Disappointed with my builder gel fill I found this salon on Yelp while looking for a nail salon that does builder gel fills. I looked through their photos and the work appeared to be good, and the reviews were generally positive. I called ahead specifically to confirm that they do builder gel and then booked an appointment for 10 a.m. My pedicure went well and was quick. Unfortunately, my experience with the builder gel fill was very disappointing. I have medium-length natural nails that I've been growing out since April, and I take a lot of pride in taking care of them. Before we started, I specifically told the nail tech that I don't like my nails to be thick because I had previously had that issue at another salon. She did file them down, which I appreciated. However, while she was filing and shaping my nails before applying the color, I noticed that she was over-filing the natural nail around my cuticles. The e-file also seemed difficult for her to control, and the drill bit repeatedly slipped or skidded onto my skin. I felt like the service was rushed and that my natural nails weren't being handled with the care I expected. About a week later, as my nails started growing out, I noticed red, semi-circular marks/grooves near the cuticle area on the majority of my nails. These are commonly referred to as a "ring of fire" and can occur when the natural nail is over-filed or otherwise traumatized. I've attached photos for reference. What bothers me most is that I'm now left with noticeable dents in my natural nails that I'll have to wait to grow out. I'm also concerned about the potential for breakage as the nails continue to grow. I'm very disappointed because I specifically chose this salon after seeing their work on Yelp and calling ahead to make sure they could provide the service I wanted. Unfortunately, the condition of my natural nails afterward was not what I expected or experienced when looking at the salon's photos and reviews. I hope the salon takes this feedback seriously and makes sure their nail techs are using proper e-file technique and taking extra care when working on natural nails. read more

I arrived super excited and left super disappointed because neither of them really took care of me. They spent around 2 minutes with me and passed me off to another person. No one took the time to ask me what I'm thinking for my nails in the beginning and no one took the time to ask me if I'm satisfied in the end. It wasn't even that busy because it was 9AM and there were only two customers (me and another lady). Maybe it was me because there were a lot of staff members who tended to the other lady. I felt like I was pushed off to the side. I felt super uncomfortable to voice my opinion until now because I realize I really did not receive the service requested, the quality of my gel nails is poor, and I did not feel pampered when I should because I spent $140 (mani/pedi +tip). Pedicure on the sign says $35 and when I went to pay they said $50 (I did get French tip, they didn't say how much extra but usually it's not $15 extra and it's done sloppy). I asked for another towel and was ignored. My nails are not filed evenly and it literally looks like I did it myself. Not to mention the nail tech was pretty tough and just pulling me - it was like she was frustrated. Understand they need to tug here and there but this was wildly just off putting. After she was done she didn't even say anything, she just left. That was a first. If hygiene is important to you and a genuine manicure / pedicure experience either care, this is not the place for that. They were nice, but the service, the time it took, the quality of nails, and the lack of transparency both in whether they could actually achieve the nail design I was hoping for and the steep price ($126) that I didn't know would be so much until the very end makes me never want to come here again. I called to make an appointment- when I got there no one saw me for 15 minutes. They didn't tell any walk ins that they were too booked so they ended up doing some walk ins before me- the whole thing for a set of gel x took 2.5 hours! They were all rushing and it seemed like not able to make people feel cared for. I felt anxious wondering when they would get to me or how long until they came back to me serval times. I showed them multiple designs I liked and said whatever they could do well and the fastest works for me, and the first nail tech chose one design that would need an airbrush. The 2nd person who painted my nails did not get anywhere close to the reference photo. They tried but were not transparent about not having the proper equipment to achieve this look. They also were rushing trying to fix the edges and filed my skin which made a cut And after all this it cost $126 and they didn't even put lotion on my hands! Paid for a pedicure over phone as a gift to my sister. Never received any confirmation of receipt. When my sister went to claim a week later she was rudely turned away by "Tom," the man who initially took my call and card number. When I called to correct the situation he was EXTREMELY rude to me and yelled on the phone and insisted I dispute with the Bank instead. Tom additionally would not tell me the owner's name. Turned a birthday gift into a nightmare of terrible customer service. Do not patronize such a rude place. Will take service instead elsewhere. Edit: This is in response to Tom's slanderous reply. Tom was very happy to initially take my money over the phone. My sister complained when she went in she was treated very rudely. Being busy is no excuse for rudeness to a potential customer, least of all to one that has pre-paid. She didn't want to return because she was already treated poorly. When I called Tom was immediately defensive and rude from the jump. One of the most vile things a small business can do is to act like what they deem a small amount of money is "beneath them." And that is exactly what he did. Additionally, he did NOT provide me with any sort of email receipt, nor did he tell me that would be necessary for my sister, those are just lies. I had provided her name and assumed that was enough. Doubling down on his rudeness here only proves that I am glad I cancelled the service through my bank. Additionally, I WOULD like the owner to know about this employee. I can only imagine how disruptive it would have been for his customers to have to listen to someone be so nasty. I doubt this small business will survive with this kind of attitude. read more
