It had been a long long time since we watched this episode on Man V Food and we finally made it to Miami to give Sarussi's a try! We came in on a weeknight, wednesday I believe, and the place was empty...scary empty...like us and another table were the only tables. but, we figured the area was mostly businesses and everything was closed so what the hell let's give it a go! our waitress was nice, gave good recommendations, and we ordered the Man V Food special sandwich, 8" size, an 8" Churrasco Sandwich, and one Mamey. the man v food sandwich is basically a supersized Cuban, on their delicious special bread, like wow that stuff was great!! The meats were all so tasty, juicy, flavorful, and tender; the sauce had a nice kick to it and so much delicious melty cheese! some mustard pickles and this thing was the bomb.com! my sandwich the churrasco, was also quite simple and amazing! tender juicy chunks of steak, with fritas or thin fried potatoes, sauce, and again the amazing bread toasted to crispy perfection! The mamey was also delicious, first time trying this drink and it was thick, cool, refreshing, and sweet! a great drink to pair with the sandwiches with papaya and other fruity flavors! definitely recommend this place and will return if i ever come back to miami! read more

I came here expecting an authentic, "the locals eat here" type of experience but was let down. The Cuban sandwich was off - it was weirdly buttery and garlicky with the wrong type of bread, and the flavors weren't remarkable. Good ol' Sarussi's.... I heart this place. I have been coming here ever since I was a little girl. There is something about their Comino (Cumin) sauce that they use that makes their sandwiches unlike any other. A real Miami treat and opened for over 40 years! This isn't the most authentic Cuban sandwich, from what I understand, but it was our favorite during our time in Miami. The garlic butter on top makes it super yummy and appealing. We went around 11:30 AM on our way to the airport and our food was prepared quickly and came out hot and fresh. The empanadas the kids got were tasty as well. Not a bad place to come in for sandwiches. This place is clean including their women bathroom. Very spacious and comfortable, I came in on a Monday around noon and it was not as packed as I thought it would be. The only problem is parking, if you are going to park on the side, make sure you back in instead of pulling forward. Backing out is dangerous because of oncoming cars, plus it's hard to see. I came in for the Cuban original sandwich (Man vs Food) with everything on it. I seriously did not taste the special sauce that everyone was raving about. I guess they put too little on. I also got a side of french fries and the smallest size they got is the size of the basket. The sandwich was very tasty, toasty on top with a brush of either butter or garlic glazed on top of the bread. I got the 8 inch sub which was the smallest, I didn't finish it, had to take the other half home. They have other dishes and subs here as well, I will have to come back for those. Hands down the best Cuban Sandwich in Miami! It's a little pricier than other places, but, you get what you pay for! From the perfect bread, to the sauce that has to have an illicit drug added to it, it is perfect! I always get the original, and love it, so I don't stray from it, but have heard that their others are really good too! I like the 8 inch option which is more promising than the usual half portion found elsewhere and grilled to perfection with loads of customizable fix-ins. One day, I even tried the Caesar salad as a wildcard and I recall tearing it up upon arrival. Authentic Cuban cuisine! We were here years ago and couldn't wait to get back! We started with a tamal appetizer and then shared a 16" original Cuban (they are famous for this sandwich). While we were eating our sandwiches, I noticed one of the staff making a peculiar drink from a fruit or vegetable that I didn't recognize. When I asked her what it was she said it was Guarapo which one translated is sugarcane. One of the best Cuban restaurants I've had, made differently than most other ones in Miami, it has all the same ingredients but they use their own secret mojo sauce which is delicious. This place has been on man vs food, the sandwiches come in giant sizes but mine was regular size I got a small. For dessert I got bunuelos which are fried doughnuts shaped into a long 8 or infinity symbol with a dipping sauce that tastes like straight up simple syrup. It tastes like it's made out of boniato or yucca I think yucca actually, kind of similar to Peruvian picarones. There's also some flavour of anise or fennel seeds very delicious fried and fresh. After lying in bed watching reruns of man vs food, I decided to get up and take a drive to Miami to check this Sarussi place out. I tend to follow Adam Richmond around and have to say he has let me down a few times in the past. Fortunately this time wasn't one of them. Sarussi is known for there secret sauce that they add to a good majority of their sandwiches. I ordered the original which is basically a cuban sandwich with secret sauce instead of mustard and mayo. It was very good, interesting and garlicky. The ham was more deli style instead of the fresh thick cut kind but all and all a good sandwich. If you're in the mood for a new twist on an old favorite I suggest you drop by. I'll probably be back to explore some other menu options. read more

So my friends have been going on and on about the subs from here so one day while driving by we decided to try it. Parking was easy, place is kinda small but service is quick so that's all good to me. So I heard the two best sandwiches are the sarussi pork or the sarussi pollo (chicken). I went with the chicken. Glad I freaking did!!! Its freaking delish!!! Its so flavorful and cheesy and every bite is satisfaction. The chicken is seasoned perfectly the cheese is melted and there not cheap on it either. Been a while we have not participated in this Restaurant. From last time we ate in here, (2010) it have change a lot in taste and portions of their Sandwich. I made the mistake of ordering the Grill Sarussi 8 inch, ($9.49) the meat had to be chew a lot, the Chicken little pieces were dry the Cheese was trying to bring this conception to be eatable but it was a Flop... Wife Churrasco 8" ($8.99) was as bad too, small pieces of Churrasco with a Sauce that was hard to be appreciated. She other some Tostones that came with cold Cuban Mojo for dipping; That is a first on My Book. At least the Tamale that I had was eatable. The Buñuelo ($4.25) was good, so we order one to go.
