Friendly staff but the sandwiches were ok. We used to frequent them when they were in West Hialeah and were soooo good.

Come with me to Sarussi Restaurant in Hialeah. They have been around for 40 years, and once you try one of their sandwiches, you'll know why. I tried their batido de mamey, Yuca Cheese balls, Pan con Lechón, and Flan on this visit. Their Pan con Lechón was terrific. They added pieces of chicharrón to it, which added a little crunch, which is great. The Yuca cheese balls were good, but I would've liked a sauce with them. The batido de mamey and flan were excellent. Overall, Sarussi was excellent. Their service was very kind and quick. I will be back to try some of their other options. read more

This place is a dump. Was in the hialeah area where i grew up & recalled how great the sandwiches were here back in the day. Ordered 2 steak sandwiches To Go. Sat in a stool waiting and suddenly see a roach walk along the counter. The ceiling tiles are stained from water damage. Electrical cords exposed to which Any child can walk up & get shocked. I kept seeing their fritanga wrap on Instagram & wanted to check them out. I've always heard their subs are good, so I went in good faith. As a Nicaraguan, I was a bit disappointed to see they used congris instead of gallo pinto (major difference) & they used sour cream instead of crema. While I don't think it's a fritanga wrap, it's more of a Latin America wrap, it was good. It's very big & still has a lot of flavor. It had a bit too much rice to taste the meat or the cheese but it was good. I'll come back to try more of their classics. read more

Sarussi, excuse me~ Perdóneme While visiting uncle Wallace a stop at Sarrussi is necessario. The parking lot is crunched tight during lunch and expect to wait. Too many lazy drivers who park on or crossing the line grrrr. Food to go can be ordered out the front window or inside. Staff used fresh gloves for prepping sandwich. I prefer no mayo since I'm trying to get by with less fats but still enjoy some of the great tasting sandwich flavors. Beer is just at the gas station a short walk next door. Just wish the bread was soooo toasted, and more of the special sauce.. even though it had a slight different taste this visit.. not sure why. This is my go-to neighborhood sandwich shop. When I want to eat something semi-healthy I go to subway. When I want a yummy sandwich and don't care about calories I go to Sarussi! When we come here we always tend to pick up a couple of their large sandwiches to take home. One of their large 13" sandwiches feeds about three of us at home. Their original which is made on cuban bread, with ham, pork, and swiss cheese, is everyone's go-to sandwich. It's delicious. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I've also tried the churasco sandwich which is very yummy and has a great sauce to it. This one is probably my second favorite sub. I've also tried the chorizo sandwich, which was very tasting but it was super greasy. So I tend to stay away from it even though it tastes great, because I don't need the extra pounds! If you are in a rush I usually call ahead and pick up my sandwich about 10 minutes later. They are also on uber eats so that's very convenient too! read more

I ordered food from here through Postmates. We ordered 2 of their famous sandwiches which we paid extra for their 16" but received two 8". The quality of the sandwiches were not good at all and their pork chucks were so dry and tasteless that our dog didn't eat it either. As for Postmate's credit was only $4.00. They still pocketed $14 plus taxes and fee. I wish I can give them less then a star!!!! read more

Okay, soooo if I had to slap myself in the wrist for this one, I should. It's kind of not a big deal but.... sarussi? Kind of, sorta. I don't even want to talk about anything else they serve but their actual sandwiches that keep me coming back back back. Churrasco AND chicken sandwiches. Their "secret" sauce? I'll spoil it. Pickles. But it's red. And it's delicious. And perfect. Especially if you want carbs. The simple in house bread coated with a layer of garlic butter on top and cheese, julienne fries and choice of meat or chicken in between is perf. Also comes with the choice of tomatoes but I'm allergic so I pass. I call to order before pick up just to grab and go but always have the choice to eat there. They also have a 2-4-1 beer special. Although sadly, I wish it wasn't pricey it's so good I don't mind making a splurge on them when I crave it. I asked my friend to recommend a place I could get an out of this world pan con bistec sandwich from so I was referred to Sarussi Cuban cafeteria. My friend placed the order for me because the lady who answered didn't speak english. I checked in with yelp upon arrival and received a 20% off coupon through the app which was right on time because I didn't know my large sub was going to be $15! I'm glad they honored the yelp check-in coupon! I received the bill before they brought the sub and then I understood why it cost $15. It was the entire loaf of Cuban bread! It was toasted with steak, ham, cheese, potato sticks, tomatoes and marinara like sauce. It was ginormous and they also cut it into small pieces. It was so big that 2 or 3 people could eat off of it. The cafeteria has an outside order window for coffee and bakery items. I happened to pull up right before the parking lot filled up for the shopping center they are in and before a line formed outside their order window. The inside was like a diner that had green bar stools at the counters. There were a few tables and chairs off to wall. Their version of pan con bistec was different from what I'm used to but I was told that it is similar to another popular Cuban sandwich and that at this place they put their own spin on food, also. The subs here are out of this world! Amazing amazing! All of them taste like heaven but my personal favorite is churrasco! Most subs come with a protein, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, mini potato sticks, onion and their home made special sauce. They also make their own bread and spread some sort of garlic butter on it. They offer 8" and 16" which is huge! Some of the proteins they carry is pernil ( pork), tuna, steak, ham/ cheese, chicken, etc. The juices and smoothies are also very fresh. I am writing this review as my stomach is making noises. I went to sleep last night dreaming of Sarussi breakfast, a cuban sandwich in the morning sounded like a great experiance with a cuban coffee on the side. I was robbed of this experiance by negligiance to open at the 7am normal opening time on the side of the restaurant. It is critical to open at the time that is advertised. I would not wait the extra hour they said it would take so i went elsewhere. I am hungry as I write this review maybe next time they will be open but who knows really. read more

This place was a very big disappointment, I grew up living off these sandwiches and the quality of the service/food has dropped, as far as I can say for this location. I called and ordered what I have always ordered and desired for, a famous classic churrasco sandwich. But when I picked up my food and went home and finally got ready to eat, the sandwich was of something else. Displeased and somewhat bother and upset I took the sandwich back to get what I had asked for regardless the confusion, I was looked at as if I disrespected them for kindly letting them know that they got my order wrong, if they can fix it even if the cost was different, for I'm willing to pay it. And they still has the audacity to tell me as if i don't know or if I didn't properly ask for the sandwich and tried telling me and correcting me saying this was my fault that they have to pay for my mistake. It was pure ridiculousness. Probably won't be coming here anymore anytime soon nor will I been recommending this place to anyone. read more

The original minus pork sandwich is delicious. The garlicky smell of it when you being it in the car makes my mouth water. The special sauce in the sandwich gives it a distinct flavor. The croqueta preparada and the chicken one are very good too. Beware of the sizes. Two hungry people or three normal hunger level can eat from the large. Its huge... But Oh so good!!! Went there to get a Cuban...was thoroughly disappointed. It wasn't on Cuban bread, the meat was Oscar Meyer packaged ham and they used mozzarella cheese. It was disgusting. Don't waste your time here, there are plenty of other Cuban restaurants in the area that are far superior. read more

Horrible service and false advertisement. I ordered through Postmates and my order with taxes came out to be $14 which I was fine with. When my order gets completed all the sudden I see a charge of about $25. When I call they said they charge the restaurant price not what's on the app. When I asked to speak to the owner he was never available. My bill almost doubled had I known I would've never ordered from there. The food is not worth the price they are charging. And they are scamming ppl on the app to get them to place the order with false lower prices so they can then charge whatever they want plus charged taxes twice. Biggest drawback, not a visually appealing place and customer service can lack at times. I prefer Sarussi on 8st, it seems that the Cuban sandwich which is there primary dish doesn't have the same amount of ham and pork as the 8th street restaurant. I believe it's the same owners but not sure. The sándwich sauce is the same which is great. Other than that it's a good restaurant the servers are very nice. read more

Hey this has got to be the best Cuban Sandwich I have ever had. It is so big that it will serve two. While I was there, people would order 7-8 at a time. The sandwiches go through a grill much like Quiznos that melts everything. But then when you thought it couldn't get better, they put this secret orange sauce on it that is just out of this world. They serve Philly Cheese Steaks, Chicken Breast Sandwiches, and endless other combinations all made in the same delectable way. It is nothing fancy to look at, but for take out I would recommend it highly. I suggest you call your orders in if you don't want to wait long. They usually have alot of people in line.
