I'm in a food coma right now. My friend picked this restaurant to meet with me and my bf from the reviews and it did not disappoint. It has an extensive menu from udon, ramen, poke to sushi rolls, tempura and fried rice. We ordered the agedashi tofu, mixed tempura, beef teriyaki bowl (for my friend), poke bowl (for my bf) seafood ramen (for me) and Sakura roll. The manager took our order and she is SO NICE!! She really tries to get to know you and is super friendly. She gave us extra tofu, and when they accidentally gave my friend chicken instead of beef teriyaki, she just made him a new one and said keep the chicken too. - Agedashi tofu - great, super tasty tho the hard tofu was a little firmer than I'd like - mixed tempura - 3 shrimp & about 6pc veggie, great too tho the batter was a little thick on the shrimp - my ramen was SO GOOD OMG. The broth tasted smooth and was not greasy, the shrimp, mussels, corn etc. were all perfectly cooked and so was the bok choi! My personal pet peeve is overcooked bok choi in ramen and it was actually perfect. Omg. So. Good. - poke bowl was also delicious! My bf loved it, the fish was fresh and surprisingly he liked the yellowtail more than the salmon - beef teriyaki was INCREDIBLE. The beef was more like sliced steak, medium rare and the teriyaki sauce did not overpower the taste of the meat. My friend still can't get over how good it was. - she came over and gave us some spicy sauce too, which tasted simply incredible. A great little place near old town Tracy. The owners are kind and very talkative and I've been coming here for almost the 20 or so years they've been open. Highly suggest their Gyoza, Chicken Fried rice and California rolls. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE!! We stopped in at 1:30 on a non busy Sunday. Ordered a poke bowl, yellowtail nigiri, Saba nigiri and uni nigiri. They were out of Saba so I ordered tuna. My two orders took half an hour..was still waiting on his poke bowl. Took more than 50 minutes. Was good enough but not amazing. They brought out the uni order and it was old and bad. Refused it. They asked if I wanted it remade ( with what?) or to order something else. I said I would eat some of his poke bowl. The fish was mostly fresh and generous portions. Very, very slow! The poke bowl was supposed to have green onions and it had sliced red onions. Overall slipshod, slow delivery, boring interior. NEVER AGAIN!! Also no alcohol The waitress was kind and friendly. There was a only four top ahead of us. You are slow...slow...slow. We just came from la where poke bowls are happening and you get serve within 5-10 minutes of ordering. Serving old uni is sinful. I eat uni as often as possible and know what the texture should be. Better you tell me you don't have than serve me old uni. I buy and eat fresh uni out of the shell. What you wanted to serve me would have poisoned me. After we had been served a woman and child ordered a fried food that came in less than five minutes. WTF! read more

The service is excellent. We ordered appetizers which were delicious. The tempura shrimp was lightly battered and cooked perfect. The very best shrimp I have had in a very long time. The service did take awhile (I ordered to-go & was told 20 minutes, so I went grocery shopping next door to pass the time). When I got back, I still waited a little while longer. Scary don't go there! This was the worst restaurant I ever went in my life. My friend and I order some sushi, sashimi, and agedashi tofu. It took over 35 mins to get that tofu on our table and another 30mins to get the part of sushi and sashimi. There was one more customer besides us. The waitress said we only have one Chef. Wtf?? There was only one person besides us. We ordered yellow tail but The waitress brought us some sad looking unknown old fish. It was looking scary so we got out of there. You cannot park on the side of the restaurants because of their employees parking and always using cell pnones outside. Please do that on the back of the restaurant or where we can't see it. Second time coming here. My first visit was okay. I had ordered a poke bowl and it took a while even though there was only one other group there. The salmon I got in my poke bowl still had the skin on which was weird. I ended up losing my appetite from that. (Tasted good still though!!) On my second try, I got the same thing. The ingredients were SOO FRESH. The salmon didn't have the skin this time, looked clean, well cut, and was incredibly fresh! This visit was really good. I felt so satisfied! Delicious, i don't actually like raw fish.. but they have alternatives to that, you can request to have your fish seared or cooked. Wow top(!) customer service here. The woman working the register was smiling and greeting everyone in there. You could tell there are a lot of regulars and she knows what they like. I ordered a lion king roll and miso soup to go. She said it would be 10 min so I sat down and waited for mine at a booth. As I was the only one in the restaurant, she was telling me about some rolls I should try and said everyone needs to try the poke bowl. My mom and I came here for dinner, we were excited to try a new sushi place. The decor can be a little off putting, it lacks any pizazz or excitement, but the food and service was great! We ordered salmon sashimi, hamachi and salmon nigiri, a California roll, an Alaska roll, and tempura shrimp for my brother to go. All the food was great! The sashimi and nigiri came with 3 pieces each and were a medium size. Not too small but not huge. The rolls include 8 pieces and were a good size! And the tempura is good too, included white rice, and broccoli. The waitress was young, very attentive, and it was clear she really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our food. My 5 star is for service. Everyone there is extremely friendly. The young female server was such a delight. Ive been to many places and had OKAY service and was pleasantly surprised by her knowledge and willingness to help. She came back to check if the food was okay and if we needed anything and gave us time to eat and not disturb us. 10/10 service. We ordered ramen, tempura, and a poke bowl. The food was okay. Nothing spectacular. The fish seemed to be going bad, I had ordered salmon and yellowtail, but everything else in the bowl was good. The ramen portion was small, the size of 1 packet of top ramen noodles. The broth was okay and the pork was very good. The tempura was greasy and biting into the brocoli left a mushy texture from too much batter and grease. Food would be 2-3 stars. Came here with my daughter for lunch. There was only one other table occupied which we didn't think was a good sign, but the previous reviews persuaded us to try it. We're really glad we did.... I had a Thai tea which was delicious and my daughter had the coffee which was also fantastic. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations. We both had the ahi poke bowl and LOVED it, together with a rainbow roll and philly roll which were spot on. Would definitely be back if we're in the area again. read more

I started to come here a few weeks ago and every time im here, the girls are very polite and the chef's cooking is great. So far my favorite is the CA roll and i may try ramen next time. It would be so great to add mochi icecream to the menu also. :) I recommend everyone in Tracy to try it. It is a small, black building across from PizzaHut. I think the only thing needed to get more customers is maybe advertising with flyers or something. read more

Very pleasantly surprised! Came in here for a Friday dinner and we were hungry. Satomi didn't disappoint. We were sweetly greeted and seated. We ordered edamame, Cindy Inferno, seaweed salads and The Gates of Hell. Everything was fresh and had great flavor and good portions. When the server brought us the roll, she said here is your "Gates of Hell" ever so sweetly! Hahaha! The chef came out and checked on us as well and was also very nice. Don't get discouraged by the restaurant's lack of decor. Food is great! Came here for a quick lunch since my boys wanted some Japanese food. We ordered chicken teriyaki, pork ramen, shrimp tempura, some sushi (forgot the names). There were only 2 groups in the resto. I was taken aback at how the resto is so plain, just a few tables & chairs. Looked like they r in the process of renovating. But we were hungry so we proceeded to order. I came here to eat one afternoon after shopping at the Grocery Outlet next door. I knew this was definitely a go-to when I saw the amount of loyal returning customers they had. They treated their customers with great hospitality. Satomi is a great and comforting environment to eat some delicious Japanese food. Michelle was very very courteous and catered to me, she made sure my water was topped off and that everything was okay. Cindy recommended an amazing appetizer called "Cindy's inferno" which I really recommend everyone to try, its delicious! Their sushi to rice ratio is perfect, enough of both sushi and rice just to compliment each other. Appetizing place with wonderful workers! Iefinitely a returning customer!
