First visit with high hopes based on Yelp reviews. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is clean and I was seen promptly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, my nail tech skipped alcohol before using the drill to remove my gel manicure, causing my nails to burn twice. When I flagged it, she blamed my "thin nails" rather than adjusting her technique. I've been getting gel manicures for over three years, and this is something I've never experienced at other salons. No attention was paid to hangnails or dry skin, and the final result was average at best. Overall not the experience I was hoping for and thus will not be returning. read more

booked an appointment for a mani/pedi after my friend gave them glowing reviews for their gel builder with 3d elements my first time getting Gel builder, and 2 weeks in they are still looking fresh, no chips. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were not able to do 3D designs at this location, only at the other location, so I needed to change my idea at the salon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Went with a purple tone katseye polish. I mentioned I wanted gems on top, but they forgot and did it plain - looks good, but not what I wanted when I walked in. pedicure was relaxing and thought cleaned up my toes for summer with a beautiful OPI color. read more

Finally!! I've found a nail salon in SF that's nearby my house, reasonable priced, and does a fantastic job at nails!! Quynh - this one is for you! Make an appointment with Quynh. She's so lively and takes care of you. She'll make sure that there's so much attention and quality work going into whatever you need done. Plus, she's so friendly. Part of my nail experience was making a friend in Quynh! Location is on a busy street so careful for street parking. I would call ahead and make an appointment. Inside is a small space but plenty of room between each nail station. Looking forward to more nail dates here! read more

I've been to Spectrum a handful of times for gel and I'm so happy with how they turn out every time. My first time going, Nina did my nails and did an excellent job so I go to her every time I go back! I'm really nitpicky about the shape and thickness, usually after going to other nail salons I end up having to fix the shape myself but have never had to so after Nina does my nails which is pretty impressive to me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nina has also been really accommodating when I ask to adjust my shape or color mid-appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm sure that could be annoying to nail techs but she's never made me feel like it is.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I found this place while living in the city, but I now live in east bay and make the trip out since I know it's worth it! read more

Updating my original review. My nails peeled within hrs of getting them done and I was pretty disappointed but a week later they completely redid them at no cost and said to come back anytime it happens no need to contact them, they will always redo if this happens! Great service. read more

I have been here a couple of times now and every service is exceptional. Queen is amazing at removing my gel x and reapplying my nail service. I have been to other nail techs but my nails have never been this healthy and long. There was a brief scrub and hot stone massage as well. They were friendly and efficient and I was in and out in half an hour. read more

Spectrum Nail Design is such a treasure tucked away on Guerrero Street. The space is always spotless, and the women here do amazing work. They ask about my weekend plans, if I'm doing anything special, and make suggestions on what nail color or shape I should choose based on where I'm going and what I'll be wearing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quinn, in particular, has a witty sense of humor. I remember years ago she joked that as long as I admitted I was high maintenance (I couldn't decide on a color), she'd be happy to humor me. My friend and I came into Spectrum Nails for gel manicures and didn't love our time here -- all the workers seem stressed out and impatient during our manicures, and while I understood with it being the end of the day, it wasn't the best experience. My manicurist seemed to be rushing through my manicure so she could finish her day. My friend asked if they could do a flower design on her nails, and they said yes, but then didn't do a great job and the nails were not close to the picture she showed. I don't think I'd come here again. read more

The quality of work on my nail was excellent. Everything appeared clean. But my nail tech had lost a nail and didn't wear a glove over the bandaid, and they had at least one other small cut on their hands that I could see. I wish they had worn gloves--then I would have felt much more comfortable and safe. I will not return here. read more

I am new to San Francisco and so happy I have discovered this place. I have been back several times due to their meticulous work. My nails consistently last at least 2 weeks without lifting. Prices are reasonable & consistent with other prices in the area, but you get more for your money including a vigorous massage, hot towel, hot stone and lotion with oil. They also have a wide selection of gel polish including glitter, OPI, Gelish & more. Everything is clean and sanitary! Give them a try. read more

If you're anything like me, you've been to a million nail salons all over the Bay Area. But Quinn at Spectrum Nails has made me a regular! She is an amazing nail artist and helped my nails grow so long to the point where everyone thinks they're acrylics! Everyone else who works there is also so kind and welcoming. I'm loyal to Spectrum! They are so accommodating with appointments at both locations. I'm a regular at their California Street location in the Richmond district, but decided to come here for the first time since it's closer to work. Honestly, Quynh never misses a beat. I appreciate consistency, and my nails always stay on with no chips for as long as three-four weeks! Quynh is truly like an older sister to me, and treats you like family when you walk in. I feel like I can really relax and enjoy getting my nails done when I'm here because of how hospitable and homie it feels here. They've got other options (gel-x and soft gel) too! This place is great! I came here for a pedicure with a friend who got a pedicure and gel manicure. Everything turned out perfectly. They were also really accommodating with our appointment time because we were supposed to be there at 1pm, but called at 12pm to get our appointment pushed back by 30 minutes. Another thing that I like about the staff here is that they are so helpful when it comes to picking a color! I had a few different colors picked out for my pedicure and based on my polish on my hands, they helped me pick the perfect color for my toes. My friend also had a certain pearl white gel picked out for her manicure, and they suggested a slightly different one that turned out to be gorgeous! I would definitely come back to Spectrum the next time I'm in SF. P.S. My picture shows the current price board. They are very affordable! read more

I have never had a worse manicure experience in my life. The technician worked on my nails so quickly, didn't answer my questions, didn't cut my cuticles, didn't properly file the nails she applied, making it extremely difficult for me to use them. Even though I told her, she didn't cut my cuticles, so now I have to go somewhere else to have them removed and redone. Because my nails just don't look like o just haf mani! I will never come back and I would not recommend it to anyone. Waste of money and time! read more

Decided to try this place out for the first time. Booked a deluxe pedicure for $70 and it was truly 90 minutes long. The massage was LONG and THOROUGH. Quiet and peaceful ambiance. My nail tech was such a nice lady and didn't get annoyed when I wanted to try out a bunch of colors. The deluxe pedi is definitely a steal so tip heavy! read more

I've been coming to Spectrum Since the start of the holiday season. It's a small, clean space and everyone I've worked with has been super friendly. They do an amazing job each time! I always get compliments and felt the need to share how great this space is. The price point is very fair and the experience is great. I highly recommend! I love this nail salon! I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure for $60 (without tip). Thats an amazing price for the city! In fact, when I was getting my pedicure I noticed they used an exfoliating scrub of some sort and I thought I accidentally requested a fancier pedicure service, but nope, it's just part of the basic pedi. The pedicure included some massage with hot stones and they ended it with hot towels, it was really relaxing. They also redid their seats and they are more spacious and comfy. Definitely recommend this place! read more

I booked on their website and did not pick a specific esthie but just said "anyone." Mostly everything is done online (forms). For the new client special you have to upload a picture of your photo ID into their system. I wasn't too thrilled about this as I don't like the thought of my ID being in their database. Cyber related incidents are on the rise now a days. I had my sensitive info stolen from my old CPA and fraudulent tax returns filed under my SSN before so no type of business is safe. A day before my appointment I got a text from one of their workers basically telling me that I hadn't confirmed my appointment and to do it before EOD otherwise my appointment would be cancelled. The text was sent with a bad tone. Kind of like, "you better do this or else" type of tone. I frequent several establishments that are appointment based and only one other place has told me if I didn't confirm the day before that my appointment would be cancelled but they warned me of this policy ahead of time so I already had a heads up. On the day of the appointment I got another text from someone there reminding me to do my forms before coming in. They really love reminding people through text over here. They also send you a text about 15 mins prior to your appointment to check in and then another text with the door code to let yourself in to the waiting room. They have drinks and snacks there for you while you wait which is a nice touch. Artrecia was my esthie and from the moment she called me back she had a very off putting attitude. I don't know if she was just having a bad day but it for sure seemed like she hated her job. Conversation with her during the service was minimal. I felt like I was doing all the talking and just getting short answers from her. It really was the opposite of what some people said about her personality in other reviews on here. Artrecia waxed me pretty quick which doesn't necessarily mean that she did a good job. I was actually expecting that she did a mid job based on her attitude alone and I wasn't wrong. My boyfriend later on examined my brazilian and pointed out at least 7 patches that Artrecia missed. Some were on the front part so it's crazy how she missed those. She didn't go in with tweezers or do clean up strips afterwards to get the spots she missed. Nevertheless, I still tipped her $10 which I feel like she didn't even deserve for the mid brazilian she did on me. Now I'm wondering if I'll ever come back. One thing is for sure, if I ever do, I won't be going back to Artrecia.

I had to pivot from my original design but she was really skilled and I honestly let her have full reign of the new design, but they turned out beautiful. She put a ton of detail into making sure my nails were perfect to the very last minute. FYI a gel manicure with design and gems/pearls (self provided) was $65 pre tip, which is more than they list on the site. They prefer cash but venmo is also accepted. Very peaceful vibe inside, with a restroom and water provided. They don't rush you at all which is nice :)

This nail salon may not be as flashy as other spa-like salons but the women who work here are pleasant, professional, and kind. I came in for a gel mani-pedi and both the women who tended to my hands and feet did a fantastic job. The massage / therapeutic aspects of the treatments were soothing, and I enjoyed the massage chair as well. The only downside of the experience were some loudly chatty girls who were talking about inappropriate topics in front of strangers, but when I politely asked them to keep it down they obliged.I am hoping that the gel Mani-Pedi survives the playa, or at least helps my hands and feet stay in good shape. read more
