I've been using Satellite Motors to service my Mom's '05 Toyota Camry for over 5 years, and their service has been absolutely stellar. Up till now I probably never really reflected on how much stress they've saved me. You see i'm in NYC, and my mom lives in DC. It was imperative for me to find a mechanic that I can trust with my Mom's life - yes, mechanics effectively have that level of responsibility. Having Satellite has been so refreshing, I often called my Mom, Maria Andretti, because it seems she's always zipping off somewhere when I call to chat. The 11-yr old Camry is still humming. Put it this way, my Mom looks forward to going there. I must admit having that super intelligent young lady with her warm and accommodating attitude is probably 75% of Satellite's success. This is the only place I will ever take my car. Since the warranty has expired on the car, I still want to be able to drive it for a long time. This place is my family's repair shop. I have know this team for a long time and always give me the fullest service. I am always confident that when I take it there, they diagnose the problem well, fix it well. No back stabbing, no non sense. Prices are reasonable for the amount of service they give you. It is very difficult to say that about a garage but I am saying it! They keep the maintenance plan database well, they give you more information that just what you ask. Recommendation for regular service on target. This is an establishment who is not in it just for the money and I can rely on fully on the work accomplished. It is difficult to say that about a business in 2016. I've been a on & off customer of Satellite Motors for about 2 decades. Why? Because they care about taking care of your car(s). In my case, it is a Mazda for brake jobs, oil changes, ignition system work etc. Mileage is: 246,000 miles and going strong. The other current car is my personal Mercedes ML430. Too many good things they've done to keep me on the road. When they say that a vehicle's fluids is the vehicles blood, and should be changed on schedule, I keep the cars' blood clean. It's just easier to drop the car off for the routine stuff and I don't have the issues most other people have. I found Satellite Motors through Washington Consumer Checkbook back in the mid 1990s when I first moved to DC. From then on, I was hooked. I bought only Toyotas for years so they could still be my mechanics. I trust them implicitly -- they are knowledgable, professional, kind, honest and fair. They held my hand when it was time to send my 1984 Tercel to pastures over yonder. And they serviced my 1990 Toyota Camrys (I had two, one right after another). There are two reasons Satellite Motor is no longer my go-to garage: (a) I no longer own a car and (b) I live overseas. If only one of those things were true, they'd still be my mechanic. If you have a Toyota, run do not walk to Satellite. If you do not have a Toyota, sell your car and get one. And go see Satellite. THE BEST! read more

This is the second review I'm writing of Satellite Motors in the last couple of months. I'm writing again because I just took our 2009 Prius and 2000 Land Cruiser here for preventive maintenance and couldn't be more pleased at the result. We've owned our Prius for 4 years and the Land Cruiser for 7 years. Both vehicles now are running more smoothly and securely than at any time since we bought them. Moe, the owner of Satellite Motors, is a man who listens, tells the truth and does the right things the right way. What more can anyone ask? I'm sitting in the waiting area to get a mail plugged on my tire when I saw the small yelp sticker and decided to wrote about my history with this small shoo in an alley I'm on my third car over the past 10 plus years coming here ...there is not much to say but THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF, fair rates for the great work they do etc... I'm driving a 2012 that I use for work that has over 150k miles ...I bought new and bring it in every 2 months I have never been stranded on the road and they always try to cacomistle me ...if half of the other bossiness I frequent we're like this it would have made life much easier YES I would defiantly recommend satellite to others, just ask for Nah-Lin or Moe read more

For years we used other establishments but have used Satellite Motors in the last couple for a variety of reasons. There's the quality of the work and the speed with which they get the vehicle back to us. And we don't perform a repair and then four months later something else major goes wrong. Most important is the honesty they have in pointing out what we can live with. They will see problems but then say it is not a safety issue and you can still operate your car. They were also the first shop to tell me that the vehicle we got used had actually been wrecked before. Multiple mechanics had seen the car over the years and never mentioned that, or the shoddy repair work that resulted. read more

We've been bringing our 2001 Sienna van to these guys/gals and it's still going strong in 2018 thanks to excellent care and service. I trust Satellite Motors -- Mo and Nalin! The tire/alignment place didn't know how to do the alignment and complained the car was too old; even though SM had not previously done that work, they did it. They taught me a lot about the car that helped me keep it in good shape. 10/11/14 When it comes to my Toyota maintenance, I don't want any one touching my car except the professional men and women at Satellite Motors of Silver Spring. I have been going there for almost a litter over ten years now. Usually my visit is as my first visit. Satellite - greatest. car. shop. ever! They've been taking care of my cars for about 20 years now, an 81 Toyota Tercel and now my 96 Toyota Tercel. I always tell them I will never own any car other than a Toyota because I'm never going to a different shop. I started going there when my mechanic (now retired!) took a job there, but - why did/do I stay? Moe and the team at Sattellite have been taking care of our Toyota Sienna since we first purchased it. They were the primary service shop for the Sienna we had before that. I've been a customer at Satellite for maybe 20 years. My original Toyota mechanic was closing up and recommended Satellite. What a great recommendation that turned out to be! They are honest, loyal, very competent, and just all-around good people. A couple of times I have taken my car to the dealership for repairs and regretted it for the obvious reasons -- the dealer overcharges and doesn't do as good a job. Recently I have switched from Toyota to Honda; fortunately Satellite has expanded and now services most Asian imports. We have been going to Satellite Motors for close to 30 years, for routine maintenance and repairs for a Toyota Corolla (which they kept running for 24 years), and now a Prius and Honda Fit. We have received outstanding mechanical and customer service every time. They have diagnosed problems and been on the lookout for developing issues, before they get out of hand. They fix only what must be repaired and keep you apprised of scheduled maintenance needs and the condition of critical items like belts, tires and brakes. Importantly, they do the job right the first time at a reasonable price. The staff listens to your concerns and answers your questions. I just completed a 90,000 mile service on my Toyota Highlander. No problems, completed on time, and was easily scheduled. I think one of the main reasons there were no problems was that my Highlander was routinely serviced at Satellite. That take care of everything, small details through major items. When Moe tells me I need something done, I know I really need something done. In 20 years and with 6 Toyotas maintained here, I keep coming back because they are really good and it's worth it. Very good customer service and an ideal place to take your Lexus/Toyota vehicle for services, and maintenance repairs. -I personally have a Honda and usually go there to do my oil changes, and other minor services. They are very fast and diligent when they are working. The mechanic I usually deal with, and am dealing with now knows his stuff. All the staff in that building are always constantly working, and are doing what they do best! The location there is not far from home, so in fact i also like it because it is near my area. read more
