The 5 stars is for the fit and comfort of the shoe brand. The service is ok. The shoes are aprox 100/200 each pair. I've been wearing my sandals for at least 5 years - so that's like $40 a year which isn't bad. They are sooo comfortable. I've climbed mountains in Mexico in these sandals. Over the years I have bought many SAS shoes, however I will never buy shoes from this location. For Christmas my brother bought me a pair of shoes from this location. Unfortunately my brother chose the wrong size. I took the shoes in today and asked if I could do one of two things. Either 1) I wanted an even exchange for the correct size, or 2) I wanted to exchange them for an even more expensive pair, and I would pay the difference. Instead I was told that they could not do anything without a receipt, and even that was an exception to their policy as you are supposed to make all returns/exchanges within two weeks or purchase. As to the two weeks, that is just ridiculous. I do not know how much before Christmas my brother bought the shoes but even if he bought them the day before Christmas, some of us have other things to during the holidays and running back to a store within two weeks, especially that time of year, is just unrealistic. Then there is the no receipt issue. I have never bought an item that was hundreds of dollars (these shoes retail at about $250) where the customer service was so poor that a receipt was required. They could tell these were SAS shoes, they could tell they were new, they could tell they had never been worn, and because they were a gift I never had the receipt. I have worked in retail before, and everywhere I ever worked made it clear, if a customer has a return, don't even ask for the receipt - it is terrible customer service to do so. So now I am left with a brand new pair of shoes, that do not fit me, that I cannot do anything with. Why would I ever return to this location? They clearly do not want my business. read more

I came here with my mom to purchase a pair of shoes for Mother's Day. Considering the price of the shoes ($170) for walking shoes and their stingy return policy, my mom was asking a lot of questions about the fit since she recently had foot problems. The rudeness of the Latina salesperson at the cash register and the older man named Ernie, who looks like the owner, were talking about how she is asking "too many questions." I was appalled at this behavior for them to say this within earshot thinking I would not hear. Totally uncalled for and not professional! If you're going to be a salesperson, your duty is to answer questions, whether you think it is too much or not. Also note that they write out their receipts and calculate the final sales price manually, so please do your due diligence to make sure they're charging sales tax correctly. Fortunately for me, I'm not part of their demographic and WILL NOT be in my golden years. Will be surprised to see how long this company will last in years to come. read more

I tried to always write a good review and give people the benefit of the doubt, but I think I should say what happen yesterday. Over the last 20 years I've gone to SAS to get my mom's shoes, most of the time we get help from a very nice gentleman, very professional with a sweet personality. We go to Burbank cause it's the closes for us, Yesterday there were too ladies a tall thing one and a short medium size . I wish i've gotten their names, my apologies for describing them like this. The tall one helped us with the sale, interesting enough the short one was always behind us, didn't think anything of it until the end, mom tried 2 different styles picked one- she 's happy- the tall lady asked if that was all, then I thought , I'm here it's been a while since I got something for myself and I bought a pair, they didn't have my side, they both go back inside, assuming to look to see if they have it in stock , we are left alone for few minutes , a lot of whispering , they come back and she said ,yes .. we can order them, so they are going to place the order and I paid cash for them, that way I can just go pick them up, She asked me to write my name and phone number in a receipt book, as i'm writing my name and the short lady comes in and said that a pair of shoes is missing. she said there is a empty box .... and the thing that got me was that the lady that was helping me, she came around from the register directly to look at my feet. needles to say lady ('m wearing a pair of MBT $300.00 shoes I used for work, and she says as she is looking at my feet " that's not it" then the short lady says, it's the box for the display shoes you had both shoes on display (instead of one in display and one in the box ) . so She gives me a yellow receipt but i'd doesn't say that i paid , she said I DO NOT GET A RECEIPT BECAUSE I PAID CASH i asked why, she said IF I WOULD'VE PAID WITH A CC SHE COULD PRINT A RECEIPT, so I told her to at least write on the ordering slip that I paid and this is what she did (see photo) and she didn't do it on both slips only on my copy. The soles on one of my walking shoes was coming unglued - the outsole from the midsole. The other shoe was fine. I had these shoes for about a year, they were the 6th pair I purchased from the Burbank store. I took them back asking if they could fix them or if there was some special glue I could buy to fix them myself. There was no one else in the store. I was met with an EXTREMELY RUDE older man at the front counter - a total curmudgeon. He took one look at my shoe and said, "take them to a shoe repair store." He was not willing to do a thing, no partial refund, no other suggestions, no credit for a new pair, nothing. I could have gotten better service from a rock. If you are going to shop there, make sure that guy is not there (he's older, with a grey gotee and blue eyes). The sales ladies have always been very nice and helpful. So my experience here was very unique, and the ladies working there really shined on this one. I was in the area for business and had a lace that was almost worn through on my work shoes. I should have replaced them sooner but kept putting it off. I was headed to this location, stuck in traffic (imagine that), 10 minutes to go, but they closed in 7. I called ahead and the lady told me to come straight in and she's help out. I actually made it right at closing but she was very helpful, I didn't feel rushed at all and they had the placement laces I needed. I know how it feels after a long day and it's time to go, then a customer shows up right at closing. Well I was that guy, as much as I hated it. They took great care of me, got me out the door and had friendly service with a smile. Thanks for the great service. This was my first time visiting SAS Shoes, and I'm really glad I went. I've started having bony protrusions on the sides of my feet near the toes that are called Tailor's bunions. I walk my dogs just about every day and it was starting to be very painful. At SAS I was helped by Amy, who was friendly and helpful. Even when I had already decided to purchase, she went out of her way to be sure to stretch a spot that was still a bit snug so the shoes would fit perfectly. They're not inexpensive, but they seem well made and I'm sure they'll be worth it. I'm happy to say that thanks to SAS, I now have shoes that will make my dog walking and other outings much more comfortable. No doubt I will be a repeat customer. read more

These people are tricking a customer into doing an exchange of a shoe instead of a return, and later bind you into their 15 day return policy from the original purchase of the first shoe. I decided to return my shoes within the acceptable 15 day period. Instead they did an exchange with a completely different shoe. But when I came back 3 days later to return my second pair of shoes, unworn and brand new, still within 15 day period, they told me "Since the original purchase was made beyond 15 days, they can not accept it. I highly recommend this store for comfortable shoes and sandals. I've been back here twice this year, both times my grandma found excellent shoes that have kept her walking much more stable and comfortable than any other shoe. A little on the pricey side, $150+ but worth it for the quality of shoe. Krissy has helped us both times, she's so helpful. Friendly and excellent customer service from all the ladies at this store. We were planning a trip to Italy, but I searched ever shoe shop for comfortable shoes, couldn't find any. I knew I was in trouble because there is a lot of walking in Italy. The last week before our trip, my cousin suggest a shoe store I never heard of, Sas Shoes. I went there and I didn't think the styles were so great, but I tried some on, and to my surprise they were so comfortable, I bought a second pair. I agree with some of the comments, I did have some bad experiences with Sas in Burbank, but I will say their shoes are comfortable. read more

The staff is friendly, the shoes are from the 1980s maybe 70s. You will never find more out of style expensive shoes. You would think since they were made in America they would have some class. They are probably durable but this store in general is for a fading population of seniors. The service is good though, but the shoes are for people way over 60. And probably blind. There is a big sign at the cash register that they do not refund or exchange shoes that have already been worn. I love SAS shoes and the Burbank location is great. There's an older gentleman there that is very nice and helpful every time I've been there. I've bought 4 pairs of SAS shoes over the years and am ready for my 5th pair. I absolutely love the "Relaxed" sandals and I'm ready for my 4th pair. I don't remember exactly when I bought my first pair of sandals but I can't wear any other kind of sandals. I'm 75 years old, I have some problems with my feet and these sandals are a godsend. I walk 3 miles a day in my sandals. They're comfortable, have no sharp seams inside to hurt your feet and have good support. Personally I recommend them to anyone that loves sandals and can't wear the typical ones on the market. They're pricey but worth it to me read more

This store is incredible! I was having foot and leg pain, and had to take a big trip involving walking 10 miles a day. The people in the store helped me pick out a very sturdy sandal and now I have no pain at all, and kept up with all the other people on the trip. The Owner/manager was extremely helpful, and took a long time getting measurements and the perfect fit. This is a great store! I was not treated properly as a customer- A salesperson came up to me we check the box not you and would say to me "you have to buy it before you try it on" and I would say "May I try it on because I want to make sure that it is comfortable for my Achilles which has been bothering me." This place is a total ripoff. The shoe is of good quality so quite pricey. I saw a shoe for my daughter and thought of getting it for her for mother's day. It was $165. I even told Bob (he was the who rioped me off...i mean assisted me) that it was a gift to my daughter for mother's day. I went home snd the shoe was dirty. Like it was used & returned. I went back and asked for another pair. They said it was the last one for that size and also told me it was a display item and they can clean it. $165 dirty shoes they will clean and i will give it as a gift? Are they stupid? So the lady said they can order and will take 7 business days and stressed no saturdays and sundays. I said ok. Do i have a choice and now i have to give my gift after mother's day.
