Today I had the worst of many bad experiences at Sasa Nails. I came in with one nail that had recently ripped off, leaving raw pink skin where the nail plate should be. The technician clearly saw this and knew about it, yet she still applied gel polish directly onto the exposed skin and cured it under the lamp. This was extremely painful and felt very unsafe. Nail products are meant to go on the nail plate, not raw skin, and any trained technician should know that. The hygiene practices were questionable. At one point the technician used her own long, overgrown nail to dig underneath my nails while working. That felt unsanitary and unprofessional, especially in an environment that is supposed to follow strict sanitation standards. The constant pressure of upselling and asking for higher tipping made the experience uncomfortable and felt more focused on getting more money than on providing safe service. I left the salon in pain and very concerned about the safety practices here. Applying gel to exposed skin, upselling, and poor hygiene practices are not acceptable. I would strongly caution others before coming here. read more

My niece recommended this place and I was not disappointed. I made an appointment for a Tuesday afternoon and chose a special pedicure which offers a little more than a standard pedi for $8. I felt so taken care of. The gal who did my service was very thorough and responsive to direction. I'd definitely come back. read more

The workers in this place are very rude. They talk about their customers right in their faces. I don't think I will be going back to this place ever again. I did not like the service I received today. I was so sick and tired of the guy who was doing my nails telling me how to hold my hands under the gel dryer. I don't even know why he kept repeating to me three times how to hold my thumbs underneath the dryer. I never had a problem with this place but today was a bit much. I noticed no other workers was telling the customer how to hold their hands or what to do. After I felt like I was being harassed I did not want a massage or a design on my nail at all I just wanted to get out of there and never look back. I am a good customer came on time and had to deal with nonsense from some guy who I did not even want to do my nails in the first place. There are a ton of nail places that would appreciate me paying $30.00 for a gel manicure and I probably would get treated a lot better. Do better Sasa or you will lose your customers. Sasa nails has accepted me at 6:00 PM without hesitation for a gel manicure on two separate occasions now. The staff is polite, friendly, and attentive. My gel manicures sustained weddings, traveling, excessive hand washing at work, and multiple exercise classes with minimal chips after 2.5-3 weeks. Prices are average. Lots of color selections for gel manicures. Definitely recommend! read more

This is my go to place for powder nails. It's a clean and pleasant place to get regular, gel, powder, etc. I like some of the staff and my nails last so I repeat. I've heard that special nail decorations don't last and I agree that the special pedicures are not something I opt for because they are expensive. I used to love the mani pedi combo (good deal) but I can't take advantage of it anymore because of powder hands. read more

I continue to come to Sasa even though I don't live that close. Appointments are now required since Covid and they are open 7 days a week. I usually come more in the spring/summer for pedicures but occasionally get both a gel mani/pedi. I haven't been in since end of summer and the girl in charge remembered me and gave me a pleasant greeting on the phone and upon arrival. I have tried other nail places but I've been here the most and it's where I'm comfortable. They still have a points card, but according to another recent review are not honoring the current check in offer. A few of their services have gone up $2-$3 since last year also. read more

The employees at Sasa are so warm and welcoming. They go the extra mile to remember their clients names and always greet you with a smile and respect. It's always super clean, fast and relaxing. They always listen to your needs and do some of the cutest designs. No soaking nails, no cleaning under the nail beds, sloppy filing. Glob on the nail polish that even after a half hour of drying it smudge. And expensive, 15.00 dollars for a basic 15 minute manicure. I was able to make an appointment an appointment the day prior by phone. The gentleman that did my nails was quiet and polite. My nails looked beautiful after. They do accept credit cards and cash. They did not push back my cuticles or use cuticle remover. The did not clean under my nail beds and I felt like I was begging for them to cut s hangnail and dry skin. LOVE SASA NAILS!! Me and my friend come here from Hamden to get pedicures. One of the draws is the quick shoulder massage when you sit to dry. They are also very friendly and remember us, which is always nice since we do not come that frequently. This last visit we got 10 min chair massage (for $10) and left feeling fantastic. I usually wouldn't take the time to write a review, but I have given this place multiple chances in hopes i'd have a slightly better experience. I have gone in to get an acrylic full set and have had the same nail artist each time. She rushes through my nails, does not pay attention to the shape I am asking for (which is just square), and the paint job is terribly done. The acrylic is laid on thick, and she does not even then out with the tools. The lady that had hers done prior to me looked absolutely beautiful so I was hoping i'd feel the same way about mine, but I was mistaken. These are chunky, and there is still polish surrounding my nails beds. They also did not push back or remove excess cuticles like a standard manicure includes. The nails on each hand also are not evenly filed or shaped. I would not recommend this place for a full set of acrylic nails. read more

Stopped in on the Saturday before Easter Sunday for a polish change mani without an appointment. VERY pleasantly surprised at the friendliness and competence of the staff. I am disappointed by the quality of the service. I was a customer years ago and recently went in to treat myself to a mani for my birthday. I wanted a simple ombre design, (which they didnt know how to do.) I tend to be pretty understanding so i got a basic color gel polish and acrylics . It looked super thick and fake. My cuticles were so visible and looked super dry(which it didn't before.) It cost me $57 without tip just for that. The bittersweet part was that it came out in about a week. Also they have a sign up that says if you review them with 5 stars, they take off a few dollars[which i did to save some $]..but it seems desperate! read more

I had the same guy twice for a pedicure and he was not good at all. He would not try to make my toes look good, he just wanted to finish fast. i am not a picky person when it comes to getting a pedicure but this guy gave me no patience. When I had ask him to correct my toes so they don't look jaggedly cut, he spoke under his breath and groaned as if I was asking him to save the world. my chair was also broken and uncomfortable and I had to sit on a towel. I got a pedicure which looks okay. My gel nails look like I did them myself. What a waste of money and time. I thought about going back but I didn't want to waste more gas and time waiting for a redo. The polish is see through on some nails. Several nails are not filed evenly and the polish doesn't cover my entire nail bed. I should have looked at my nails thoroughly before I left the shop. The technician needs more training with customer service and skill development. She laughed and talked with her co worker often. The neck massage was more of a banging on me than a massage. This place is great! The price is good (they have a coupon in some newspaper), and they really spend time giving you a nice manicure and pedicure. Sometimes they do a wonderful job and other times I feel like it's a paint by numbers and they are having a hard time to painting within the lines. It was a little busy for a Tuesday night and I felt rushed. It was also the first time I was charged an extra fee for taking my shellac polish off. There's usually coupons you can use and a manicure and pedicure is $22 or shellac gel mani for $25. If you use the coupon, it's cash only for the discount. I tried to get a green spa pedicure and a 20 minutes massage to relax, but the guy who was doing my pedicure didn't even put any effort in the massage then when he did my nails which I tried to spoil myself today and I asked for a SNS natural manicure and I wanted a French manicure. Went in for a pedicure recently it was the usual $20 you'd pay anywhere else. They did a pretty good job but I have a few problems. First, the man giving me a pedicure had a bloody nose I noticed luckily he has a face mask on but it was still unsettling.
