I've seen Dr. Fishman several times over the past 7 years. He's an ear, nose and throat doctor (much easier to say than otolaryngologist). Make no mistake, if you are after a warm & fuzzy teddy bear experience this is not what you'll get. He is all business and not Mr. Chatty. He gets right to the point and asks the necessary questions and gives you the information you need to know. I find him to be knowledgable and efficient. The staff, in contrast, are warm and congenial - I like them and have never had any issues. Really my only issue is that I think too many patients are booked which causes unavoidable wait time; expect to be seen 30-45 minutes after your actual appointment time. read more

It's not the newest of facilities. The a/c rattles, ceiling panels warp and show some browning with age, dated wall paper peels in places and the restroom is down the hall. But that's not why we're here. We're here to assess the proficiency of one Dr Sidney Fishman, ENT specialist in the Los Al area. Arriving early to complete the paperwork of a new patient, I was soon taken to a back room and seen by a nurse who took vitals and told me the doctor would be right in. He was. And he got right to work, asking the necessary questions to determine cause before grabbing the implements of his trade for a closer physical exam. It was only a matter of minutes before he determined my condition, explained the reasons, described the corrective action plan and emailed my pharmacist for two prescriptions. He said I look good when I smile. I told him he'd be saying something else had he not been as proficient as he was. From paperwork to walking out the door, it took about 20 minutes and that makes it worth a shout-out. Yelpers need to know where the good docs are and I'm going to give it to 'em. Dr Fishman was top-notch and timely, knowledgeable, friendly and no b.s. He is now my go-to guy for Ears, Nose & Throat issues and, since I surf, head & neck injuries. P.S., 10 minutes later, Walgreens was ready with my Rx. Life is good when you have a good doc. read more

I was also referred for an operation that wasn't needed. Dr. Fishman recommended a sinuplasty that he would perform in his office instead of actual sinus surgery. Did a check with insurance, and the sinuplasty would cost $350 MORE than surgery, and would not be able to reach all effected sinus areas. I received a second opinion which the surgeon (after looking at the same CAT scans) said sinuplasty is not a viable option and I required surgery. I used my second surgeon. Now I am receiving bills from Dr. Fishman for procedure he never performed. I have initiated a fraud investigation with my insurance company. I would not go back to this doctor. read more

Dr. Fishman is not warm & fuzzy. He listens, asks questions & makes decisions...something I thought was gone from healthcare. I feel confident that the care I am going to receive will be of the highest quality and that Dr. Fishman will follow-up with me. His staff is friendly & professional. Surprised to see such low ratings on Yelp. Dr Fishman and his staff were super good and professional towards me. I had a bad clogged ear ache and I googled for the nearest best rated ear doctor in which is how I found Dr Fishman. The day I went was just after labor day weekend so it was packed but even though I was scheduled in at last minute, I only had to wait about an hour. I was cured in a week and they also did a thorough check on my hearing when I came back to see them (which was this time not as long as a wait my first time). I would totally recommend him and his staff to my family and friends. Very clean and professional atmosphere which is a plus. read more

Convinces you of surgeries that are not needed, make sure you get a second opinion. My problem was never solved after surgery even though he told me it was. Its my body and I know what goes on inside, he does not. He spent very little time with me especially after the surgery, and when it came to getting my record, he has made it nearly impossible. I have been trying to retrieve them for over a year now and the office has been lacking in making it happen with excuse after excuse. When I requested to speak to the doctor, he refused to speak with me saying it is not his issue or problem to deal with. So if you do not want future problems, stay away from his office, and go to someone who actually cares. read more

I don't like to post "bad reviews" (in fact this is my first) but need to echo; "the worse bedside manner I have ever experienced". I have 40+ years of doctor visits, this was off the scale. I won't go into details, just look at any of the poor reviews, they all echo the same thing. Lessons learned, look up your doctor on Yelp before seeing them. On a good note his staff is very nice and supportive. I see 5 star reviews so it appears there are good and bad days, or am vs. pm visits, not sure, but we won't going back. read more

Service is fine but today I had to wait 20 minutes in the waiting room PLUS 40+ in the holding room. Procedure time: 3 minutes. When he walked in he asked how I was and I bluntly said "Right now, not too good." No apology offered. Not my type of bedside manners. read more

I was referred to him by another Dr, I got no answers from him and all he did was get frustrated when I asked him questions. I think this guy needs to be reminded that we are not trained physicians so having questions is part of the deal. Like I said...go to someone else if you can. read more

I used to come to this office the wait was very long, not friendly staff. The older doctor told me I didn't need surgery he said he stopped doing the type of surgery I needed and we could just monitor symptoms. Once I got a new insurance turned out I did need surgery and now I am doing a lot better. read more

Dr Fishman has always been a great doctor. He is so experienced and goes right to the issue. He quickly identified the problem and orders just the right tests and meds to get you quickly back on your feet. He also helps ensure that surgeries go off without incident by identifying intubation issues that other doctors and anesthesiologist miss. He helped avoid a family recover from a surgical mishap. He is a fantastic doctor with a great staff. read more

I've seen Dr. Fishman twice, both times with excessively long waiting times. The second time I left after 45 minutes with no indication that I was going to be seen anytime soon. I found the receptionist rude and unpleasant. read more

I give Dr. Fishman 5 stars, but his staff I would rate 3 stars. The doctor is competent, efficient, punctual and always answers all my questions. In the past 3 months he has operated on both my son and myself. He is highly recommended. However, his staff with the exception of 2 ladies is sometimes unprofessional and socializes in front of patients. I spoke with one of them to get a prescription for my son and she failed to give the doctor the message. A doctor as good as Dr. Fishman should have more professional staff. read more

Unhappy with this Dr. and office for many reasons. Took a long time to get an appointment for my 6 year old, had my 5 year old and 6 year old with me the day of appointment and had to wait for OVER AN HOUR and then he was only in with us for 5 minutes tops (which was $275.00) and most of that time was spent on the computer with his back towards us. I had heard that he 'was not warm and fuzzy' but wow! Terrible bedside manner. Didn't do an audiology test and wanted my 6 year old to go on 3 medications. Felt like he was in a hurry and just wanted to be done for the day. We will NEVER return to this office or refer here. read more

I was involved in a brutal physical altercation involving myself and several other individuals associated with a gang/hate group. I did my best to fend off my attackers and was quite successful due to my size and quick thinking, however in the altercation I suffered a massive nasal fracture that deformed my nose. I was completely unable to breathe and or smell out of my nose even after the swelling had gone down. After my first appointment with him, x rays revealed I had a deviated septum and multiple fractures to my nose. Dr. Fishman told me in his own words that my nose had not only been broken but crushed like an egg. Dr. Fishman performed surgery on me and I can proudly say that Dr. Fishman did a fantastic job and I am happy with my results. Although my nose will never be the same again, considering what it looked like, I am more than pleased. I still have trouble breathing out of my nose sometimes, especially when i sleep, however this was explained by another physician that internal swelling occurred with my severe injury and this in not correctible. I have a slight bump on the left side of my nose that is not visible and only noticeable by touch, but that is to be expected with any severe nose fracture repair. I highly recommend Dr. Fishman purely because of his work and my expertise. If i could post a photo It would give testament to the fantastic job he did. My nose looked worse than those noses you see on some ufc fighters. If you were to look at me now you would have never known I had a full reconstructive surgery on my nose. In my opinion, I am willing to overlook issues such as wait times or if the A/C rattles (response to other reviews) in order to have the effective use of my nose again. On a side note, having 2 feet of gauze being pulled out of my right nostril and nasal cavity after being in place for 2 weeks was the second most painful experience of my life. Having 6 feet of gauze pulled out of my left nostril was by far the first. read more

I was first referred to Dr. Fishman by Los Al Med Ctr. for an infection, was happy with results, so returned for sleep studies due to ongoing snoring and sleep apnea. Over the course of 3 months, it was determined I had moderate sleep apnea. I did get CPAP machine finally, but it did not fit, I still could not sleep well. Dr. Fishman prescribed 2 medications to help provide temporary relief, but it seems that summer is vacation time for Dr. Fishman, and his office is unable to authorize refills. Having had to deal with the same issue twice, I am now going to find a new office who can complete all phases of treatment. Very frustrating! read more

I am so grateful Dr. Fishman and his awesome staff. From the moment you walk in the door, the office girls are super sweet and caring . They make scheduling easy and are very attentive on the phone. I just saw Dr. Fishman and could not be happier with his kind and caring demeanor. He is really great at what he does. I would recommend him to anyone needing An ENT. I can't say enough good things about his staff. ALL of them are super sweet and caring. The office is really clean and very well organized. I saw some reviews about wait times but I believe it's because Dr. Fishman is so thorough and listens to all concerns. Even with a wait I'd still come here any day of the week. Dr. Fishman has the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. He doesn't listen to what you are telling him nor does he make any effort to find a good solution for your personal issue. He gives you about 5 minutes of his time, most of which is spent sitting at a computer screen with his back toward you. I went in for sinus pressure and pain. He said he did not see sign of infection, but said he could give me an antibiotic if I wanted one. I asked him to check my ears (had to ask). He said they were clear (no infection or redness), but proceeded with a suction machine for about 2 seconds. He said he removed a little wax. I ended up with a bill for $160.00 for the office visit and $70.00 for ear wax removal. I did not have an issue with the $160.00, but how could he bill $70.00 for ear wax removal that took him less than 2 seconds. I could have removed it myself with a Q-tip. When I called his office to dispute the $70.00 charge, I was treated with disrespect. The doctor told his staff he performed the service and the charge would not be removed. I paid the bill since I am an honorable person, however, I will never return to this doctor. It appears his billing for unnecessary procedures is not uncommon based on other reviews. read more
