Long story short the screws to my visor came out. Walked in, greeted by Jay and another employee. Two very happy people. Nothing but good energy. Jay assisted me in buying a helmet. He asked what I was looking for. I gave him my pointers. He went about his business, soon as I made eye contact with him anytime he would answer my questions right away. He let me try on helmets no problem. If I was deciding between 2 he gave me pros and cons about each one. Then when I went back to being lost on which one to buy he wouldn't hover over me which I liked. I like having space to think when making a larger purchase. Ended up coming to a decision quick because of his help. I also bought a Cardo headset for my helmet. He uninstalled my old headset off my old helmet so I can sell it to someone else then proceeded to install the new cardo on my new helmet. Nothing but great vibes from Jay and an amazing help today. Walked out happy. He even helped me connect my phone before leaving just to make sure I was good to go. I definitely recommend getting help from Jay on helmets if your looking to buy. Just my opinion from experience. I will be returning to buy a jacket soon.

Then got more condescending and obnoxious from there. I told him the features I wanted and he said that's it like it wasn't enough information. Then when I asked where the lever was for the visor he said it's on the left. Because when you ride a motorcycle you don't want to take you hand off the throttle like I never rode one. This was after I told him I had a HJC IS max which has the lever in the middle on top. When he handed me the box with my new 600$ helmet I said I wanted to try it on before I left. He got annoyed and said it's the same helmet you just tried on. This is after a whole 7 minutes of his time. I tried 2 helmets and said I'll take that one there was no one in the store so I don't know what his hurry was. Ive heard good things about this store which is why I went but I won't go back. I can spend less money and get insulted and abused. So after riding with the helmet for a week I realize I should have gotten the medium not the large that he insisted on. He never measured or looked at it in my head. He just said how does it feel. It says helmet experts on the sign. I would definitely disagree with that.

HD will not even change the oil on any bike that is 10 years old or older, because they do not have the expertise in their shops. Forget about the HD price. I have used several "mechanics" in central and north Jersey and mostly walked away upset for various reasons. I have over 35000 miles on the original engine and transmission. I don't know how many miles will end up on this bike, but I will never sell it while I am still riding. When the 20K mile inspection was due, there were three recommendations, 1) replace the original tensioners, 2) upgrade to hydraulic, 3) upgrade to gear drive after taking runouts. Pricing was reasonable so I chose option 3 with an upgrade to racing cams. They also put 2 new tires on. This basically transformed my 88 from a tired (ready to be replaced) old man Harley to a bike that carries two at highway speeds with plenty of power to maneuver. I recommend this shop. Planning is the key to success. Call and make an appointment. They may cost a little more, they may take a little longer but I guarantee the HD dealer won't even talk to you unless you purchase a new bike. Take your hard earned money; find a comfortable, reliable ride and commit to having these guys wrench. When my 05 stops I am probably done riding but may consider keeping it in the garage to remember countless trips. Florida Keys, Laconia, and Sturgis are all on the calendar for 25. Did the Homecoming last year and Laconia. Stop whining about a few bucks. Get your face in the wind and see how lucky we are to have your freedom to see this great country. Peace, out. DC

The bike shop is under an auto shop/state inspection garage (you can get your state inspection sticker added to service appt) on the corner of Washington & Warburton. About as easy as the Manhattan-Brooklyn ride with little traffic and a much nicer ride along the river. John was responsive on email and got me estimates within a day. Got new tires, fork seals, oil and brake fluid, chain and sprockets. Asked about major bearing clean/lube (headstock, swingarm, hubs) but John put the bike up and reported no play, noise or stiction. On the other hand although my tires had some tread left he caught some early warnings of dry rot. State inspection sticker was added on. Rates are fair, parts and tires shipped overnight and he stuck to the schedule and estimate. CC payment easy through a link in the estimate email. Seems to know Triumphs well, saw Japanese and Euro bikes in the shop. Happy with the service and quality of work at CycleLove.

Small shop that's big on communication and transparency. John is a super chill mechanic who is responsive, honest and efficient. John's mellowed out demeanor makes it stress-free ... a real testament to the art and zen of motorcycle maintenance. Will be back for sure.

I saw the BELOW COMMENT by the purported owner William posted Mar 10, 2025 .It caught my attention…read moreas Bill's picture is shown as the Owner's response, inferring that he is onsite. To my knowledge ,Bill retired and stepped away from GT automotive at least 6 years ago. I've been there a few times after Bill stepped away and more times prior to Bill retiring. Perhaps he is still the owner on paper, none of my business. I believed that the new owners were, Julie and her husband. I did not go to GT to make friends, but high quality work. However, Julie is rough, arrogant and lacks any semblance of HUMILITY and appreciation of customers. I stopped going to GT as the front desk woman "Julie" was consistently rude and dismissive. GT does great work, however, Julie was a terrible "Know It All" . ************* July 17, 2026- UPDATE - Responding to the "Owners" response to my post of July 4, 2026.... As to my standards and expectations, Customer Service is not limited mechanical work, it also includes respect, kindness, being treated with dignity. IMO, the "Owners" response to my comment reflects an unwillingness to accept constructive feedback, the need and desire to try to insult, rather than embrace, hence, reflecting a lack of humility, or ownership, full stop. In possessing a civil litigation background, I ask questions, not intended to put one on the defensive, as it may. Julie's husband (a seasoned mechanic) is kind. I just could not tolerate Julie, who works the front desk, and for the most part answers the phone calls as well. She displayed impatience with my questions. She is the conduit to the mechanics. In any business, the front desk gives the best impression on the appreciation of customers or lack of. Julie should be grateful and thankful that GT Automotive is doing well. This is demonstrated in having a high bar on respect and kindness to all customers. My comment should not be misconstrued as a vendetta as alleged, nor do I consider my comment a "bad review" as further alleged. It is intended to provide an opportunity for Julie to receive and accept the feedback in that this is how she may come across to some. Yelp Guidelines is to rate the "Overall" Experience. It is my first hand experience. Unequivocally, I am not a mechanic, nor is Julie. I had not dealt with Bill on my few last visits, as he'd long ago retired, at least 5 -6 years ago. Once again, GT DOES GREAT WORK. ********************* Business owner information William G. Business Owner Mar 10, 2025
