As one does on their jury duty lunch break, I meandered around trying to find the best spot to blow my hard earned $30 for my civic service. I knew I wanted an iced coffee and some sort of wrap or sandwich. Yelp directed me here and it delivered. The vibe is fantastic, bright and airy giving old time downtown vibes. The process is a little confusing with signs that say order, cashier, coffee, etc. I ordered and had no idea where to pick up what. I asked someone and they said at one end of the counter but after about 15mins, I checked the other end by the coffee sign and it was there, so idk. Others seemed to be a little confused too. I ordered a special coffee drink - Iced salted caramel macchiato. It was just ok and on the more expensive side. I wouldn't really recommend. To eat I got the buff chick wrap. Loved it. It came on a wheat wrap and was light - perfect for lunch. read more

I try to stop by every time I'm In Baltimore. I had the meat lovers omelet with white toast on this trip. It comes with home fries, which are really good, reminds me of breakfast potatoes my mother used to make. This place is run well, owner is always behind the counter making sure all is running smoothly and he's friendly. You need to try it, really good food. read more

We stumbled upon David's and Dad's Cafe while walking to a parking garage after checking out of our hotel, and it turned out to be one of the best surprises of our trip! We had two bagel sandwiches and coffee, and everything was great. The menu has a huge variety, so there's something for everyone. The service was top notch, and the space itself has an incredible, cool vibe with that old building charm. A great place for a leisurely breakfast in the heart of Baltimore! Just blocks from downtown hotels and the convention center. Portions are more than ample and the price is right. My pancakes were fluffy and hearty at the same time, which is hard to pull off. I was very happy. (Small points off for serving the updated branding of Aunt Jemima instead of real maple syrup. But you can't have everything.) The fried potatoes were cooked absolutely perfectly, as were my eggs. And when I asked for crispy bacon (I don't like the floppy stuff) the order taker made sure to note it. And it came out great. Coffee was good, with refills from staff at the counter. Pepsi products are self serve at the soda dispenser. Staff was very friendly and didn't mind us lingering after we ate to plan out our day. read more

The building is in an old bank but you can't miss it when you walk in, it's right when you enter. If you go during lunch, it's very crowded. No matter where you stand, you seem to be in someone's way. I literally was in 4 different spots in corners of the room and still had people saying excuse me to get by. The employee who took my order was nice and told me the process. You place your order. They give you a number. Then you pay when your food is ready and they call yournumber. My food came out pretty quick overall. My food was just okay. I got a chicken cheesesteak with fries. The bread wasn't really toasted, just around the edges. The chicken was cubed and orange cheese. My biggest issue was lack of seasoning on the chicken and the fries. Unfortunately this was probably a one and done for me. Employees were nice but the food was average. read more

Food is great, my go to's have been D&D breakfast platter, eggs & pancakes, yogurt parfait, lunch sandwiches, giro salad, grill cheese with ham and my piece de resistance fries with gravy (similar to disco fries and poutine but w/o the cheese). I randomly located this place by my job and ordered a Asian Grilled Chicken Salad on my 1st visit. Great telephone service, visually attractive, spacious, organized, and easy to navigate. Impressive customer service. Since that 1st visit, I've been there 3-4 more times. I've had their Chicken and Rice Soup. Very tasty. MD Crab... a little bland. Old Bay Wings, very yum !! Great sized wing too !! I love their fresh brewed peach tea. I have a few more things on my food wishlist that I would like to try. This Cafe is located in the perfect spot for locals!! Loved this place! It was such a whole in the wall place in Baltimore. You go in, order your food, and get your food within minutes! It was super quick and super tasty. We came for a Friday morning breakfast because we stayed at a nearby hotel. Ordering was quick and easy once we had chosen from the extensive menu. Our food came out hot and fresh (I recommend the egg salad!), and the coffee was full-flavored and not bitter. Loved the bagel, too. The staff were all friendly and helpful, even though there was a steady stream of customers. We will definitely be back when we travel this way again. read more

I asked for decaf i was told drip decaf only so i asked for decaf with oat milk and caramel drizzle, coffee was cold because there was so much cream or maybe the coffee was never hot, caramel drizzle was lumped at the bottom, taste horrible. I never thought i would find coffee worse than dunkin! The pasta salad was good. I walked in and encountered one guy the whole time, he sent me to counter to order said I could not order from well apparently he was the only one working he ended up helping me anyway. First off, the building is amazing. It's an old bank turned into a restaurant. The doors are a little hard to open but it's pretty cool looking. We went here 2 days in a row and if we were staying longer, we'd go everyday. The staff were very friendly. You go up to the counter to order then to another counter to pay. We happened to go both days right before the rush. The first day we ordered lunch because we had a late start in the morning. My turkey and provolone panini was so hot and delicious. My husband's chicken souvlaki was a lot of food and also delicious. The second day we made it to breakfast. We both got the power breakfast sandwich and shared a bowl of fresh fruit. It was just what we needed, something healthy! Service was fast and the prices were reasonable. If we ever go back to Baltimore, we will definitely go back there. read more

I'm a fan of David and Dad's Catering. Whenever they cater events, I'm pleased with the boxed lunches or the hot food. The food was ok, service is good but the issue I had was that when I asked for cash back to give to the bus person the owner said they don't do cash back (which I'm perfectly ok with that) but I asked them to charge me some cash to give specifically to a bus person they said tips have to be shared, hahaha another owner that doesn't pay their employees enough I guess and wants to decide how tips are used and tell me the patron how or who do I tip. NO WAY. Tips are earned and I should decide who I tip. so the owner when so far to say that the bus person can't accept tips bc they have to go through their system. What a shame of human been. On a recent trip to Baltimore we checked out David and Dad's cafe for breakfast. They had several options for both grab and go as well as sit and eat. Order at the counter and it's brought to your table. Pricing is fairly reasonable being a tourist area and the atmosphere was pleasant as David and Dad's operates out of an old bank building. The architectural details were lovely. My French toast was one of the best plates of French toast I've had in awhile. Crisp cinnamon edges with the soft not over gooey centers. Cinnamon butter melting upon the top was literally the icing on the cake. Took it to the next level. His meat lovers omelet was full of meat and cooked perfectly. Side of sausage and scrapple were somewhat skimpy but overall our experience was a positive one. read more

Inside an old bank, this nondescript breakfast joint serves up tasty food at a fair price point. The portion sizes are pretty good and the service is friendly, with hard working staff. It is a bit confusing to find, and the layout is also a bit confusing, but I think it is more like cafeteria style than a greasy spoon. I also wish they provided more drink offerings than just coffee and smoothies. Sure, they offer juice, but only in a bottle. Some fresh squeezed orange juice would really help, but they do not provide that here. The little critiques should not deter you from eating here. However, I would get here early as it gets busy and the surrounding parking area fills up quickly. read more

This is one little place you want to go every single time you go to Baltimore the food is exceptional you know it's a great local hang out as well. On Thursdays they have homemade pot pie which is just delicious and the desserts are always amazing. I have the souvlaki which was fresh and delicious. I go back again every time I get a chance. I've also had the cheeseburger which was exceptional on another occasion and I've also had the pot pie and the chicken sandwich. All of them are fantastic. read more

Really great place! Stopped in for a quick breakfast. The staff here were very warm and welcoming, and were helpful in answering our questions. We ordered at the counter and then took a seat with our number. I had one of the breakfast burritos which was good and very filling. My partner had the BALT and a side of home fries. David and dads is so good! We ordered lunch and some pastries for the morning of my wedding for folks to munch on while getting ready and they were so good! Everything was delivered perfectly and on time. The pinwheels and cinnamon scones in particular were so tasty and helped me to eat which is helpful on one's wedding day! I came with coworkers to eat in the restaurant recently and it was cutely decorated for the holidays. There are tons of options for breakfast and lunch - it's not hard to find something to order! I went with an omelet and our table split a strawberry waffle. Everything was very tasty! The only negative is it's location. It's in the middle of mt Vernon which is a busy spot and can be tough to find street parking close by. There are garages though or you just have to be fine with walking a bit to get there. read more

Order a pastrami sandwich and asked for it to be toasted but instead received cold pastrami, which is out of the ordinary compared to to other places and barely toasted.
