Great cup of coffee with my sister and husband. Cute historic venue with a lot of character along the stream.

We were drenched and decided that some hot coffee on the way out of town would be just the thing. Aquamos Coffee Collaborative to the rescue! It's in downtown Waupaca, so the parking is basically street or street angled parking. My husband was able to find a spot to sit with the car and camper while I ran in and got our coffee. Since it was lunch time and I noticed what sounded like a pretty stellar breakfast sandwich on their menu, I ordered us a couple of those as well. For our coffee we got the caramel roll latte (caramel-y, ever so slightly cinnamon-y deliciousness). They also have alternative milks, if you so desire. The breakfast sandwich was a sesame bagel with chipotle mayo, egg, bacon, and sharp cheddar--it was super flavorful and absolutely delicious. Oh...and I believe they're dog friendly. We were warmed up by the hot coffee and kickin' eats in no time. Thanks Aquamos! Get to it!

We're anticipating a breakfast menu beyond waffles, I would even be happy with yogurt and granola. The espresso as near as I can tell is a medium roast with great flavors, kind of a nutty finish and just a hint of chocolate. The most predominant flavor is coffee, which is my favorite. Perhaps as the baristas gain experience we will see latte art in a large ceramic latte cup as a lagniappe. The place is perfect, I hope it will be a permanent Waupaca establishment. Good WiFi, except for the day it didn't work.

So wonderful this place exists in little ol' Plainfield! What a gem in an old historic building,…read morecomplete with antiques on display and unique furniture to admire and use. It's got character. It's got a vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. And that's where most of my five star rating comes from. There's lots of tables and even a fireplace which is probably so cozy in the winter months. My hot oat milk sugar free vanilla latte was great, not too sweet. And I was so glad they have gluten free bread so I could get one of their sandwiches. They did say they can't guarantee no cross-contamination, just a heads up. But for me it was ok to take that risk. It was a little disappointing their side of chips was just a bag of Lays, but they did have a few other side options. They've got some really cute clothes to purchase, Christian stuff, and other possibly local goodies to buy. It makes waiting for your food or drink enjoyable, as well as the staff who were all so friendly. They even made my mom a customized drink that she adores the first time she was there. Don't miss this stop if you're passing through or even traveling on I-39 because it's not far off the Plainfield exit!

I was delighted to see that they had latte flights that you could order iced or hot, and I ordered the iced flight. I've had a bunch of latte flights, and this was pleasantly surprised me! My breakfast sandwich with sausage and an English muffin was very solid as well. Starks and Luce would be a great place to spend a few hours playing games on a rainy day, or simply when you need a good coffee fix!

For a latte, we went with two shot 12 oz, with the milk held down about 3/4 inch. The result is a perfect latte. Rich and robust, the flavor of the roast is striking. I'm not sure why anyone would add a flavor to this delicious caffeinated beverage, but then that's just me. I like the old jazz coming from the speakers as opposed to some of the crap thrust upon us at other places.

Staff weren't overly welcoming or chatty--no carried conversation or small talk--but they were polite and friendly enough. If you're looking for warm, high-energy service, this might not be the spot, but if you're okay with a more reserved vibe, it works. There was a bit of a wait for our drinks, which felt a little long considering we were the only customers being helped at the time. That said, the quality of the drinks made up for it. I had the lavender lemonade--super refreshing and light. My partner tried the orange cream chai and really enjoyed the flavor balance. Both drinks were thoughtfully made and tasty. That said, if I were in the area again, there's another local coffee shop I'd likely choose first--it had a more welcoming atmosphere and a similar drink quality. Still, this spot was a pleasant stop with creative options and might be just right for someone seeking a quieter, more laid-back experience.
