I want to start off by saying, I never write reviews, let alone bad ones. I'm generally not a picky…read moreperson, but everyone I've talked to has told me I need to write a review about my experience. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I started my appointment fine, I was prepped by one tech Lynn, who after I showed my inspo pic, she switched me to Mai. Concerned, I specifically asked Mai when I showed her my inspo picture if it was too hard to do and I would pick something simpler, and she ASSURED me it was fine. The reason I asked was because I had an event to go to and knew a bunch of people were going to be looking at my nails, so I didn't want to risk them turning out bad. First, I asked for Gel X which should be easier to do than acrylic or dip. Right? Wrong. Mai used a gritty primer before adding color to my extensions that make my nails so bumpy. She literally mentioned how it looked weird and retried to apply multiple times and it still looked bad and she just kept going. Then she applied nude for 6 of my French nails that were so patchy because she didn't do enough layers. Then for the actual design. She verbally stated to Lynn that she didn't know how she was gonna do it but that she would try. Not comforting to hear... For the design the first red flag was that she used a hot ass pink color for the base lines, keep in mind the design is bright red. She assures me that she's gonna add red and does the lightest streakiest red ever! At this point she starts to put top coat on and I speak up about how the design looks-- she's missing vertical lines in the gingham, the lines she does have are they're too spaced out so the white spaces look rectangular not square, the lines look messy uneven and didn't go all the way to the inside of my French nails, I truly hated them and I told her so nicely "I'm so sorry but I do not like them, is there any way we can just do French instead at this point? and she blew up on me! She started getting hostile and saying that my inspo picture was messy and she just copied the messiness of the picture, that "no one can do it completely 100% like the photo", and kept pushing me to answer what was wrong with the nails and I told her everything and she said she would fix them but at this point I just wanted something simpler. I asked again can she even just cover them with a solid color and she refused, and we literally sat in silence until I agreed to let her "fix" them. I had to instruct her on exactly what to fix and everytime I would ask for something she'd say "I'm not done yet!". She kept arguing with me that there were not vertical lines on the sides on the nails only one in the middle like what? It's a gingham pattern... and yes it is in the picture, when I point out that she's wrong and just missed that there were extra lines she completely dismissed me. I literally almost never speak up at nail salons and this was just such a bad experience and I hated my nails so much that it took all the courage I had to speak up for myself so I wouldn't have to leave with nails I hated and she legit pressured me into keeping them. Not only that but she tried to gaslight me the whole time into saying her poor quality was MY fault. She said it's because I have bigger nails and that I chose a different shape than the inspo picture... um what??? She just kept saying that I needed to pay her for her time that's why she wouldn't change the design but 1. I never said that I wouldn't pay her, I definitely would've she just didn't want to keep working on them because she was lazy. 2. she promised me something and did not deliver, at all. AND in the beginning she said she would test doing the design on 1-2 nails then ask me how I liked it and that NEVER happened. Matter of fact she not once checked in on me to see if I liked them or explained her plan so I just trusted her and the process. Big mistake. I cannot tell you how frustrating, embarrassing, and upsetting this was. The way Mai handled the situation was beyond rude and unprofessional. If you want cute designs DO NOT COME HERE, or rather DO NOT GO TO MAI. I specifically picked this placed because I saw photos of cute designs and thought they were capable and maybe some of the techs are but my experience was so horrible I will never be back. Everyone I have shown has told me they can tell that it's bad and i cried several times about it. DO NOT GO HERE. Save your time, money and mental well being by just getting gel x press ons and doing your nails at home by yourself. See inspo pic attached versus what I got and keep in mind that what I got is not even bad as what she originally did. I had to literally tell her what to do to somewhat make them look decent. Yeah it might look alright if you're 500 feet away and squint your eyes. But the quality is truly horrifying upclose. 0/10 would never recommend and honestly this is my last time going to a random fucking salon.

The next day one of the nails peeled off, while I was folding clothes. I went back and Jenny told me in a very bad tone what did I do that never happened to her before. Instead of apologizing and say she will fix it. Like I wanted to waste my time going back. But she fixed it. 3 days later 2 more nails peeled and 2 toe nails peeled. And my big toe is infected from her digging hard on the side. Needless to say. No I do not recommend this place. And no I will never go back there. I wasted my time and my money. Those good reviews are probably from their own employees.

I was temperature checked by a gentleman who was my nail tech. I came for dip on my hands only. The issues i had with the place were because i chose a specific color that i already painted my toes with, was able to find the exact color however, when he brought out the dip powder it was not the same color. I needed a dark cool beige color and what he brought out was a very light Nude skin tone. It looked pink from the bottle. I went to ask him 2 times "is that the same color i chose?" And he had headphones on and couldn't hear me. I needed to motion a third time to grab his attention and he said yes it was, made sure the number was the same, but again, it was NOT the same color. He didn't want to admit it wasn't the same color and grab another one. I wanted to keep my nails as long as possible but they came out like short chunky squares. I'm not totally upset at that but he filed down so much growth ive been waiting for the past weeks. You could see maybe 3-4 mms of nail if you turned my hand and now there is no nail showing. Dip came out bumpy and not square or rectangle. Looks very uneven. Lastly, this service came out to $42, with an addition 18% tip of $8.00 i gave. So $50 in total for a dip manicure. I think it is pretty overpriced considering I've had acrylics and dip with all tips for $40 at other nail salons. I don't think I'll come back here, it was just OK.

My normal one had a back up and I thought I would give them another try. This one is located close to my home in a Publix shopping. They have many people working here who do a great job. I had stopped going here because I felt the care they were taking in doing my nails could have been better. They were rushing the procedures and my nails were chipping by the next day. I had an eyebrow wax and she ripped off half of my brow. I also didn't like when they were crowded and they would tell you the wait was 5 minutes and it was really 25. So I stopped going. I have to say I have seen a vest improvement in just the one visit. It looked like they had a few new staffers and all the equipment had been replaced with new tables and pedicure seats. The salon itself looked cleaner. I will be giving them another try.
