Lug cap, not lug nut. The decorative piece that does nothing was enough for them to fail me to try and sell me a new part that's not needed. Also the inspection mechanic locked my seat belt and then failed the vehicle because seat belt wouldn't unlock. It unlocked when I got there. Now it is really stuck and the service station won't fix it unless I pay them. Even though they broke it. Another no brainier for staying away from this place is the 'mechanic' turned on my interior light and left it on all day. From 9 in the morning until I picked up at 2:30. When I asked the six hundred pound woman that takes the money why my light was left on all day she informed me that the mechanic couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Even though he had just turned it on. This is the kind of scam shop that breaks your car and charges you to fix it. A word to the wise fellow yelpers- stay away from this place.

With them missing or forgetting to do what we needed. Their resolution is "we will get that next time." Not just once or twice. At least the last 5 visits. Most recently we had a car inspection. Needed an oil change but they didn't notice, and didn't offer. Decided to take that car to dealership who happens to be on the same block as Daddario but much easier to get in and out of, plus the dealership is open on Saturdays. Anyway, we go in for an oil change and the mechanic noticed a hole in the tire. A dangerous hole that could cause a blow out on the highway. How did Daddario miss this in inspection? The car had recently hit a bad pothole in neighborhood, left behind by utility company. The inspection was immediately after that incident. I feel like Daddario is in too much of a rush or their mechanics are lazy. They've lost our business. The only reason it's 2 stars instead of 1, is because the guys on the phone and at the desk are friendly. But, yet no accountability for missing and forgetting things.

When I test drove the vehicle, I loved it, but they were not willing to fix something minor on it. I called another shop and was quoted how much it would cost to fix that particular problem. Nathan was not willing to go down on the price, even though there was an issue with the vehicle. He told me he would talk to the service department again and see if they could fix it. I've been a customer at West Penn for all of my vehicle maintenance, but after a recent visit, I…read morewon't be returning. During an oil change and tire rotation, they called and told me a stud was over-tightened. I pointed out that I've only ever had work done at their shop; logically, it would have been one of their own mechanics. They immediately denied any responsibility, claiming it couldn't have been them. Rather than argue, I accepted their explanation at face value, and paid my bill in full and respectfully let them know that I'd no longer be bringing my business there. They left a typed letter and $20 in cash under the invoice on my front seat; not as a sincere gesture, but as a passive-aggressive parting shot. The letter reiterated that they didn't think it was their fault and criticized me for bringing my own oil and filter (something they had never brought up as an issue before). It was unprofessional, unnecessary, and left a bad impression. Ironically, their education of bringing my own oil made me realize it's better to support local shops by letting them supply parts too; something I would've been happy to do for them had they addressed it professionally. This shop had all the opportunity to maintain a long-term customer relationship, but instead chose defensiveness and condescension. I can't recommend West Penn to anyone looking for professional, honest service.

I have been bringing my Hyundai SantaFe to West Penn Auto consistently for 5-6 years for routine…read moremaintenance as well as unexpected issues with my vehicle. After getting my wheels rotated during one specific visit, I was experiencing a thumping/rattling noise when turning my wheels. Come to find out, one of the front wheels was extremely loose, turns out lug nuts were not tightened. After this mishap, I decided to bring my vehicle to a different mechanic when experiencing issues with the engine. Upon further inspection, the vehicle actually had two other major underlying structural issues including a completely rotted frame. I was told that if I were to drive over train tracks too fast, the vehicle would completely slide off the frame. I wish I could say West Penn was vigilant enough to discover this issue months earlier considering their friendly staff and low prices. I will not be returning.
