She seemed rushed, did not really take the time to listen to me. In addition she seemed totally lacking in compassion & empathy for me as a person who was dealing with repeated severe nosebleeds. I was given a lidocaine soaked compress to numb the area for 10 minutes, then she returned to treat the area (that was raw and irritated) with the silver nitrate stick..she was brutal, and very aggressive with that stick. She went above and beyond the area that was the issue, it hurt me a lot. No apologies for the pain. I was given no written follow up instructions.. and was only told no picking, probing, blowing, irrigating or anything for 3 weeks. The runoff from the silver nitrate on the treated area, ran out of the tip of my nose, which burned the outside tip of my nose and also down my Cupids bow area of my upper lip, and the top portion of my lip all that area was black for days following.
I canceled my follow up visit. I was traumatized by the first visit and procedure and I don't want her touching me again.
The office staff was helpful and very friendly. When I called in to cancel my follow up appointment, they didn't ask if I wanted to reschedule, but they did ask me why I was canceling.. and when I told them the truth, they did not act as if this was a surprise.
Facts that I wish she would've listened to. I have had allergic rhinitis most of my life.. because of allergies the skin in my nose is always irritated, hence these nosebleeds.. the blood vessel that was the issue was very visually obvious in my septum area. I am 70 years old, postmenopausal causing thinner skin, recently diagnosed with high blood pressure. read more
