Always a good venue. Good drinks, nice people, clean bathrooms. Games, snacks, coffee redbull, pinball. What else could you possibly want? Seriously love this space for shows, hangoing out, photo opportunities, private events, whatever. The theme and aesthetic are amazing.

Tommy Prine and and Partridge! Two of my favorite humans.

Great venue! Sound and lighting were first class. I attended Tommy Prine w/Abe Partridge in support. All of the staff were friendly and efficient.

I literally stumbled into this gem and I must say I'm glad I did. I really felt like a kid again in this place playing all the old video games I use to play. It is a great place to come by yourself and with a group of friends to play board games and grab drinks.

I can definitely say that Saturn Birmingham is one of the greats. The shows and events I've been to have always been memorable. The atmosphere is incredibly eclectic plus an amazing staff. I highly recommend a visit.

Another morning, another local coffee shop. Calling it a coffee shop is a bit unfair because it is so much more. Part arcade, game room, live performance venue and all manner of techno, neo-max zoom dweebie, come hipster kitsch, it's pretty cool. COVID- ok. Sustainability - ok. I do worry about this business a little as it is totally premised on eliminating social distances in a good way.

Definitely one of my favorite spots to go now. A great place to bring your friends, feel a sense of nostalgia, and get a drink.

Great blueberry pastry & excellent coffee

What a great little coffee shop. Well, actually maybe no so little. Open and creatively themed interior with WiFi, USB ports along the bar, plenty of seating, board games, and some old electronic games (in the hallway toward the back - near bathrooms.) Excellent coffee (Peruvian single origin today). Some dynamite local pastries - sweet. Congenial, knowledgable, and friendly staff.

    Frozen and perfect for summer

This was the spot we would all come to to do homework. It's still got that same warmth and charm. I came in on a Wednesday morning to sit and do some work. I ordered a cappuccino, bran muffin, and a breakup cookie to take home. The cappuccino is just as expected. Served at the perfect temp, great flavor. The bran muffin, which was my attempt to be healthy, was really a delicious stand-out. I would definitely get that again. And, of course, the breakup cookies are some of the best cookies in town. They bake all of the baked goods in-house, I believe, which gets a round of applause from me. A lot of the recipes are still the same ones I remember from 7 years ago. One thing I noticed that's even BETTER than I remember was the books and gift selection. A lot of the books caught my eye. It's a great curation of fiction, non, memoirs, birding books, children's, etc. They also carry the Village Apothecary candles, which are made locally and have some packaging I really love. Church Street is one of the Birmingham staples. I hope they're open for a million more years. They do what they do exceptionally well.

A bold claim, no? Maybe that's all you need to know... but I love writing about coffee shops so don't stop here. I love real deal coffeehouses (yes, in a house) and it's so cozy in here. I didn't stay to work because every seat was taken both times I came in (late morning), so get here early or perhaps late, if you want a seat in the middle of the week. The baristas couldn't be nicer. They took their time and chatted with customers, a rarity in those crowded coffee chains. Do check out those seasonal lattes (I mean, for February, a cherry blossom latte? Say less). My favorite is on the regular menu, a salted rosemary latte and it's literally perfect. I adjusted the sweetness level to be less so, and I loved the notes of floral rosemary and coffee. Pro tip: skip the line and order ahead!

The menu was large and well diverse: they even had a cortado on the menu which I cant get at all coffee shops!   I am surprised not more people know about the place. I had never heard of it until I was scrolling through highly rated coffee shops on Yelp! The space inside is large and can seat lots of people! For being in Birmingham this surprised me; I feel like most coffee shops here are fairly small.    I also appreciated how relaxed and welcoming the environment felt. It's such a unique place with it being both a restaurant as well as a shop. It's got a very nostalgic feel to it with the decor and items for sale. Being very laid back, down to earth and often times socially awkward, I admit that it felt a little hoity toity, while also being a very welcoming spot. It's hard to explain, so you'll have to check it out for yourself. Also worth noting for the plus size community: the chairs are not plus size friendly. (See zoomed in photo) The employees there were on top of their jobs and super helpful. They cleaned up the tables that emptied quickly, as the lunch crowd trickled in. The food was good. I loved the creative presentation of the sampler plate! The pimento cheese was very cold and hard to spread but I still it. The toast triangles were delicious! While they offer a lot of excellent coffee choices. I only got a 1/2 & 1/2 tea. Even the restroom was really neat with the retro decor. I'd definitely go back.
