I was in need of a kitchen faucet, not knowing where to go I visited Bender plumbing. What a joke. I entered their showroom and was told by the greeter, that it was going to be quite awhile before I could sit down with an associate. I again, reminded the woman all I want to do is pick out and purchase a faucet. She wouldn't let me do that. Insisting I be helped by salesperson. I left the store very annoyed and found myself at Whites plumbing. A very nice man, Scott helped me. He didn't want to SELL me anything more than what I was there for. The experience at Whites was perfect. I ended up spending a but more, but I didn't care. Scott made my experience a very happy satisfied one. They have what you need and will help you -- much better than competitors!! After my toilet stopped working, a plumber told me to replace it. I checked with all the standard hardware stores (Home Depot, Lowe's) and they didn't even carry a back outlet toilet. I came to White's and not only did they have the toilet, but they educated me about what exactly I needed so I was able to save money by not buying the whole toilet. Saved me time and money! They're smart, fair, and have a tremendous amount of inventory. (They spend their money on personnel and product. So they're not as fancy looking as the big box stores. Went shopping to find items that are needed to remodle our bathroom. We were greeted upon entering and asked if we needed help. Geno helped us find exactly what we needed and gave us great suggestions. Geno is very informative, helpful and knowledgeable. All items we needed were ordered today due to the great sale/discounts. Visited Bender's showroom in New Haven prior to going to White's and was very disappointed in the service. After looking around the showroom we asked for assistance and was told "you can wish for some" but that they were short handed and there was no one to help. Needless to say we left and went to the better of the two businesses. We are looking forward to receiving our order and having our new bathroom completed!! read more

I just called White's Plumbing Supplies to ask a question regarding a freestanding tub drain for a specific bathtub. The saleswoman was quite rude and told me she didn't have a clue and made no effort to help me whatsoever. We had purchased the tub elsewhere, but were in the market for a drain assembly, so while I understand that we did not buy the tub from Whites, they do offer plumbing supplies so I expected at least some civility and assistance. Such a great experience here dealing with Scott. After not being acknowledged at a "closer to home" high end showroom we came here. Scott helped us as soon as we entered. Customer service was great, was no pressure, reviewing all my options including repair. Had chosen faucet in inventory and was able to take home. I had to return parts which they received on January 27, and was told that he would refund my $300 purchase. Here I am in April, still battling for a refund. We bought an expensive pot filler from White's many years ago. Recently it started to drip and was in need of a new stem. So I went online and purchased one which didn't fit our fixture. I decided to go back to White's to see if they could help. The owner Steve was more than happy to oblige. He took his time as we searched for the right one for our fixture which is over 15 years old. Unfortunately I had a home heating emergency & called Whites to see if they a part I needed. I was advised to send pics & a model number, which I did. The rep told me he would call me back, however never did. After several phone calls to try to get an answer ad to whether or not they had the part, I met with a dead end. I built a house a few years ago. I was on a pretty tight budget and so no company was going to get rich off of me. I worked with Geno at White's. He saw my budget and worked with it. He even went into their warehouse stock to find me some hidden bargains, and he looked over one of his competitor's prices and told me I was getting a good deal there. The deliveries from White's arrived when they said they would and everything was in great shape. In my experience, this company has integrity and deals honestly with people. Only call if you want to buy something from White's Plumbing. If you are calling to do business with them, they are very rude and unprofessional. If they don't need you, they will speak rudely and hang up on you as per the man that answered the main line regarding advertising. Very condescending! My concern is that we are remodeling both our kitchen and master bath. My husband is a project manager in construction management for a large commercial firm and wanted to visit there for hardware, sinks and soaker tub over the next couple of weekends. Obviously, no way, as that rude man has stained my brain for white's Plumbing. You don't know who you are hanging up on sometimes. It probably would have lead to so much more if we had found them knowledgable enough. read more

Had a broken faucet in my bathtub from a purchase made six years ago and the water could not be turned off. I called White's and they were a pleasure to deal with. The parts come from England and would have to be special ordered but the gave me they replacement from a fixture that they had on display. They saved the day. read more

Had an unfortunate shopping experience this afternoon, March 17th, at White's. My plumber is installing a Moen pull down kitchen faucet and is replacing my old sprayer with a faucet connected to an under the sink water filtration system. I was hoping to have him go to White's to purchase a faucet for the filtration system that would compliment the Moen pull down unit and asked a female red haired salesperson for guidance in selecting an unit but was treated quite unprofessionally. She asked me if there was sufficient space between the new Moen faucet and the filtration faucet - she said that she didn't think there would be sufficient room. She made an assumption that I was replacing an unit that was installed in a pre-fab sink. She indicated that there were low priced faucets available in the parts department and I should go there. I was confused at being treated this way but another salesperson asked me what kind of sink and faucet I had and I responded that it was an under mounted extra large sink with custom drilled holes in the granite for the old faucet and sprayer. I appreciated that he observed how uncomfortable she mad me feel but I will not have my plumber purchase an unit there. read more

Rude-Not helpful-Do not waste your time going here! My husband and I went to Whites looking for a new double vanity sink for our new bathroom. As we walked in, 2 men who worked there were standing near the door. No one moved or said "Hello" to us. One of the guys, asked what we were looking for, our response was a double vanity sink, the next question was "when do you need it by" we reponded ASAP - this weekend...? Both men laughed at us, and said "no way-not going to happen" at this point my husband ask to see what they had in on the floor. The guy still laughing, showed us to one example.... didn't tell us anytihng about it... We had to pull information out of him, we had to walk out. Customer service is #1 - They didnt' try to help us, they didn't try to help us find what we needed. I gues they don't need my business.i support small businesses, but not this one. I hope whoever reads this, takes from my experience and skips Whites. read more
