As a woman bringing my car in for repairs is right up there with sticking a pencil in my eye. I will admit I know little about cars and never know if garage mechanics are going to treat me like an idiot or worse still, gouge me for unnecessary repairs. Thought I was having a transmission problem which turned out not to be the case (long story) so I stopped in one aftersoon with no appointment (my dealer wanted me to make an appointment for 10 days later) and taken promptly. The guys checked out my transmision, changed my oil and transmission fluid and put on new windshield wipers for what I thought was a very reasonable price. My only complaint is that they are so busy because everyone else wants to bring their car here. They really listen to your priorities and parameters for repairs, and then work with you to find the best solution. I had an extended back and forth with my insurance company recently after my car was scraped in a hit-and-run, and the Kensington Auto team was patient and flexible as we explored multiple options for fixing the damage. Absolutely the best customer service in auto maintenance I have ever had the pleasure to experience! Called in the morning for a quote on an oil change, tire rotation and balance and they provided a great price that was cheaper than most in the area. Was able to take me that same day and gave me thorough updates and information about my vehicle while being serviced. Performed an inspection and gave me all the information I needed to understand how my car was doing and if it needed any additional services. Free and good wifi, so I was able to work while I waited. The two gentlemen there today also organically built rapport with me and were super nice, helpful, and personable. All the mechanics are wonderful. They take great care of my regular maintenance but also have been able to help each time my car has an issue. Today I stopped by with no appointment as they opened after the air machine didn't work at a gas station. Mike without hesitation helped me discovering I had a screw in my tire. Best auto shop around. Honest mechanics who fix things right the first time for a fair price. They will let you know what really needs to be fixed right away and what can wait a while. If there is more than one possible way to fix something they will give you the options and the pros and cons of each way. I took my Nissan Leaf to repair a noise in a front wheel. They replaced the control arms on both sides. When I went to pick it up, there was an old bearing in the pan under the engine. There was also a scraping noise, so I brought it back in. They took a big screw driver and tried to bend the shield near that wheel. The noise remained. I finally decided to look into it so I started to remove the wheel and discovered there were only two nuts of the five on the wheel. This is outrageous to not at least not tighten the wheel nuts after replacing the control arm and after bringing the car back in with a noise complaint. read more

I've taken my cars to Kensington Auto for over 25 years and couldn't ask for a better place to go. Prices are as fair as they can be, and repairs are always done right. Mike does his best to recommend the best option for expensive parts (name brand vs after market), but the choice is always yours. They do a great job explaining problems and they're always friendly. And they give a "heads up" about repairs that will be needed in the future. If I had to choose two words to describe them, they would be HONEST and EXCELLENT. Oh, and they also do great body repair work! My current car is a testament to that. I'd like to say I'll continue going to them, but I just moved to the Midwest and must find someone new. This is by far the best auto shop my family and I have used. We have been coming here for years. Among many other things, I've had my oil changed, tie rod fixed, brake pads replaced and tires mounted here. I've also had my jammed back door fixed here, which they did a superb job with. The mechanics are amazing in both their work and their customer service. This is a place of integrity and they don't attempt to persuade you into getting unnecessary work done on your car. I took my car to the dealer because of a recall and the dealer gave me a long list of expensive repairs needed.
