(Lynyrd Skynyrd) After we had our hardwood floors and steps sanded and refinished, we decided to pretty up those steps with a carpet runner, which explains why we visited Galaxy Discount Carpet Store today. That decision ended up being a FIVE STAR experience. Their two floor showroom is just incredible! Sample boards, rolls stacked on the floor in rows, area rugs hanging from the ceiling, gorgeous stuff everywhere. We met with Charlie and explained to him what we were looking for. He said that staircase runners can either be pre-manufactured in big rolls, or custom cut from carpeting meant for rooms. We knew we wanted a runner in some shade of gray to complement our wall color, and decided on a carpet runner to be cut from a big grayish roll and then finished with black binding along the edges, to complement the black stair rail and contrast with the white stair risers. It was installed 72 hours later, and that was pretty amazing in it's own right. Communication with Galaxy was great. Charlie was a dream to work with, the installers called us the day before install to confirm the date and time window, and the van with two workers arrived as scheduled mid-afternoon and did a neat professional job on the install. Charlie's price was $140 less than one we had from a flooring company out in our neck of the woods, and the carpet quality was better at Galaxy. Everything went well, and the stairs look great!

The service we received from Janine and Michael was outstanding. Janine was available and responsive for any of my questions. Michael came out to look at the stair noses and took the scrap pieces of carpet and bound them for us. They also upgraded the vent in our flooring to match the new floors. Their customer service was really outmatched- there's a huge value in being able to call or email and get a real person who can help you. I definitely recommend floor decor !

Writing this as a courtesy posting for my mother, who had the absolute worst experience here and…read morewould not recommend it to anyone. She first walked in to Amore Carpet and Flooring on Thursday, October 22nd to request a flooring consultation. When my mother walked in (she is deaf by the way), the salespeople approached her, but continuously ignored her for other patrons. My mother ended up waiting for 45 minutes to be ignored by the salespeople who thought that other hearing clients were more important than her, as she was there well before any of the other patrons (I am appalled by this). She thought it was a fluke (maybe the other patrons had appointments), and made an appointment for Tuesday, October 27th at 11AM. She confirmed with the salespeople that she had the 11AM slot, and was assured that she would be well taken care of. An Amore representative met her at the location she needed flooring to collect measurements. Afterwards, he took her back to the main office (which was very close) to talk about pricing. When they entered the store, the representative left my mother on the side yet again for another client that just walked into the store. May I remind you that my mother had an appointment, and she was being ignored again. The representative continuously got up and attended to other clients, telling my mother 'one second'. My mother got very upset, and mentioned to the representative that this was the second time this was happening, and she had an appointment and should have been the priority of the meeting. To her dismay, the representative got up yet again to attend to another client five minutes later. My mother waited for another 45 minutes, and was never attended to. This shows an absolute disrespect for any clients, especially my mother who is deaf and is a customer that deserves the same amount of attention as any other client. If you are looking for a flooring and carpet company that has any respect for customers with any sort of disability, this is NOT your place. My mother ended up walking out after being ignored on TWO different occasions. DO NOT COME HERE.
