    Pumpkin latte...delish!
    Jacqueline B.

This is an adorable local coffee shop in downtown Green Lake that I am proud to support! The decor is super cute. I love that they have coffee bean filled center pieces on the tables. What makes this shop unique are the little personal touches. Not only do they serve your typical coffee menu full of lattes, cappuccino, espresso, etc., but they also have beautiful artwork for sale, delicious flavored popcorn to purchase and freshly baked goodies! I enjoyed a delightful pumpkin latte last time I stopped in; brewed to perfection, topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon - yum! The women who is working every time I'm in here is such a sweetheart (I assume she's the owner). She has a great sense of humor too! My gal pals and I have popped into this cafe more then once to cure a hangover... I mean, uh, lack of sleep and she welcomely humored us :)

Cute place in a delightful town. Decent coffee and pastries with no frills. (Sugar Lips is no longer serving coffee, so this seems to really be the only place to get a cup).

Love this spot! This is my first time to Wisconsin. My family and I came for Airventure at Oshkosh (boyfriend built a plane so he flew it out here from San Jose, CA) and we decided to stay at the Heidel House. Well, of course I'm going to Yelp for restaurants and organic produce, coffee, blah blah that are close by from where we were staying and I immediately saw Sassafras. The reviews were excellent so course I'm going to check it out. This place did not disappoint. First off, the coffee is good. The fact that they also offer almond milk and soy milk in addition to regular milk is a huge plus. Ordered the latte hot one day and the next day, cold. Both times were perfect. Definitely fell in love with the vegan peanut butter cookies. Kudos to the baker! Also tried the pistachio muffins and the chocolate chip and berry muffin. I forget what berry but it doesn't matter, just try it, it's delish. They also had salads which were ready to go and your pick of dressing(Italian, balsamic, ....). The salad was perfect to pack for Oshkosh and the dressings felt like they were homemade. I was nervous coming here I wouldn't have too many choices for organic homemade products but I was wrong and I'm so glad this place exists. Thank you so much. Lastly, on both times I went, 7/27 and 7/28, the girl at the counter was super sweet. She made my experience here even more awesome, such a friendly kind smile. Thank you guys so much!

Just as bad as the first time, with even worse attitudes to me and the two customers behind me, as well! Being open-minded, I decided maybe 3rd time was the charm. Huh. I was wrong : 3 strikes and you're out! Today, after getting coffee , baked goods (try Sassafras' homemade cookies!!!) and pleasant service at my fav coffee place, I couldn't believe what I saw on Subco's window: these people actually posted a tacky, childish, window sign that read: "closed for the winter- enjoy your hot dog, or at least pretend to." What kind of person attacks a fellow business owner so rudely and publicly - especially in a small town!? Well, I thought to myself, with a recommendation like that, I better try that hotdog place! Thanks for that fantastic suggestion guys -- I will be going to Walk The Dog from now on! Being a business owner myself, this is horrible community etiquette from subco. I often bring my employees to GL for a little R & R and will never go to this sub place again. I support small businesses, but not rude small businesses.

Horseradish was bustling at 12:30pm on a Saturday, but wasn't too overly packed when we came in. We were able to find a table for 4 and get our orders in quickly. That being said, it took over an hour of listening to terribly overstimulating music with bad vibes to actually get our food. Our kids were hangry, as were the children at a few other tables as well. I ordered the Vegan Witch (I LOVE kimchi) and my daughter ordered the Gus Special No. 1. We also all ordered various sodas/Olipops. The prices for the sodas were absurd, and the side salad that I ordered with my vegan witch was flavorless. I was kind of shocked at the kids' menu options and expected better ... my daughter of course ate it, as she's 4, and who doesn't love cheese on tortilla chips, but what an odd lunch option. I would have preferred more kid friendly veggie options for the side veggies, as radishes are a bit strange to plate for a child ... my sandwich was good, but just seemed to be lacking something. Staff were incredibly nice, but with how slow service was, I would not recommend going when you're actually hungry. I also don't recommend for kids. It was a fun experience and a nice find for in the middle of nowhere, but I guess I was just hoping for a bit more ... The bathrooms are nice, and my daughter and I loved the banana and lipstick lights on the bathroom walls that were also for sale. Cute place, slow service. I'll probably never be in Green Lake, Wisconsin again, so I can't say whether I'd return or not.
