Class: Hot Ashtanga Remix with Carmen…read more As a first-time HOT yoga experience, I'm glad we had Carmen as our instructor. She made it easy to engage with the class. Provided clear guidance and 1-1 instruction on adjustments when needed. Despite the heat wave outside, I somehow didn't keel over in the 100* heat. The class is really easy to get into, and your body will thank you for it after. After all the stretching, you get to cool down as Carmen comes around to place a cool towel on your head and to perform an adjustment to your neck and shoulders. And while I absolutely loved it, Carmen was clear to note that if anyone was uncomfortable with the adjustment, they could opt out without judgment. She definitely creates a very warm (literally), and welcoming space! Thank you so much for having us Carmen and I'm absolutely looking forward to coming back for another class soon! Just a couple tips: - Bring iced water (liquid iv IF you need), maybe a light snack for after! - Bring a small towel (you will sweat!!l - Seriously don't wear cotton!!! I found leggings, a sports bray, and a light cover were perfect! - Check your yoga mat to see if it works for Hot Yoga! If not, no worries, just grab a microfiber towel to lay down onto the mat once you really get sweating cause things can get slippery!! - Don't be afraid to use the support blocks for your knees if needed! It really helps you get the best stretch possible without injuring yourself in the process ;) - Finally, just have fun with it and try to get the most out of the class! Your body will seriously thank you after :)

There's no yoga or pilates studio in the area that even comes close to providing the TLC and…read morepersonalization that Emily and her instructors provide. A year ago, I walked into Emily's studio--M Pilates and Yoga--with unbearable sciatic, low back, and burning compensatory pain across my glutes. No joke, at times, I felt like giving up. Today--a year later--I walked into the studio with some improper form that needed tweaking. Emily and her team address use a holistic approach, incorporating yoga, resistance training, classical and reformer Pilates to not only relieve your symptoms but to identity and repair the root cause(s) of your pain. Emily seems to be on a mission to help you as if your body were her own. The empathy she has for her individual clients and their individual needs is unmatched. The work I put in at M Pilates and Yoga with Emily changed my life. I stopped physical therapy because I had so much success at her studio. This outrageous outpouring of cliches is deservedly and genuinely outrageous due to the transformation that my body has undergone. If you have sciatica, low back and/or piriformis syndrome as a result of chronic disk disease and after countless surgeries and procedures you may feel where I'm coming from. Try three sessions at M Pilates and Yoga and prove me wrong. Otherwise, thank you, Emily!

She was very nice and introduced me to other clients as they arrived. It felt very warm and welcoming. She shared a lot with me before scheduling and that was impress. Most places just see clients and dollar signs. The Studio is diverse with various rooms where they do different things. The class I took was small and the instructor (Lauren) was knowledgeable and paid close attention to ensure everyone was doing the movements safely and getting the benefit expected out of each movement. I have severe lower back issues and I walked out of there feeling great! I look forward to my next session and think I've found an acceptable method to help me help myself naturally and keeps me off of the operating table for now. Thanks again MOXIE! Double thumbs up!!

I'm a total novice at Pilates, so Tara took time to explain proper form and alignment, which I really appreciated. We spent the first part of the session doing mat exercises, and then she led me through some exercises on the Reformer. Tara was friendly, encouraging, and patient, and her explanations were very clear. She adjusted the exercises to my level (absolute beginner), but she also made sure that my form was totally correct, and I'm really grateful for that. Setting up the appointment through the Align website was easy, and I was relieved to find that the studio has its own parking lot, so I didn't have to worry about finding street parking. The studio space is clean, welcoming, and large. I'm looking forward to checking out the group classes at Align and maybe taking some more private sessions.
