I've been to this place a few times and am very familiar with the brand. They have great looking clothes, and there's no doubt their concept is unique. The service at this place is some of the worst though. The employees are here to hang out. I literally had to beg one guy behind the register to check out. He was too busy picking music to really care about making a sale. Won't be going back, there's too many options in this city to put up with that. read more

This is coffee shop that sells clothing, not a surf shop. They sell overpriced boards that they don't know anything about. I tried talking to a few of the guys about design and certain boards, they were like "Yeah, this one looks cool". Cool little Montauk surf shack turned coffee bar on a quiet street where Soho meets Chinatown. This place vibes like the younger, more authentic little sister to "hey-what's-up" Hollister just up the street. The dudes running this place like to talk about what's going on and welcome you to hang out in their amazing hidden outdoor space. Secretly, they don't mind if you bring your bag lunch and eat it in their garden, a huge plus in this park starved area. Just don't be a total donkey, buy a coffee or water or something first. There's a lot of staff here and I never see them selling much. Is it a surf shop or a coffee place? Cute urban surfer dudes hanging out on the recycled wood benches out front are a big plus. But as I gaze I can't wonder what their business model is? Probs mom and dad own the building. Espresso here is pretty good and served up quick. A coffee shop? A surf shop? A clothing store? All in one? Yup. I couldn't resist getting an iced latte while two friends wandered further into the store to look at clothes and hats. Definitely a hip, cozy feel to this place. It was pretty busy too and there was no pressure to buy. Friend ended up with a nice shirt and happy with his purchase. On my end, iced latte and cappuccino cost $8. They only take cash. Barista wasn't particularly friendly...maybe tired...didn't say thank you after purchase and put change on the table even though I had my hand out. I would frequently pass this hidden coffeeshop/surf gear store on my way to class every morning, but it wasn't until I was about to leave back to California that I decided to give this place a try. It was definitely worth it. Let's start out with the coffee: although it wasn't the best (the barista let the shots expire, I believe), it was much better than chain stores such as Starbucks. The attention to detail was appreciated, and the decor was superb. The porch in the back was also a very pleasant and relaxing place to drink my coffee. It was this first and foremost that turned me on to Saturdays..I will definitely return when I come back to NYC next month and I can see myself becoming a regular. read more

Saturday's Surf is a high-end surf clothing company. There products are very minimal and are great quality. All though some of their products are high priced it has great quality. I came here first because I knew about the clothes but when I got there, there was a barista and an outdoor seating area in the back. The seating area is a hidden gem that is a great meet up spot, you see all sorts of people and it's so cool back there. The coffee is made by La Colombe, which serves great coffee so coming here to stop by for some coffee is always nice. I wild definitely recommend stopping by to grab a coffee and sit in the back. read more

Was not aware that Saturdays Surf was a not-for-profit-business. If it isn't and I were a stakeholder I would be pretty concerned that the overall brand equity of Saturdays Surf is of less concern to some of the staff at this location than parity with every retailer in the world (including resellers of their products). They must not have gotten the memo about retail in 2017. When asked about the return policy a manager recommends I not return a product because it would mess up inventory. So they didn't want to deal with a return and blamed it on their system. So either A) This company with distribution around the globe does not have a functioning inventory management system, B) They're doing so well they don't need to worry about customer LTV (yet are offering 25% off at the moment) or C) This manager is completely full of crap. I'm going to go with C. I would definitely not waste time shopping with these clowns . You can do much better at adjacent retailers that offer higher quality clothes or go online. read more

Favorite store in NYC. Friendly barista (even when he's really hungover), good coffee, great garden out back. A nice place to meet a friend or have a casual meeting. Even on the hottest days, the garden seems remarkably cool. The place is run by a group of the friendliest, hunkiest guys you'll ever find. I would not have known about this place if a friend did not tell me about it. From the front it looks like another clothing store unless you peer in and spot the espresso machine! I like the backyard patio - great for a group of friends to hang out, or even if you're just looking for a place to read by yourself. This store exudes cool...the type of cool one would feel when enveloped by a crashing wave on a balmy summer day. Perhaps I'm biased because I've long been seduced by the allure of the surfer life. Unfortunately, lack of proximity to a beach has made me an admirer from afar. I find it awesome that a surf shop is nestled between concrete - it's so unexpected, which is what I love about it. Boutique/surf shop/café all in one roof?! DOPE!! First time walking in the store felt like I just found paradise. In fact, I did and it was quite momentous. The type of lifestyle this company sets out for is certainly apparent throughout the space--gotta give a shout-out to the fellas of Saturdays NYC for killing the game. Aside from selling apparel with great style and superb quality, this shop also serves excellent roasts from La Colombe. To those familiar with LCT on Lafayette know how hard it is to enjoy a great latte due to the lack of seating. One great thing about this shop is its spacious back deck where you can enjoy a great cup of coffee while catching up on work or hanging out with a group of friends. I can already tell this place is excellent for one of those summertime kickbacks. read more

Saturdays is a higher-end (for a surf brand) clothing company. They have great-fitting basics with a nice color palette. Seasonal sales are around the end of winter and summer (Jan/Feb and Aug/Sep). Nice hidden place to enjoy coffee in the backyard patio - can get crowded on the weekends. Service is interesting - Answers can be short but staff is generally well-meaning. On the odd day you can score some free stickers and tote bags. Be warned this isn't your typical surf shop, the experience is more Supreme than Billabong - and priced accordingly. read more

Happened upon this spot while walking down one of my favorite streets in New York (Crosby St.). Looked pretty interesting (coffee + surfboards) so I figured I'd try the coffee. Pretty minimal inside, some standing surfboards along the left wall, coffee bar, and clothes(?) in the back. The coffee itself was pretty good (I'm not hard to please / I take it black). In conclusion, plus 4 stars for being a simple coffee shop with good coffee, minus 1 star because I wouldn't go out of my way to get something here but I'd definitely stop in if I was in the neighborhood. read more

Was in New York for a couple of hours for an interview, hoped to pick up some reef booties for an upcoming surf trip, and didn't have time to haul myself out to Mollusk. Thought maybe Saturdays would have some. Not only did they not, the guy who worked behind the counter wasn't even a surfer. It's not QUITE fair to say that this is surf style only -- there were plenty of legit boards and wetsuits -- but style definitely matters as least as much as actual surf gear. That said, the shop sure is pretty with all the surf stylings. :) read more

I unfortunately had a very bad experience shopping online with Saturdays Surf. I purchased a swimsuit that had recently been put on sale, and when it came it was way too small. I figured I could easily mail it back and exchange it, but when trying to do so, I found that exchanging sale items is impossible, which I was not made aware of before making the purchase. If this had been made clear beforehand, I would not have made this purchase. I sent an email explaining the situation and have not received a response. It's sad because I love the swimsuit, but unfortunately there's nothing I can really do with it now and I'm out $50. So If you're buying online, check and double check to see if there are any restrictions, or else you might get stuck with some ill-fitting piece of clothing and nothing to do with it. read more

I bought a pair of baggies here in July and the first time I wore them the button ripped out of the back pocket and the eyelet came out of the front where the strings tie. So I kept wearing them anyway and now the velcro is ripping to pieces in the front and hangs out of the fly. All of this after wearing them maybe 10 times? Only surfing in them like 4 times?They look great but if you've ever surfed and owned legit boardshorts you know you should be able to wear them for years. I really wanted to like their stuff because I like the aesthetic and fit more than traditional surf brands but this place is just a coffee shop with a nicely designed logo and expensive clothes that fall apart. read more

I was recently contacted by Saturdays about the previous transactions and the customer service was AMAZING, a complete 180. I will definitely be stopping by the store again and would highly suggest any previous nay-sayers give them a second try. After surfing for almost twenty years up and down both coasts, this is the furthest thing from a surf shop I have ever experienced. Considering where it is I'm not surprised but wow, what missed opportunity. I was never greeted, some staff were zoned out on the computer while others talked to each other, typical of the neighborhood but not of any real surf shop. An enthusiastic, caring and genuine staff could have made the place an oasis of approachable hospitality, the soul of any real surf shop. If you're looking to drop $500 + on a board from staff that look too weak to paddle and afraid to get their hair wet, you found the right place. I figure the coffee tastes like ocean water, one potentially authentic characteristic but I wasn't going to stay long enough to sample a cup. read more

Manager, Dylan was so kind to me, my speaking English not so good but he was patient and helped me decide sizes for friends and show me popular styles, gave me stickers and poster and took photo with me. A surf shop in Soho? Apparently. It's pretty, that's for sure. But the espresso? It's really really fine. Up there among the best in the city. Though not completely consistent, it's never been less than excellent. Walk the three or four blocks down from the Starbucks on Spring Street for some real coffee. And the staff has always been chill but completely open to chatting. read more
