Gandy Pool is a great deal for $5 per person to swim in a recreation or a lap pool. Restrooms and…read morelocker rooms (rental is .75) both have showers. All seemed clean enough, especially the pool. There's one low diving board and both Adirondack and lounge chairs, as well as some bleacher seating. There's a nice undersea mural on one wall, and lovely vegetation in the other: hibiscus, birds of paradise, palms. I wish we had something this easy-going and cheap where I live outside Atl! I see some have complained about life guards, but I didn't see anything out of line. No food or drink other than some vending machines, but they let you bring in whatever you want. My only complaint (if you can call it that) was that the concrete around the pool gets super hot in the afternoon sun, so wear water shoes or keep your flip flops nearby.

I was able to attend the Rec Center for multiple activities, including swimming, a boxing class,…read morethe gym facilities, and to play tennis. For classes, it costs $5 per class and $4 to use the pool. You're able to buy a $20 pass for multiple visits. To use the tennis courts, it's free of charge ( including use of rackets and balls) before 5pm; and I really enjoyed the boxing class. Great workout. Overall, it has clean facilities and the staff was nice. I wish they offered a monthly membership, because it can get pricey going several times each week. Overall, I will continue to enjoy the facilities considering I don't live in the area and only attend once or twice a week.

This guy is a FAKE master. Asked about getting lessons, completely blew me off with a delusional,…read morearrogant attitude. He thinks for push hands you need to be practicing taiji for decades, and he further thinks you need years of completely unrelated disciplines like forms, Taiji Sword?!, etc. He's a complete poser who has not developed qi, has no idea what energy feels like, and caters to an ignorant group of students who will also never feel qi. Ask him to demonstrate fajin, ask him the mechanics of neidan, how to develop anything energetic, and he will be clueless. That all his 5 star reviews are middle-aged women, no offense, should give you a clue this guy is not a martial artist at all... just some hobbyist with an ego who loves being called 'master' by people with zero skill. If you want to relieve stress and do fake taiji, this guy is likely great (as is any yoga instructor with equivalent zero spiritual/energetic ability). If, however, you want actual martial arts training, want to learn zhan zhuang, qigong, neigong, neidan, fajin, push hands, etc, he is terrible and has literally no clue what he's doing.

I was actually searching for a yoga class when I happened upon the information on an upcoming six…read moreweek beginners' tai chi class with Peter. I decided it would be fun to try, and I am so glad I did. By the end of the 6 week series I knew it was something that I wanted to continue to learn. Tai chi has helped me eliminate stress, become more aware, and helped me gain focus in many areas of my life. Peter is an excellent instructor. In addition to the moves, he helps his students understand concepts, meditation, body alignment, how everything is connected, the concept of yin and yang, and much more. Peter "gets it" and is able to convey and share this knowledge with his students.

I've only come here for one class so far, and I was pretty impressed. We did a haute yoga class,…read moreand it was also my first time ever trying any type of yoga at a business so I was really not sure what to expect. But I really loved it! It took some getting used to walking into that hot room, it honestly feels suffocating to begin with but then it gets better, and you feel absolutely amazing after, like totally refreshed and rejuvenated because you've sweated out all the toxins from your body. According to my friend's knowledge, who has done a lot of yoga in her life already, she said the class we did was one of the harder ones, but I still loved it and the challenge and our instructor was super chill and great at explaining things for the most part, and this is coming from a complete beginner. It was really easy to book my spot online, and the prices are definitely not cheap but they aren't the worst either in my opinion. I'm definitely going to come back at some point. And, it's right at the Southgate shopping center so one of the coolest landmarks in Lakeland, how fun!!

As much as I'd like to join the high ratings for this studio I simply can't. I write this as a…read morelong-time yoga practitioner and came here by recommendation. The people working here are very nice and the studio is clean. The practice area is inviting and of ample size, but the initial vibe didn't feel yogic. I prefer getting to my mat early to begin focusing on a calming breath. Studios often display signs on the door asking practitioners to keep the volume down. Here, sunlight pours through the windows, the overhead lights were on, and several members were sitting facing each other having a fairly loud conversation. I don't put this entirely on the studio but promoting silence prior to practice is advisable. The hot yoga class itself, led by a sub, was generic, lacked several elements, and offered no variations for more advanced practitioners. Throughout the class, I kept hoping for more. Though this studio claims this class to be a motivating and challenging experience it felt more like basic YMCA yoga. I expected more for a $21 drop-in fee. I've reviewed countless yoga studios and have practiced all over the world. This is only the second studio that has ever been less than stellar but I feel I've reviewed it fairly.
