I've always loved the Chinese food from Food 4 Less in Stockton. iykyk. The pictures here kinda reminded me of that but unfortunately, didn't fully satisfy my craving of quick Chinese take-out. Our to-go box was stuffed to the brim, like it could barely close shut with how much food they give you, but the orange chicken was a bit tough, like it was old or over fried when cooked. The chow mein was pretty good. I did half chow mein, half fried rice for my 1 side. I would skip the rice next time and just do all chow mein. The mongolian beef was decent. I would get it again. The chicken wings were freshly fried and waited for them, but the wings were tiny and skinny and the chicken was dry, like it was old or something. I would skip those next time. This place is so inexpensive, like my 2 item combo with 1 side (half half) was $8.99. you do not see that these days anywhere. I guess you get what you pay for. Hubby got the 3item combo for $11.59. The spare ribs were not good. It was all chewy, and chunky, and hard to eat. the ribs were more fat than meat. Would skip that too. Service was friendly. The lady worker even said "here you go my friend" when she handed us our food, so I guess we're friends now :) I hope they were having an off day b/c I want to support this local business. Super affordable, family owned restaurant. As you can see they don't skimp on the portions . I can get enough food for two meals ... less than 20 bucks . OK, let me say I found this place to order some trees of food for a funeral of one of my relatives. Ordered one tray of chow mein one tray of fried rice and one tray of garlic chicken. I teach an aqua class at night at the city pool and hubby and I mentioned we wanted to go to China Wok after class, which ended at 8 pm. Always warm and welcoming, the owners are so hospitable! We love coming just to say hi! And the food is great. We ordered honey walnut shrimp, hot and sour soup and a 3 item combo. We will have left overs for a second or third meal! I love this place! The shrimp is the best fried shrimp, and the mushroom stir-fried shrimp is very healthy. I like is since it doesn't have an overpowering garlic taste like other restaurants that complement their other dishes. Their rice is fresh and their Mongolian Beef does not have a lot of gravy, which I prefer a stir-friend taste. My parent's favorite takeout was Chinese food. The best Wor Won Ton soup in town. We like to order a double order and then get a separate container of the chicken broth. Take it home and put all three containers in a pot and reheat it. Great amount for 4 people with a very good broth. Lots of shrimp. As far as other items at this restaurant I've only had their bbq pork. It's good, but can be quite fatty. If you like pork fat with the meat then you're good. The proprietors are very congenial and prompt to accommodate you and get everything correct. The food was great especially the salt and pepper fish but I just had a bad service because I was in front of a guy the younger server was eyeballing and she took him first and he order the food I wanted to order. I end up waiting for them to cook it. It was ok except I was on a Uber and it sucks because of the timing. Sunday 1/3/2021 between 4:35pm to 4:50pm I went to China Wok Do not patron China Wok! This restaurant allows non-mask wearing customers to come to the food counter and order food without question. I inquired with management and instead of enforcing public health rules and denying service to this couple, management said I should have said something. We have already seen in the news when one customer requests another customer to wear a mask. The outcome from the non-mask wearing customer is verbal threats and physical violence to the mask wearing customer. The owner is putting the responsibility for this public health mask requirement on its customers. Do not patron this business. They do not care about your health. And, according to its management, this is a regular non-mask wearing customer. I plan on getting a Covid test. read more

Quick cheap Chinese for dinner! My family frequently gets take out for days we don't feel like cooking. Our go to are the chow mein, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, fried fish and mushroom chicken. We also like the egg drop soup and add extra garlic chili. They are also open on major holidays so I can order party trays! I do a special order of chicken chow mein and salt and pepper shrimp. Both are always a win at family gatherings. read more

Staff is nice and very friendly so it pains me to write this review. I ordered a 2 item plate with fried veggie rice, sweet and sour chicken, and wontons. All of it was cold. I'm not sure if this is a thing now, but I had to add my own soy sauce to the rice, otherwise it was just white rice with veggies, the smallest amount if egg and the hugest onions!!! I picked out alot of the onion. The portion was very large and I guess you get bang for your buck for that reason, but unfortunately I just wasn't very pleased. Sad, because I was excited to find a new Chinese food place. Side note: the staff are ultra nice, a couple there had forgotten their wallet and the employees gave them food anyway. Two item combo with egg roll and drink. I was not impressed with the food here today. The price is right and the portions a bit large, but the taste leaves a lot to be desired. The orange chicken looks great but it's mushy and grainy tasting. The broccoli beef was very broccoli and very little beef. I got three slivers of meat and the broccoli was tough. The chow mein noodles lacked flavor and the rice was sticky and pretty yucky. I am not pleased with my visit today. read more

Placed an order yesterday and both chicken dishes had so much celery instead of any chicken! It was 80:20 ratio! I called to complain to the owner and she said sometimes people want more celery and I older her we didn't even ask for extra celery nor were the word celery ever mentioned! I went in on Sunday afternoon for some food and was "greeted" by someone who didn't smile and seemed like they didn't want to be there. He was quick though and scoped a massive pile of fried rice into my to-go box and handled assembling my meal. The lady who handled the transaction was nice and overall the price seemed fair, especially given today's cost of living. Here's where things really start going downhill though - While paying for the food, someone was using a pole with some steel wool on the end to scrub a metal wall behind an active cooking station (now looking back, that should have been a red flag). Once I got home with my food, things continued downhill... the orange chicken was more like tough old tasting mystery meat with way too much breading. The mushroom chicken faired a bit better as the meat and mushrooms weren't hard or petrified tasting, but it was mostly bland and likely had a flavor reminiscent of old socks... Lastly, I also had a portion of the broccoli and beef, and while the "sauce" was similar to the mushroom chicken it was a smidge sweeter - luckily the broccoli had a nice crunch and while extremely limited in quantity, the beef pieces were palatable. All in all I couldn't in good conscience put that food into my body and ended up throwing 90% it away in fear of food poisoning or other unpleasant bodily reactions. I'd stay far away from this place. read more
