I'll start with the good first. This is a hotel restaurant and my experience with those can be very hit or miss. We have dined here in the past (this is our fourth time) and the food was has been great every time. Once again it didn't disappoint and everything was really enjoyable. We had the crab cakes - a must, the Drift salad - always refreshing and light, and the red snapper - delicious! The service was also mostly good, although they left dirty plates on our table after saying they were going to take them twice and it was a small table so it was not ideal. Now the big thing that knocked a star off for me is this: When we were seated it was at a table with regular dining chairs. I'm recovering from a lower back and hip injury and asked when we were taken to the table if we could be switched to the small empty booth behind us as it looked like much more supportive and thicker cushions. I was informed that it was reserved for a table of four. There was a second of these booths the same size seating a couple, and a larger third booth that was empty that remained so for the majority of our meal. A few minutes after we were sat, they seated only two women at that first booth. The couple at the second booth finished shortly after that, leaving the second and third booth empty for the majority of our meal, (in addition to other tables) . It wasn't until we were almost wrapping up that the last booth ended up used. They seated a couple at that booth meant for 4-6 people. I spent the majority of the dinner very uncomfortable and in pain. This is at one of my favorite hotels and our second year staying here. We've looked forward to this for awhile so this was a disappointing and frustrating start to a romantic weekend. It's a small detail, but sometimes those matter more than the bigger things. read more

I wanted to like this place. It had so much potential, which is why I will preface this review with I will try them again. We were seated outside by the pool to enjoy a lovely sunset dinner. We were being eaten alive by tiny bugs, so we asked to be repeated inside. The staff was super accommodating and made space for our large party. While I waited, I had a chance to look at the interior decor. This is a very tastefully decorated restaurant with a nautical theme, which was on point for Hutchinson Island. It was elegant and upscale. I won't name her, but our server was TERRIBLE. She was slow, inattentive, and very rude. She reached across the table often, which was off-putting to see a server reach over someone's food or drinks to place or clear dishes. She also seemed impatient with us although we spent a lot of time waiting for her. Finally the food. I ordered the High Roller. As a large party, we already expected a long wait. Fine, an hour it is. But when I got my food, it was cold. Again, big group so you get grace. Where they went wrong is when they under cooked the colossal shrimp in the dish. I had to spit out the equivalent of one shrimp in a napkin (sorry about that) and I sent the other shrimp back to the kitchen to cook longer. What I got back were 4 or 5 medium shrimp seasoned and sautéed perfectly. Not the end of the world but an obvious switcheroo. I did enjoy the dish but I wouldn't get that again. I think I'd like the Blue Crab Grouper better next time. Overall, there were too many small things to overlook the half and half experience. I don't live near Hutchinson Island, so I won't be back to that location, but there are others closer to me that I'll try. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights and ate most of our meals here. The drinks are excellent. Jodi, Amanda, and Meghan (manager) were fabulous bartenders. They were spot on for their recommendations for food. I had the tuna poke which was super fresh and tasty. Hubby had the crease salad and loved it. Other times we got the wedge salad and pizzas. The meatballs were the only disappointment of all the foods we tried. The last night I shared the crab cakes(amazing!!) and a filet dinner which was perfectly cooked. We did not go hungry here. The pizzas are constantly being made throughout the day and night. There are 3 pizzas offered on the menu but they can also way you want. Highly recommend this restaurant. They get busy when there is a conference and it seems locals like to come here. read more

Beautiful view with beautiful company! Recently celebrated a retirement of one of my colleagues and the service and food were absolutely fantastic. Calamari wasn't crispy and still tasty. We also had the bruschetta and spinach dip appetizer. As an entree I had the crispy chicken sandwich which could have used a bit more seasoning. All in all I would definitely recommend Drift as a great lunch or dinner spot. read more

We have enjoyed several visits to Drift as we take advantage of the nearby beach. The service is friendly and helpful explaining the daily food options and beverages. We have eaten on the patio and the bar, both were comfortable. If it's windy out, the patio can be a little tough. You don't have to stay at the resort to enjoy the restaurant. Make sure you stop by and give them a try. It's worth the stop. read more

Great views! Food however missed the mark. Ordered the Day Boat Scallops and the Pasta Bolognese. If I'd had to guess the issue it seemed the scallops were ready before the pasta. The scallops and risotto arrived lukewarm and the pasta was so undercooked it was gummy and stuck together. We ate very little of the scallops and almost none of the pasta. Service was overly relaxed and casual, no one bothered to ask as they cleared our plates as to why they were mostly uneaten. We paid our check and left. We will not return. read more

Such a cute restaurant on the water. I visited here after a spa appointment. It's right above the spa so that was convenient. There's a parking lot and valet is also available. i took my husband here for Fathers Day, all seemed well. I asked the server to recommend a drink that was not sweet " don't like sweet drinks". she recommended a spritzer type drink. I took a sip, tooo sweet, I asked my husband to take a sip, same reaction. she happily took it back and made me one without the sweet stuff. We got our check, looked at it and she charged us for2. we called her attention to it and she said "it wasnt taken off , "I will have to take it to my manager " In a few minutes the manager showed up at our table and interrogated us about the drink. We moved to Port St. Lucie a month ago, and we wanted to have lunch by the beach, so yesterday we ended up in Hutchinson Beach at Drift Kitchen & Bar. It's a beautiful place, we sat on the terrace with a nice view of the ocean. The food was delicious, I had the lobster bisque and the Margarita pizza, my wife the mahi burger and my nephew from Montreal the shrimp tacos. Kim our server was efficient and super friendly, compared to the hostess that could've put a smile on her face. The prices are reasonable. We should go back there soon! read more

Great 1st time experience!! Really luv eating at the beach. Place is really really cute, nice menu options. I had the mahi tacos, 3 lil ones but just enough, fish cooked perfectly, nice slaw on them with yummy aoli. Fries was my side nicely crisp and seasoned. This is my new favorite restaurant. Every time I go I am well pleased with the food. The locale and scenery can't be beat. Had my birthday dinner here and it was fantastic! Started with the Broken Caesar which was large enough to split. I got the Shrimp Linguine, delicious pasta. Stayed at Hutchinson Shores for the weekend. We had plans to go elsewhere for dinner but the weather was awful. We decided to eat at Drift Kitchen and Bar, which was a blessing in disguise. Service: Excellent service and amazing cuisine. Our server was LeeLee, she was friendly, attentive and very welcoming. Food: My husband ordered the lobster bisque and honestly, it was the best lobster bisque we've ever had huge chunks of lobster. My salmon entrée was great too. The desserts are all amazing. So in the area in a solo trip. Went for a girls night with an old friend to catch up. The place was busy but we were able to still talk and not yell over each other. Bartenders were a bit on the slow side but once they came over things went a lot smoother. We started w a drink, had a salad and main dish. I attached photos. Food was cooked perfectly! Came on a Saturday around 7:30 - we luckily had reservations as this place was pretty busy however it did slowly start clearing out through the night. The hotel restaurant is overlooking ocean and there is a board walk to walk over to the ocean when you're done with the meal. The food was overall satisfying however could use a little work for the price. The Brussel sprouts were burnt and a bit mushy. the braised short rib however was tender and fell apart easily and was flavored very well . The vegetables that were served with it needed to be cooked a bit longer and it felt like they were drowning in oil. Overall a very nice experience for a night out with a nice atmosphere read more

We are staying at Hutchinson Shores Resort and visited Drift on January 1st at 11:30 a.m., expecting a brunch for New Year's Day. There was none, so we had lunch instead. The menu is very limited and overall disappointing. The salads were acceptable, but the pizza, chicken sandwich, and focaccia were not good. This is unfortunate, as the location is beautiful, the ocean view is lovely, and the service is good. The restaurant needs a better menu and a new chef. read more

Waitresses were OK. Our first server - who was openly chewing gum and popping it - left after taking our drink orders and the second server was not very attentive. Fantastic service, cool views of the ocean and yummy food. My only dislike is valet parking but it's a small footprint. We came for Sunday lunch and it was pretty empty. A friend had dinner here and liked the food and place well enough. So we decided to try it given that we had a birthday celebration. The restaurant is in a very nice resort on Hutchinson Island. As there's only valet parking, we parked on the public space just to the left. It's a short walk. The restaurant is on the second level but there's a lift to take you upstairs. The surrounding area is beautifully decorated. Lots of photo opportunities. We were seated at the window that looks out to a patio, the swimming pool and the ocean. The staff are engaging and welcoming. Yes, the waitress did try to push us to get drinks but not too aggressively. She was actually very polite and friendly. Every food on the menu is her favorite! The pasta dishes are excellent in taste and texture. The chicken was a little dry but flavorful. The salmon is done just right. The lobster bisque is one of the best ever tasted! Came by on a Wednesday evening and we were seated right away. We were told the specials and started with the tuna poke nachos. The tuna was really fresh and the chip it was laid on added a nice crunch. I ordered the shrimp linguine and the portion was massive, I was pretty full after eating what I felt like was a lot but it barely made a dent. Our gang of four dined for lunch at the Drift Kitchen + Bar inside the Hutchinson Shores Resort. Italian themed. Started out loud at 1 pm, and became quieter after 1:30. Our reservation made online was honored on time. Service was attentive and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their dishes: Meatball appetizer with ricotta cheese, perfectly cooked Steak Frites, tasty Short Rib Grilled Cheese sandwich, Smoky Blue personal size brick oven pizza, and House Salad with grilled salmon. Served with a nicely chilled martini. Lots of other seafood items. The setting is hip, bright, modern décor with ocean view on the second floor of the resort. Can also dine al fresco nearly on the beach adjacent to the Dune Beach Bar. Also open for breakfast and dinner. Parking is either valet or self-park in the adjacent public beach parking area Small gripe: Drinks are on the high side. read more
