I was very pleased to attend an art show for my Yelp Friend & Partner in Dine Steph H. this evening and, what a great choice of ambiance by Steph H to do just that! This house turned eclectic mix has all of the chotskies, Olive Oil Vinegar, Teas etc, mixes and then some. Also, many unique, quaint and unusual items for just about everyone and every price range too. There are many things I'd love to have, need, desire and with much will power do without. Usually these '90s type of places have gone by the wayside and have been run out of town by places that have lower prices but, the ambiance matters to me when I'm investigating something special, especially a gift. The owner and her staff provide such wonderful energy and, even though the prices are not something I'm willing to pay I'm sure that there are many consumers who will and enjoy their purchases. Who knows, someday perhaps I just might be one of those individuals. An update that was long overdue! Since my first visit to Sasha's I've been back many times, mostly to pick up gifts for friends but also to have an art show. Yes, Sasha features artwork from local artists among her wealth of fabulous items! Speaking of fabulous, I just love browsing through this store; she always has cool and interesting things at reasonable prices. I've always gotten so many great compliments on the items I've gotten at this store--it's a total local gem. Sasha herself is extremely personable and helpful, great qualities in a shopkeeper. I cant believe I haven't written a review on this place yet! Long over due! Sasha's- living with style is my one stop destination for all my gift and home decor needs!! They have everything from throw pillows, lamps, furniture to locally made art, jewelry, succulent arrangements and soaps!! Located in a cute little bungalow every time I step into the store I feel a sense of warmth and comfort as if it was my own home. The store looks different every time I visit so it's always refreshing to see new items and I always walk away feeling inspired. They also run a interior design firm in the back offices that offer an array of design services for those who are in need of extra help. Sasha is a wonderful young lady who is very talented with home decorating (enlisted her assistance with our remodeled home). very satisfied with the results and the reasonableness of her rates. Her place of business also carries some of the nicest things for gifts especially around the holidays. She is also very familiar with the neighboring businesses. This review is for Sasha's retail space, newly opened in a beautiful house on Broadway (her interior design business is in back). I spent my first few minutes with my hands clapsed behind my back, having mistaken this place for a look-but-don't touch store, having inaccurately assumed that it was all pretty to look at, but that I couldn't afford anything anyway. Oh how I was wrong. Not only does Sasha's have gorgeous, unique, expertly-selected and thoughtfully displayed pieces for the home and kitchen, but the prices are surprisingly low for the quality of the merchandise. Sasha herself was running the store at the moment, and she was friendly, helpful, and warm--she made my partner and me feel welcome to browse her store for as long as we wanted; I knew she would offer guidance if asked, but I didn't feel rushed or watched. The cookies and cider in the kitchen space were nice personal touches to make customers feel at home. I took lots of time looking around--and yes, touching everything. I ended up only buying a few small items on the first pass, but actually came back in the evening to pick up some amber glass tealight holders I had seen on my first trip to the store and couldn't get out of my mind. The employee who helped us on that second round was just as friendly and wonderful--she gave us a good recommendation for dinner, which we happily followed. I have never been so enthralled with a store--I wanted to move in to the house/store, or hang out there all day, or get a job there, or just be friends with Sasha cause she was so nice. Is it worth moving to Long Beach for one home decor store? My partner liked the place so much, she was on board with my new enthusiasm: I insisted that when we buy a house together (ha! with what money?) we're going to hire Sasha to do the interior design. read more

This review is for both Sasha Witte Design and her retail shop. Sasha helped do the color coordinating and window treatments for my new construction. This all started when I told my husband, "I'm not living in that house until we have window coverings." and it turned into a lot more because I needed it and Sasha is so easy to work with. She suggested wall paint, trim, and wood stain colors and helped me pick curtain fabric and hardware for six rooms, and flooring and tile for multiple bathrooms and kitchen. She also picked upholstery fabric to redo my living room and dining room furniture as well as bed skirts, etc. She has sources in the trades to do the work that will whisk away your old stuff and bring back new, or show up with your curtains and install then. I liked how she provided a spec sheet that called out all the colors and brands so the workers knew exactly what to use. I still use that sheet many years later for touch ups, etc. I loved considering the fabric samples with her -- so much fun! It's my impression that she does any size project. I hired her later to choose fabric for shades for my study and she was just as enthusiastic about that small job. She has a lot of intuition about her clients because she seemed to "get me" right away. All in all, I ended up with a very coordinated, "zen" house that I'm very comfortable in. Later, I wandered into her retail shop, mostly to visit with her and walked out with the perfect triptych to hang over my stairwell. I love Sasha's. There are so many gems in this boutique that I HAVE TO HAVE. It's hard to decide. She always carry's art from local artists and has items in my price range (which is not very high) and carry's the really nice high-end stuff I aspire to be able to own someday. My overall experience with the design aspect of the business was not so pleasant. Customer service and communication with pricing and charges was not made clear. I am not afraid to pay for quality services and products but would have appreciated a more professional experience. Sasha is one of those rare people for whom the word "gracious" so aptly applies. She is welcoming to anyone who crosses her threshold. I love the events she hosts. I attended her Evening of Portraits, at which photographers showed and talked about the portraits they had taken.
