We stumbled upon David's and Dad's Cafe while walking to a parking garage after checking out of our hotel, and it turned out to be one of the best surprises of our trip! We had two bagel sandwiches and coffee, and everything was great. The menu has a huge variety, so there's something for everyone. The service was top notch, and the space itself has an incredible, cool vibe with that old building charm. Big shout out to the busboy, he was everywhere, keeping the room running smoothly with a friendly smile the whole time. Highly recommend this spot if you're in Baltimore!

I loooooove this spot! High Quality food, good customer service, fair pricing and nice flavor profile. My only gripe is that I wish they stayed open longer and if you're driving here, parking can be a nightmare. Other than these things this place is #Everything to me!

A great place for a leisurely breakfast in the heart of Baltimore! Just blocks from downtown hotels and the convention center. Portions are more than ample and the price is right. My pancakes were fluffy and hearty at the same time, which is hard to pull off. I was very happy. (Small points off for serving the updated branding of Aunt Jemima instead of real maple syrup. But you can't have everything.) The fried potatoes were cooked absolutely perfectly, as were my eggs. And when I asked for crispy bacon (I don't like the floppy stuff) the order taker made sure to note it. And it came out great. Coffee was good, with refills from staff at the counter. Pepsi products are self serve at the soda dispenser. Staff was very friendly and didn't mind us lingering after we ate to plan out our day.

The building is in an old bank but you can't miss it when you walk in, it's right when you enter. If you go during lunch, it's very crowded. No matter where you stand, you seem to be in someone's way. I literally was in 4 different spots in corners of the room and still had people saying excuse me to get by. The employee who took my order was nice and told me the process. You place your order. They give you a number. Then you pay when your food is ready and they call yournumber. My food came out pretty quick overall. My food was just okay. I got a chicken cheesesteak with fries. The bread wasn't really toasted, just around the edges. The chicken was cubed and orange cheese. My biggest issue was lack of seasoning on the chicken and the fries. Unfortunately this was probably a one and done for me. Employees were nice but the food was average.

I randomly located this place by my job and ordered a Asian Grilled Chicken Salad on my 1st visit. Great telephone service, visually attractive, spacious, organized, and easy to navigate. Impressive customer service. Since that 1st visit, I've been there 3-4 more times. I've had their Chicken and Rice Soup. Very tasty. MD Crab... a little bland. Old Bay Wings, very yum !! Great sized wing too !! I love their fresh brewed peach tea. I have a few more things on my food wishlist that I would like to try. This Cafe is located in the perfect spot for locals!! I can't wait to return !!

Loved this place! It was such a whole in the wall place in Baltimore. You go in, order your food, and get your food within minutes! It was super quick and super tasty. The perfect spot to go to when I was starving for lunch. And don't get me started on the panini. The sauce that they put in the sandwich elevated the flavors. Each sandwich comes with a bag of chips too.

Good Sandwich. Nice place to have lunch during Jury Duty on a week day. Nice location in walking distance from the court house.

First off, the building is amazing. It's an old bank turned into a restaurant. The doors are a little hard to open but it's pretty cool looking. We went here 2 days in a row and if we were staying longer, we'd go everyday. The staff were very friendly. You go up to the counter to order then to another counter to pay. We happened to go both days right before the rush. The first day we ordered lunch because we had a late start in the morning. My turkey and provolone panini was so hot and delicious. My husband's chicken souvlaki was a lot of food and also delicious. The second day we made it to breakfast. We both got the power breakfast sandwich and shared a bowl of fresh fruit. It was just what we needed, something healthy! Service was fast and the prices were reasonable. If we ever go back to Baltimore, we will definitely go back there.

Zoom in to see the lox in the bagel. I think imma just stick to the drinks. I got an apple latte and it's pretty good but the bagel feels like ragebait.

I'm a fan of David and Dad's Catering. Whenever they cater events, I'm pleased with the boxed lunches or the hot food. To be clear, they do not have extravagant flavors or elaborate presentations, but it's simple food that works for business lunches, meetings, etc. GLOWS: -They have an expansive menu of hot and cold options. You can mix and match to create your desired menu. -The dessert options are simple but pretty good -Although I have never been, they have a nice cafe location as well... as Ive seen driving by!

I loved the selection of pastries they offered--the pandan pastry was definitely my favorite. My husband ordered the drip coffee over ice, and I got the Vietnamese iced coffee. Both coffees were excellent. The Vietnamese coffee was a bit too sweet for my taste, and it was served in a very small glass. I think it would have been even better with a little more coffee to balance the sweetness. For lunch, we ordered the kimbap and the egg bowl, and both dishes were outstanding. The only downside was that it took about 35 minutes for our food to arrive. However, the cafe was extremely busy and clearly backed up, so we didn't mind the wait too much--especially since the food was so delicious. The indoor space is quite small, but they do offer outdoor seating. I can't wait to come back and try more of their Asian-inspired pastries and dishes. What a fantastic addition to the neighborhood!

Anyone can show up, any time. Everyone's welcomed. You can have a good convo w/o having to scream thru it. MASSIVE PLUS *smile*!!! From a musical perspective, all sorts of genres pump thru the system and the ability to make selections is much better than other bars, which is great. It's even better when your selections are getting other people to enjoy the music and their time there, as well. Always a crowd pleaser. Aside from a fully stocked bar, there's a great beer selection. I happen to LOVE ciders and there's always an excellent choice available. The bartenders are always welcoming and accommodating. People come to unwind and have a good time w/o any pretense. I really enjoy the Tavern for that reason.

I travel to Baltimore often for work, and when two completely separate people tell me I need to eat…read moresomewhere, eventually I'm going to listen. In the case of Chaps Pit Beef, I've now listened twice. First, the setting deserves its own star. There's something wonderfully Baltimore about pulling into a place famous across the country for pit beef, sharing the immediate surroundings with a strip club, and knowing you can shop for used tires across the street when you're finished. Add the walls of awards, television appearances, photos and decades of accumulated lore inside and the whole thing feels less like stopping for lunch and more like making a small pilgrimage. And that's part of why I'm struggling with Chaps. I've tried several of the sandwiches across my two visits. I've piled on the raw onions, pickles and sauces. I've ordered too much--which feels both heroic and completely appropriate here--and walked away convinced that Chaps is very good. But I haven't found my five-star Chaps order yet. The pit beef itself is clearly the reason for the pilgrimage, and the condiment station is part of the experience. Beef, raw onion and that horseradish-heavy Tiger Sauce is a combination I could happily keep attacking. But then you look around at the menu and realize you've barely scratched the surface: beef, sausage, corned beef, turkey, enormous combinations of all of the above, gravy fries, homemade sides and sandwiches carrying names and reputations of their own. It's almost overwhelming. That's ultimately why I'm leaving Chaps at four stars--for now. There's a five-star experience hiding here. I can feel it. I'm just not convinced I've ordered it yet. Next visit I'm stripping this thing back before building it up again: pit beef medium-rare, raw onion and Tiger Sauce as the control. Then I'm going in the opposite direction with one of the ridiculous combinations--probably Guy's DDD--and finally giving the gravy fries their proper opportunity. If that unlocks what generations of Baltimoreans and seemingly every food television personality already know, I'll happily come back here and move this to five stars. If after three visits I'm still admiring the institution more than craving the food, maybe it moves the other direction. For now: Chaps is absolutely worth the stop. The food is good, the history is real, and the atmosphere couldn't be manufactured if someone tried. I just haven't cracked the code yet. Four stars, with one more trip pending.

Good space. I was sad to see that they left. The replacement, however, has truly impressed me. The new & improved current location has nearly 'quadrupled' in size with its redesign/ buildout. The location is well lit and has morphed from a small neighborhood cafe into a full service vendor. Aside from a menu offering an impressive myriad of options, HM is also a massive grocer/ wine & cafe. They offer wine tastings and a very clean space. I believe they openEd in 2025.
