complemented the whole meal. Some kids and faculty ordered the pan con bictec and they claimed and I quote, "it was the best pan con bistec I've ever had". Others tried the Cuban fritas and they were hooked by its savory taste. Prices - Reasonably priced for the quality of service and the delicious food you're getting. My daughter's class and school faculty's last day of school was a success thanks to the Cuban Guys. I'm still getting texts, emails and thank you notes from teachers that cannot thank us enough for the gesture but also to tell us how incredible everything was. I even had the Home and School President reach out to me to plan something else with the Cuban Guys at the start of the next school year...it would be my pleasure..! This guy does not know how to talk to customers. Instead of being friendly and welcoming he was more of the pushy and became frustrated when I asked questions about the menu. I would always pass by the one on Sunset or would see Burger Beast rolling out specials at the Westland location but never got around to going. First time trying a frita and it did not disappoint. Really good sandwiches at great prices. I ordered the chicken tenders with fries, the Cuban Guys Sandwich, and the large steak sandwich. The steak sandwich seems to bring more meat than the Cuban Guys sandwich but I thought the Cuban Guys was better. I think the difference is that it brings ham, which adds so much more flavor to the sandwich. Don't get me wrong both are excellent choices, but my preference would be the Cuban Guys Sandwich. This spot is FINALLY open! A hidden gem, seasoning is always perfect, not too salty, not bland AT ALL! Thank goodness , taking precautions during COVID with distancing and hand sanitizer. The staff is wonderful! From the moment you walk in and speak to Yari even though she has a mask on you know she's smiling, I came for breakfast today and had a bistec a caballo sandwich, it was delightful. The ambiance is amazing, music playing is soothing, kind of transports you to a nice mom and pop diner, the paintings up on the wall are both classic and futuristic, almost timeless, love the picture of the sandwiches and as I'm taking my last sip of coffee it almost reminds me of when my grandma would make me coffee at 8 years old. My family and I love Cuban guys. We are regular customers since we first tried out their sandwiches and their bowls. However, this last time we went, which was yesterday, the pork sandwiches were lacking the flavor they always tend to have and the bread was so soggy that it bent completely and all of the meat fell out. I thought it may have been just us but then my parents went a few hours later to order a steak sandwich since they also tend to eat there on the weekends lately and they said the same thing happened to them. The bread was extremely wet and soggy and even the fries that the steak sandwiches have in them were bad. We are not sure if the cook changed but we are very disappointed about our last visit. Not really sure if we will be back. :( read more
