I don't live in the area, but I will go OUT OF MY WAY to shop here again. David was very busy when I walked in. Regardless, he greeted me as soon as I walked in the door, and remembered our conversation from earlier in the day. He took me straight to the clogs I was looking for, and showed me similiar styles that he anticipated I might like. He then promptly brought me the clogs for me to try on, and kept checking back in with me. He helped me to confirm that I had selected the correct size. His customer service is STELLAR! This level of excellent service can no longer be found ANYWHERE! Not at Nordstrom's, Bloomingdale's, or any other high end boutique or department store. Now let's talk about the store itself. Many brick and mortar stores have closed their doors. Their products are only available online. The brick and mortar stores that still remain open, don't even carry 10% of what's on their website, in the store. No chance to try before you buy, and forget about picking something up at the last minute. Walk This Way is a GEM!! Not only are their doors still open, they actually carry their products IN STORE! And in multiple sizes, colors, etc. Walk This Way is like stepping back in time, when the world was a more kind, gentle place, and when you could actually go in a store, find exactly what you need, and buy it!! I was informed by the Mgr in a rude way that 15 days is their policy for any exchange, credit and refund. Then the cashier suggested I could take back my transaction to Palm desert 2 1/2 hrs away. I had no intention to return the item only a price adjustment. I offered to repurchase the item back at which she refunded me the amount I paid and come back to repurchase it. The biggest selection of clothing is women's, although there is a small children and men's area. The shop is in a lovely former private home which also houses the offices of the Assistance League. There are plenty of housewares and decorative items and I often purchase greeting cards there for 75 cents each. The icing on the cake is that the Assistance League was the first nonprofit, non-sectarian, non partisan organization started in the western United States. The League's origin goes back to the great San Francisco Fire and Earthquake when Anne Banning, a Los Angeles society woman, and some of her friends, assisted victims of the disaster. Years later, in 1919, the first chapter of the league was formed and the work continues today. The money raised by the Assistance League goes right back into the local community and supports the arts for youth, among other things. You can drop your donations off during the hours the shop is open.
